PS3 Freezing?

    I have a brand new PS3 with the latest 4.20 update and a brand new Skyrim disc. The game runs just fine until I touch water, anytime i step into a river or pond, the game instantly freezes. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    i have an older ps3 and mine freezes evertime my head goes in the water. If i can keep my head above water it is ok, but i have found 3 quests that you have to go in the water. I have no idea how it can be fixed, but am trying to find it.

    I suggest saving before you need to go near water as a safety. But delete the Game Utility Data (This is not your save it will be safe) at re-install Skyrim and update it. That may fix it.

    aye do what squirrel_killer, his idea sounds awesome, i have a ps3 2 years old and have no problems when encounteing the water swimming above head up and swimming down below(under water)
