ALDMERI DOMINION [DISLIKES] - Although she is atheist and their rantings don't affect her, she believes that people should choose for themselves who to worship.
MERCENARIES [DISTRUSTS] - People who sell their services can just as easily be bought by the other side. They don't fight for whichever side is the right one; they fight for whichever one has more gold.
THIEVES [DISLIKES] - Dishonorable people. Steal to make their own lives better, while making others' lives worse.
EMPIRE [RESPECTS] - Although they are controlled by the Aldmeri Dominion, they still want to make peoples' lives better.
GEAR
ARMOUR A black, skintight bodysuit with a thin layer of protective gel inside, that prevents some of the force of damage coming in. The zip on the bodysuit is undone slightly, down to upped chest level. Some cleavage shows through. Boots are heeled, but only so that she can see over high objects more easily. Gloves are black, slick and very tight, wrapping around her fingers perfectly. (It looks like latex, but isn't.)
WEAPONS A small, easily hidden, silenced sub-machine gun. It is an energy weapon, so it does not need ammunition, but it does need cooling after about 30 successive shots.
Also a pair of silenced pistols, that are projectile weapons and therefore do require ammunition, however they are rarely used.
She also wields a small dagger in case her guns are no longer available; a black steel dagger that is immensely sharp so as to cut through standard-issue body armour.
HISTORY
CHILDHOOD La'ara was born near the equator of the Bosmer homeworld. Her mother, a Breton, had been an adventurer who had met La'ara's father and decided to stay, forsaking her adventurous life for a husband and a child. La'ara was born early in the summer, and had inherited traits of both races. She was small, and already skilled with basic magic, as a Breton. However, she was also destined to be a fantastic archer and she had slightly pointed ears, as a Bosmer. Her mother decided to let her father name her, so she got an elven name; La'ara. However, she didn't get a surname due to the Bosmer tradition of giving children surnames based on their personality or traits.
She grew up in a very happy, rich household that owned a school for budding warriors, of all shapes, sizes and ambitions. Because of this, she began to attend this school at a young age. This is where she got her surname; the teacher noticed that where others would blindly attack, La'ara would hold back, listen and wait, with the wisdom of someone much older than she. And when it was time to strike; where the other children charged forwards guns blazing and took out maybe four, five enemies before being defeated, La'ara would stick to the shadows, never being seen and remaining silent, even preventing her weapons making a noise. She managed to clear an entire simulation on her own without once being spotted, so she was given the surname 'Darkstrider'.
TEENAGE YEARS La'ara had grown to become very beautiful. At the age of fourteen, boys from the school were falling at her feet. She rejected them all, never once giving them what they wanted. She kept attending the school, and grew even more powerful, even more skilled at hunting from shadows. She became known by her surname, because it suited her so well. And eventually, when the teacher decided he could teach her no more, she left. She went to a school of magic, to learn more about funneling her essence into spells. She learnt to cast reasonably advanced spells, but never quite matched her skill at remaining undetected. Aged nineteen, she had no more to learn. She helped her parents in their daily lives a lot; the only time she spoke more than a few words was when she was talking to her parents. But she found her life boring, repetitive. She decided to do something with her life.
ADULTHOOD Her parents gave her a hundred thousand septims to buy a ship. For that much, she could buy a frigate; but she didn't. She bought a smaller ship for the same price, and got a fantastic deal. Military-grade tracking equipment, even higher range armour for the ship, a large piece of cloaking equipment. The ship was perfect for her; she called it Darkstrider, to match her. She was taught, by a family friend, how to work on the ship. By the time she was twenty-three, she knew every inch of the ship, inside and out. She could fix anything within its workings, and complete the most advanced aerial maneuvers. She was an expert pilot, and an expert engineer.
So she went on a test run. She took off from the homeworld, managing to reach the edge of their solar system before deciding she had gone far enough. She took the ship back, landing it perfectly outside her parents' house.
She kept going on random expeditions like this, enjoying it. But she never felt like there was a good reason for her parents to give her those hundred thousand septims. She couldn't think of anything until she was twenty-six, and she heard about the Shadow Station; shrouded in mercenaries, thieves and general bad people. She decided to finally put all her skills to use; she flew off and docked with the Station. She lived there in secret, not even celebrating her birthday. She became a vigilante warrior, fighting the scum on the Station, becoming a legend among them, known as the Black of Night. And this is where La'ara's story begins...
