It has been 5 years since the slaying of Alduin. The danger caused by the dragons has been forgotten by many Nords. The focus of all of Skyrim is the deadly Civil War that increases in ferocity with each month. The Empire is slowly losing their will to fight in Skyrim, but all that is about to change. The Aldmeri Dominion, who have had 5 years to prepare another invasion of the Empire, are growing eager to put an end to the Empire. The Aldmeri see Skyrim as the perfect starting point for the conquering of all Tamriel. Then one day, seemingly out of nowhere, 2 Aldmeri armies march on Skyrim. Before anyone knew what was happening, there was an Aldmeri army just 2 days march from Riften, and another army just 3 days march from Solitude It is suspected they negotiated a treaty with Morrowind to allow them passage, and that they had a fleet under the cover of night land another army by Solitude. Tullius and Ulfric have little time and agree to a truce. The brothers of Skyrim are once again united, but there are no celebrations. The Aldmeri have one army near Riften, and one army near Solitude, and all Tullius has is 1 legion of soldiers by which to defeat both armies. Can the Aldmeri truly be defeated?

"Tullius, Sir, are you sure we can holdout in Solitude? The Aldmeri Army will begin to march soon." said Edelion, trusted member of the Imperial Legion.
"Edelion, I will admit. These are dark times. My forces are spread thin but I do believe we have a chance. You see, Solitude is built in such a position it acts as a fortress. The attackers will automatically have a disadvantage. We are even drawing in more recruits: lots of Nords eager to defend their homeland, Wood Elves who want revenge against the oppressive Aldmeri, and even a few Khajiits who do not believe the Thalmor returned the moons. The Empire herself sends what spare troops it can but will not risk Cyrodiil's safety for Skyrim's." Responded Tullius, while studying his map of the situation and reading some briefings.
Edelion spoke up: "Sir, it is in these darkest of times I wish to prove myself to the Imperial Army. I wish to have a division of soldiers to lead, so that I may fight for the Empire's glory."

Tullius spends a few minutes thinking about the decision. "Alright Edelion, you have proven unshakingly loyal to the Empire and have to me that you are trustworthy. I will give you this division of troops and I give you the power to do with them as you wish so long as it benefits the war. You are to begin recruiting tomorrow. You cannot have more than 30 troops though I'm afraid, we're stretched too thin. I trust you will do the most with what you have. You are dismissed."
Edelion responded, with a fire glowing in his eye: "Your trust is well placed. I shall do all I can for the Empire, and for my Emperor. Talos Bless You, General."
Edelion then goes out to the local inn and rents a room.
Nothing to do now except sleep and get a good night's rest. Tomorrow will be busy, I shall get my division together. Tullius said I can have 30 troops, but I'll show him. I'll recruit 20 soldiers for the division, and we shall be the bravest warriors in the Imperial Army. Just tomorrow... just tomorrow... *Edwyn dozes off into sleep at these words*

(OOC: other members. I was thinking you could join this division by A: publicly displaying your skills in Solitude; B: Being in the Empire's recruitment lines and causing some sort of scene. or C: yelling loudly about your past heroics. You are however free to come up with some interesting ways of your own, I'm just trying to give some ideas.)

As Ulfric and his guards, which included Gunjar, walked up the road leading from the Stormcloak camp near Solitude Gunjar couldnt help but asking Ulfric the question that had been nagging at him all day. "Sir if you dont mind me asking why are we negotiating a peace treaty after we spent all this time fighting?"

Ulfric turned to Gunjar and said "You see Gunjar,we cant fight the thalmer near Riften alone, nor can the Imperiels fight the army marching on Solitude alone either. So if we combine forces we might win.".

Gunjar was about to reply when a scout troop of 12 thalmer jumped out fo the forest and onto the road. Gunjar turned to look at the troop fast approaching and then truned to see how far the gate was. It was still a ways off but it would have to do. "Come on men,we must run for it! Protect Ulfric! For Skyrim!".

The Thalmor were attacking in a triangular formation. "Perfect" Thought Isnar, while on a platform above them. He pulled a rope, and a few seconds after the Thalmor had passed underneath him, he jumped down, and started slashing the elves in the backs. With all the commotion going on, they didn't even know they were being slaughtered.

J'Ghasta had made his way to Solitude to join up with the Legion, having witnessed their evil back in Elswyr, he didn't want it to happen to Skyrim.
A drunken nord stopped him, "wat'r you doin in Solitude yeh dirty cat? This place ain't fi fer yer kind." J'Ghasta used his staff to sweep the feet from under the nord, "This one actually wants to help kill the elves, unlike you this one has a purpose." He walked by the man, patted his head like a dog, "blessings of Akatosh upon you."

R'hage rides all the way to Solitude. He dismounts his horse at the stables, and enters the city. He walks straight to the Castle at the end of the city. He looks at the castle and sees a line infront of the door. He walks towards the line and waits at the back. " What is this about?" He asked the man in front him. The nord turned and said " Empire recruitment to stop the elven invasion" " Thanks" R'hage didn't know it was that serious. This will be the 2nd great war. Thought R'hage. He was patiently waiting in line when 3 nords surrounded him. " Nice necklace greenskin" Said the bigger nord reaching for R'hage's neckalace. R'hage grabbed the man's wrist and twisted it raising his other hand ready to punch the man in his windpipe. " Leave me alone Nord i won't hesitate to hurt you and your friends." Said R'hage eyeing the man's friends who had their hands on their swords. He realesed the man and drew both of his Orcish swords." Do you wish to die?" Asked R'hage looking at the men. The men backed up slowly and left R'hage alone. R'hage then faced the front again glad he didn't have to do anything extreme.

