I was only referring to the dumbed down language. It's insulting to use the dumbed down language. Even if he's an idiot

No, it really doesn't. My main character, Alistar, is a Nord. Would someone who hates Nords make their main character one?

Actually, no it doesn't. Yes, it was an exaggerated example, but it puts a very good point across.

You've proven you can make a point. Now, can you make the point as to why I, along with Mr.Self Destruct, shouldn't say Caleb acted the way he did because he was drunk?

The Forgotten Septim I usually agree with you but come on man leave Mr.Self Destruct role playing stuffs out of this debate. This debate is suppose to be nothing but canon materials, Not something made up by a fan.

Lets leave our Dragonborn characters out of this debate, PLEASE!

    EDITED: fixed a spelling error.

It would appear that your views are leaking into those of your character. Having your character teach members of his race to live like your favorite race is proof of that. It's the same as me making a Dunmer (my least favorite race, thanks to Morrowind) try to teach other Dunmer to live like Nords (my favorite race).

Can we take the off topic stuffs to conversation? Remember this is an imperial or stormcloak thread :)

I think this has evolved into a general debate thread, to be honest. Threads do change, especially when they're this big.

Septim, let's break this down to you.
The point of RP is to put yourself in another's shoes, Caleb is a different individual than me, his views do not reflect my own. What he says is not always reflective of what I'd say.

The scene was meant to get him noticed, as I've said before. Now, the racial remarks about the Nord's hair were meant to provoke him. Caleb likes to provoke people, and it didn't help he was drunk.

    Stop being naive.

No, it was his character's thought. There's a huge difference. You're just trying to make him look racist. Can you make that anymore obvious?

The Nord could've been any other race and the scene could've played out just the same. The idea I'd be discriminatory to a fictional race is absolutely retarded.

By your logic, teasing somebody makes you racist. Note that Caleb didn't even say anything racist, really. He made fun of his hair.

No, because you said you yourself are racist towards Khajiit. You said you're opinion is that Khajiit deserve racism, which is, in itself, a racist remark. That makes you racist towards a fictional species, which is kinda sad.

This is my summary (I'll try not to write a novelty) as of why I support the Stormcloaks with constructive criticism. I've already posted why I support the Stormcloaks on this thread way long ago, but for the sake of reviving this thread to the right direction I'll say it again.

Let me first say that this is my first elders scroll game so evidently speaking I was a complete novice at the time. The game starts off where I was being contained by the imperial legion along with Ulfric Stormcloak, A horse thief and Ralof. Their was another wagon that had more incarcerated Stormcloak soldiers in front of us. When we went to Helgan I fully expected to be taken to the prisons to be interrogated, but it never happened. I was to be sentenced to death for doing absolute nothing but to cross the borders. No background history, nothing. To me that is menacing. The fact to the matter is that the captain showed no mercy, and had no problem showing her amateurish behavior in front of her boss. To me that is disturbing. While I give points to Hadvar for actually doing his job as low ranked solider unfortunately after what happen at Helgan the Imperial legion gave me a sour taste in my mouth, and this is coming from someone who never played any of the other elders scroll games so I couldn't be bias.

What I would've liked to have seen was professionalism. When Hadvar told the captain about me not being on the list I would've had liked to seen her order him to take me to the prisons to be investigated with. I can either show sympathy for the stormcloaks or show hatred for them. If I show sympathy for them then the interrogator would say something like “Then you will die with these stormcloak dogs” as I am then taken back out to the execution block. If I say that I hate them then I get sympathy for the interrogator and then I would get released. Either way Alduin makes his presence and interrupts the execution. It's a better way to start the story that way, IMO. I don't know if Bethesda had full intentions of trying to make the Imperial legion as the antagonists at the beginning, but they certainly did a good job at it.

I'm not an Ulfric worshiper. I know he has some skeletons in his closet. He's nowhere near perfect. In Skyrim I must pick my poison. I must choose who is more suitable for High King/High Queen status base on what team I affiliate myself with. While Elisif was once married to High King Torygg that does not mean that she would make a good Queen for skyrim. She hasn't yet exhibited leadership, and capable of controlling armies. Her own personal chef talks down to her as she depends on General Tullius too much. Ulfric proved to me that he knows what hes doing. I admire his history, and for that I firmly believe that he would be a good next high king in Skyrim.
