I thought this was a great build, and I have been having a lot of fun with it, so I wanted to share it with people here. This is taken from someone named Mason, over at The Skyrim Blog.

Character Build: The Revenant - The Skyrim Blog

This build revolves around getting the Ring of Namira, wearing Ancient Nord Armor, and being somewhat of an abomination. Ring of Namira, Ancient Nord Armor, Honed Ancient Nord Weaponry, One Handed and Block or Two Handed, Smithing, Enchanting, Heavy Armor, Conjuration.

I didn't build the character exactly as he laid out though. I only went Two Handed, and Quick Reflexes from the Block tree, instead of One and Two handed and all of Block. I play on Expert difficulty and have selected Orc as my race.

I got my Ancient Nord Armor as he detailed from Kjelstag Ruins at level 1 (I leveled up but didnt "level up"). Since I wasn't using One Handed / Shield, I didn't go to Aftland. I also substituted in the Helm of Yngol, which is an Ancient Nord helmet with upturned horns instead of downward curling, I think really adds to the look.

I agree that Two Handed and magic is kind of clunky, so what I did was usually summon an Atronach and cast Soul Trap on a baddie, then pull out my Two Hander for the duration of the fight. Eventually I will be summoning Dremora Lords and/or raising Dead Thralls. If you want to use Necromancy during battle, I would suggest going One Handed / Shield instead of Two Handed. This way you can kill an enemy, and switch out one hand for a Raise Dead spell, a lot smoother than holstering and re-equipping your Two Hander.

I did Namira's quest by about level 4, and became quite powerful with the extra 50 Health, 50% health regen, and 50 Stamina. I really like Mason's idea of the hungry "Duskbreaker" Sword combined with Azura's star (black), but I've made a Battleaxe with Absorb Health and Absorb 1 Stamina, so I can keep power attacking. I usually use the spell Soul Trap, but I also have a Silver Greatsword with Fiery Soul Trap and Turn Undead for a backup / Draugr dungeon weapon.

I went through the Companions (my character remains a Werewolf for disease immunity only, never transforms) to be able to make new Ancient Nord armor, because I enchanted my first set early and now the enchantments have become irrelevant, so I have smithed new armor with better enchantments. I can also make Nord Hero weapons now, but they don't look as dirty as the Ancient Nord weapons, so I prefer to stick with the Honed Ancient Nord Battleaxe.

To get to Arcane Smithing, since I am not doing Aftland for Targe of the Blooded shield, I included Kolskeggr Mine and Sanuarach Mine, one a Gold mine and one a Silver mine. I smithed jewelry (which can then also be enchanted to raise enchanting), and eventually Dwarven bows, and hit 60 around the time my Two Handed skill did.

I have had a lot of fun with this build. I hope some of you are inspired by it as well.

    I like your style.
It`s a good move not to go to Aftland until you get the Dead Thrall spell because you're going to want Umana and Sulla Trebatius in your brigade of the dead for the end game.
They are a much better reward than The Targe of the Blooded.

Thanks. I was thinking along this line after going through the Gaulder quest. This will look good with the Gaulders amulet, the blackblade and blackbow.

This character will probably be my vampire lord too...

You have to wait until after 8pm, then the ghost comes out of the northern side of the ruin. I just followed the instructions and got the ghost easily. You probably already figured it out by now since this is from 5 days ago. How are you liking the build?
