That pivotal moment of the game (one of many) in which you must choose to side with either the Blades or the Greybeards.

Your choice: Slay Paarthurnax and help out the Blades while lsoing all chance with the 'Beards or ignore the quest, forfeit it and keep your alleigence to the 'Beards.

I went with the Greybeard's side, as the Blades seem incredibley stupid and next to useless, whereas Paarthurnax is kind of an awesomely cool mentor and the 'Beards give you shout locations.

    What did you pick?o_O

I spared him, but the Greybeards don't become hostile but they won't talk to you no more.

I didn't even bother with the Blades after they said I should kill Parthurnax. In addition to the Greybeards showing you word wall locations Parthurnax can teach you meditations that improve a shout. Definentally worth keeping him alive.

I went to Paarthurnax and talked and the question he asked made my mind up quote" What is better to be born good or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" it was so profound and wise . Even before that Delphine was like if you don't kill we're through I literally said the doors right there beocth. Then when talked to Arngeir and told him what they wanted to do right started to get mad at me I just said ' Dude I'm not going to kill him he and Odahviing are my boys. Why would I kill one of my boys?" In my opinion anyone who sided with the blades made the stupid choice. Why kill one of the only few friendly dragon.

because they once enslaved all mortals ?
I tend to kill anyone who says things like, ''Do you get to the clouds district very often ? oh what am i saying ofcourse you dont'' so killing a dragon with a history of enslaving my ancesters does not prove difficult for me.
As for you're question: i killed him, and then my ps3 died, so now i bought a new one and get to start over, yay!!

I'm playing a character that has no qualms about popping a journeying farmer who's off to join the Imperials or the Stormcloaks just to get his soul. Or antagonizing Thalmor Justiciars to get them to attack me so I can kill them and take their stuff with no added bounty. I will steal anything that looks valuable to me. Yes, I'm scum in the game. Lower than a bandit. Nazeem is on my list.

But Paathurnax is cool and I couldn't bring myself to kill him. Even if he had nothing to offer in the game I still wouldn't but if Delphine were killable I'd drop her in a heartbeat just for suggesting the very idea. And to get her stuff.

Does no one else play the game to complete it? I mean why not get everything you need from the grey beards and the dragon then kill him just to do the blades quest? I mean thats why I buy video games to finish them not to say oh this characters better than this one so ill forget about this part of the game. Maybe im the only one here that treats it like a game, and a game you play to complete it.

I chose to spare Paathurnax. The Blades I really respected back in Oblivion and enjoyed being a part of them. Yet when they came back in Skyrim, I was at first super excited to help rebuild the Blades! Recruit for them, help them gain back to the former power they used to be, hopefully becoming powerful enough to push the Thalmor and their Dominion back. When they told me I had to kill Paathurnax in order to stay in the Blades all because of their twisted sense of "justice", I knew the Blades has fallen far from where they once were 200 years ago. Justice needs to be paid, but it does not always have to be in blood. Paathurnax has paid for his crimes in isolation for years, meditating on his mistakes. When the time came to where Paathurnax could have killed us, he spared us. That is real justice, the Blades don't know of real justice anymore.

Paarthurnax is the one who saved humanity in the first place, he helped them defeat Alduin during the dragon war.

If not for Paarthurnax, there would be no Blades to begin with.

Dr. D'Irsei of Solitude Smiles Traveling Dentistry pelts those Thalmor bozos with violence and deals with their overbites. Then leaves their stuff. Later, she hides in the bushes and giggles as passersby discover their corpses and go "Aww for crying out loud! Would you look at those perfect teeth?! I'd DIE for a smile like that!"

After the council at the Greybeards between General Tullius and Ulfric Stormcloak Delphine practically runs at me and gives me this quest to slay the dragon. I was a bit pissed simply because i didnt even want this quest in my quest log. I followed Delphine as she was walking out of the Greybeards and when we both ended up outside I shouted her off the mountain. I'm not sure if this does anything to her or not, but i havent seen her since. Good riddance in my opinion.

The Blades quests dont even seem worth the trouble for me. I'm not fond of their armor or weapons (Samurai style) and also for the Blades quests, arent you required to kill other Blades members after recruiting them? I could be wrong on that assumption but I read somewhere that it says something about recruiting more blades members and then having to kill them.

I have all the achievements unlocked. That's as complete as it needs to get for me. Everything beyond that is role play. I may go off the deep end with another character and kill him but it just doesn't sit right with me. Delphine was underhanded from the start. She made me go through all that crap to get the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller for nothing.