Edelion had already seen many recruits today. Not many were worthy for his division of soldiers. Early in the morning however we witnessed a Khajiit sweep a Nord off his feet with just a staff. Yes, he'll be useful. Must be some sort of mage... or perhaps a monk. He'll want to kill plenty of Aldmeri as well, he was probably expelled from Elsewyr. Now he would want revenge. "You, Khajiit, are you signing up for the Imperial Legion?"
    "Yes this one is Redguard."
"How would you like to join my special division? I was assigned to recruit for it by Tullius himself."
"This one needs time to consider."
"Meet me by Castle Dour when you have made your decision."
    And Edelion returned to recruiting.

After approximately 1 hour he spotted an Orc get into the back of the line. He was approached by 3 Nords who were looking for a fight. The Orc grabbed one man's hand and twisted it with lightning fast reflexes. The Orc raised his other fist, ready to end the fight if they tried anything else. he droopped the man's hand and drew his Orcish Swords. Ah, a dual weilder, that could prove useful. The Nords backed off and the Orc sheathed his swords.
"Hello Orc. Welcome to Solitude. I noticed that display back there and I would like to speak to you about joining the Legion."
"Why else would I be here?" said the Orc.
"Ah, but you do not understand. This will be a special division of troops, commanded by me personally and given personal approval from General Tullius. Meet me by Castle Dour when you have reached a decision."
Well, halfway through the day and I have only recruited 2 soldiers. Not even sure if they'll say yes. Surely some more great soldiers will show themselves, I better get back to looking then.

(OOC: I leave the conversations off that way to give your character time to think so you can post about what his feelings are toward joining.)

Isnar looked at the division of Thalmor he just dispatched. There was a lone survivor on the ground. Isnar grabbed him by the collar of his breastplate, tied his hands, and pulled him back to Solitude.

"Hmmm special division, this one thinks that he could better stop the Thalmor and their lies that way. This one will do it, it is surely an opportunity sent from Akatosh." After stopping at the tavern to purchase supplies, J'Ghasta headed over to Castle Dour.
"This one will join you Imperial" he said to Edelion.

R'hage thinks about the proposition. He spots a Khajiit walking towards the recruiter. It seems the cat accepted the opportunity. R'hage walked towards the recruiter. " I shall join this special regiment" Said R'hage looking at the recruiter. He smiles knowing by taking down the Aldmeri would defend his stronghold and most importantly his family. He reaches for his necklace rubbing the wooden dagger. Papa will be home soon Thought R'hage thinking about his son.

The Khajiit walked up to Edelion and said, "This one will join you Imperial."

Edelion responded, "Khajiit, I'll have you know that I am a Redguard. Do not be confused by my Imperial Armor. I am glad you decided to join up."

And then the Orc walked up to Edelion, "I shall join this special regiment."

"I am glad to hear. The Khajiit here has joined as well. However, another question remains. What is your name, Orc? And what is yours, Khajiit? I am Imperial Officer Edelion, proud soldier of the Empire, trusted helper of General Tullius, and proud worshipper of Talos."

Isnar dragged the elf through the front gate. He brought him into Solitude, and laid him out into the street. The elf was kicking his legs and trying to get away, but the old mans grip was strong.

R'hage looked at Edelion. " My name is R'hage" R'hage looked at edelion noting how fast he confessed his worshipping. I don't need a Talos follower to watch my back. Thought R'hage thinking about how many Talos followers attack his stronghold over all of his years as a guard. I hope he's different from the others Thought R'hage.

Isnar tied the rest of his rope around the elf's neck, like a leash. He walked into the local inn with his new pet.

"Edelion sir, you won't believe what has just happened!" said a young Imperial soldier who had trained under Edelion only a month earlier. "An old man has just entered Solitude dragging a Thalmor soldier with a rope! He tied the rope around his neck and is using it as a leash! Oh it is a sight to see!"
I better check what this old man is up to.
Edelion arrives at the inn and sees a large crowd. The man is likely in the center.
Edelion works his way through the crowd shouting "Official Imperial Business, back away please." Finally, Edwyn spots the old man sitting down holding the Thalmor's leash. He noticed the Thalmor was battered and bruised.
"Sir, how did you happen upon this soldier and did you do all this damage yourself?"

"There was a group of Thalmor attacking a camp, a little bit out of the city. I killed them all. This is the only survivor." Isnar tugged on the leash and the thalmor fell to the ground.

"Really? You are clearly an experienced fighter then sir. How old are you?"

    "96"

"Hah, a rarity in Skyrim these days. A man with such experience as you, I would be honored if you would consider joining my special division of troops. We're going to be fighting the war here in Skyrim. Commanded by me personally with approval from General Tullius. We already have 2 promising recruits but we need more. Come to Castle Dour when you think of a response."

And Edelion walked back to Castle Dour, once again looking for promising recruits for the battles ahead.
