So any news on whether there's still room or not? I'd love to start playing with this character.

Always room. Just wait for Kat to assign you a city.

Great, I was thinking I may play a day somewhere close to the border with hammerfell - falkreath or markarth wilderness. Playing as if I'd just crossed the mountains by foot. Should I just wait, or is that kosher?

The rules say Kat has to assign you a city. I would've much prefered Falkreath but I got Whiterun. You could opt for a reroll if you don't like what she assigns you. You could have any backstory you want. Mine includes Helgen, but yours could say you walked across the mountains into (City). Just remember that everything the other people do affects you. For example, if you were to join the Companions you would meet my Wood Elf. If you enetered Riften Jail you'd meet Kat's old Argonian.

Alright understood. I was just thinking as a prelude - maybe find a shack to hole up in, get slightly more accustomed to the environment - to arriving in said random city, but I'll hold off.

Oh yeah, you can do that. Mine uses Helgen, but you can avoid saying anything about it. My backstory is that I was adopted into a Khajiit trading caravan. We were near the border to Skyrim in Morrowind and I was walking around away from the caravan when guards caught me and said I was illegally crossing the border. The Septim girl was visiting Winterhold I believe, the short-lived Argonian and Ally rode carts from some other province into Windhelm.

What about a little introduction post?

    Something like:

crossed the border today, so much more green than anywhere in Hammerfell.... ran into a couple hunters, offered me a bed in their shack in exchange for some gold... some exploring of the local area (really brief, no dungeons) then off to my destination in the following post

That would be in the backstory of your character card. Remember, you only have one iron dager, a roughspun tunic, some footwraps and whatever gold you found in Helgen. You then take a carriage to the destination Kat assigns you in-game and that is where the rp begins.

    I'm a guy. :p
My avatar is of my fiance.
I just like looking at her smile all the time.

Stutta All good, sorry for the delay. How does Morthal sound, cause that's what I rolled for ya.

Just a note, incase people misunderstand, if you opt for a reroll, you're still able to go back and choose the first option. I would just give you two choices but I dunno... some people might be like me and would rather have someone set stuff up for them. For example, I feel like if I started in Riften, I'd be obligated to make a thief character or something to prevent having to travel half way around Skyrim to get where I wanted to be.

I'm sorry I knew that it's just the avatar keeps making me think she. I knew you're a guy.

I always look at peoples profiles to see what gender they are and all that.

Well I don't like it when I confuse someones gender, so I look at that first.

Alright, Morthal sounds great. Secretly always been my favorite town, also a good start for my character. If only I could aspire to being a landowner there... gonna have to get creative on the intro though.

I agree, I like Morthal, if not just because it's so different than the other towns.
Plus the whole Abandoned Shack from the Dark Brotherhood questline. That was a really interesting start.

Well then you should probably get posting. Try to put the intro in there as a dream or flashback or something. Looks better that way.

Welcome aboard Stutta. No worries, you'll do fine. Just remember, flawed and weakened characters always make for more interesting writing. They need to rely on cleverness and guile more often than sheer brute force. The mighty hero that demolishes all is never an interesting read.

Yep, always best to give your character a fatal flaw of some sort. I've got mine, but it's still hidden away.
