In the latest issue of Game Informer magazine (Issue 231) Article titled The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard, they write that due to the base problems with PS3 specific bugs/issues that Bethesda has neglected to fix, playing Skyrim on the Sony PS3 is a losing proposition. This is couple with their announcement that the DLC is timed so that Xbox will get Dawnstar way before PS3 or PC and implied "several months" before PS3 and PC considering their history of neglecting PS3 and PC.

At least they are calling a spade a spade. I know Microsoft pays developers lots of money to get special early releases and exclusives but I think this will eventually backfire for the developers who keep giving PS3 customers the shaft. Many people have already put Skyrim on their shelf do to being out of quests and having worn out the replayability of the game. Even my Xbox friends have stopped playing Skyrim for now. I didn't get Skyrim until January so I am just now running out of quests. I love this game but I most likely will have 2 or 3 other games I am engrossed in by the time Bethesda decides to grace PS3 with their 1st DLC.

This really grinds my gears and make me wonder why the didn't just accept the full Xbox exclusive offer Xbox makes developers for any highly anticipated game.

I know what you mean about forgetting Skyrim - I've left it alone for weeks on end. The problem is you'd get so excited for it to come out and my friends and I were already planning what we were going to do and what characters to make. The result was I did it too fast, really.
I've gone back to skyrim because for me it's a game where you can just put your feet up and do random tasks - like the misc. quests.

Still, microsoft have said Dawnguard will come out 30 days earlier than the PC and PS3, which isn't as bad as a few months - and this means PS3 and PC gamers will be able to get more reviews and weigh up a purchase

look on the brightside, think of the xbox release as a test to find the bugs before it goes to PS3 and PC

i heard it was a 30 day delay from xbox to ps3.

i think neglecting one console like they sound they are going to do will cause a very unhappy fanbase.

I've noticed that many people and magazines dwell on perceived negativity. The only two bugs I've experienced on the PS3 have been corrected in updates so I don't feel that Bethesda have neglected me. I also play on the PC, and again the few bugs have been dealt with. Some are quite amusing.

Working in an office with a reasonable cross section of console/pc users who like to discuss their inner geek/abuse each other's choices of console, we all eventually agree that there is unlikely to ever be the perfect gameplay because so many other things can influence the play. It might not be the game at fault, it may be a save from another game, a deleted file, so many things can affect how the game will run. It's always been the same - even Pong crashed on me in the 70's.

People and magazines sometimes list their top games/worst games. How about a list of what works in Skyrim and another, which I'm sure will be much shorter, about what doesn't work. I know which list would be longer if I did it.

Maybe with age comes patience, 30 days isn't much. There used to be a much greater gap between Japanese/American/Eurpean game releases.

I still have quests to beat, trophies to earn and ways to play. Not a problem for me.

I'm still wondering about it. I just beat Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, so couple that with the PS3 copy of Skyrim and I'd probably have enough for an Xbox copy at Gamestop. Should I do it?

Depends on how much you want that DLC I guess, Blood Jester. I've played both the PS3 and 360 versions of this game and from my own personal experience felt it ran smoother overall on the 360. But, as I said, that's just my personal experience, everyone is going to experience something different in regards to this game.

PS3 has gotten shafted. Lots of issues with it. Some have been fixed while more were introduced.

I agree that is has gotten shafted overall. PC gets mods and the 360 gets DLC early, not to mention all the issues that the PS3 has had. It's a shame really.

Yes. It is one reason why I just went ahead and bought the PC version a month or so after getting the PS3 one. I still play Skyrim on PS3 but with each patch it seems I have less and less of a reason to do so.

I don't really care what they call it. I switched to PS3 because personally, I like the games more. Microsoft claiming the DLC for themselves won't sway me to buy another 360. I still have plenty to do on Skyrim and it works fine, no encountered bugs and it runs great. So again, they can call it what they want.

I play Skyrim on ps3 and have never had any problems that 360 hasn't. The only thing I found is that it tends to freeze completely on occasions but I assumed that it was just the actual ps3 because it has happening on some of my other games.

Still, how I wish I had a computer that was good enough to run Skyrim because some of the mods look bloody amazing!

Just because you haven't experienced many issues, doesn't mean everyone is in the same boat as you. Overall, Skyrim on the PS3 is terrible. And not because the console is inferior, but the game was poorly ported.

An out-rage In M'aiq's opinion. PS3 deserves just as much as X-Box,
    M'aiq finds this un-fair.
    M'aiq is mad.
