I live and breathe this game. I just love helping people where I can. This list is one of a few that I'm working on. There is also the possibility of making other potions other than what I have here simply by using different ingredients.

Awesome. I started making a little html program for the ingredients to show their effects and vice verse, but my list isn't as complete as this :))

Is this list made when you have all 4 effects discovered in one ingredient or is this just from 1st effect discovered?

95% of the ingredients had all four effects, the other 5% only had three at the time I finished writing. When I first started playing I often wondered what different potions I could make from what ingredients so I just kept experimenting & documenting until I had a decent list. Posting an Alchemy list with only 1 effect is a waste of time in my book.

Wow you really take a time to do this, nice!

I understand that would be waste of time... the thing is I thought I could use this list, but this list is good only for characters who can discover all effects. Currently my character can only discover 1st effect and looking this list I can't tell what ingredient is really usable for my current character.

I don't know when you documented did you noted is this 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th effect next to ingredient? It would be really helpful if you did, so you could put it like that to this thread.

    For example:

Cure Disease (Charred Skeever Hide [2nd], Hawk Feathers [1st], Mudcrab Chitin [4th], Vampire Dust [3rd])*

*The numbers I used are not true... unless I have them right by coincidence. :)

I could go back through the list using the ingredients my current character is using and document the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th ingredients for each potion. I know it's time consuming but thinking about what you said I see that it's needed, besides I'm really enjoying this....lol

True it's time consuming but hey you know, you already spend a lot of time for it so why not a bit more so your list would be really useful for all players. Btw good job! :)

Actually after testing this on a new character it doesn't matter whether the ingredient has unknown qualities or not. If you read the list you will see that the majority of the ingredients can be used to create different potions.
If you want to make a " Cure Disease " Potion then you need at least 2 of the following ingredients to make it; - Charred Skeever Hide, Hawk Feathers, Mudcrab Chitin or Vampire Dust.

If you wanted to make a " Fortify Sneak " Potion then you need at least 2 of the following ingredients to make it; Abecean Longfin, Beehive Husk, Frost Mirriam, Hawk Feathers, Human Flesh, Powdered Mammoth Tusk or Purple Mountain Flower.

Now if you notice that I've underlined Hawk Feathers, that's because it can used to make 2 different potions.

Another example is using "Fortify Sneak " again & using at least 2 of the following ingredients; - Abecean Longfin, Beehive Husk, Frost Mirriam, Hawk Feathers, Human Flesh, Powdered Mammoth Tusk or Purple Mountain Flower.

To make " Weakness to Poison " you need; - Abecean Longfin, Bleeding Crown, Chaurus Eggs, Deathbell, Giant Lichen, Pine Thrush Egg, Sabre Cat Tooth, Small Antlers. One ingredient can be used 2 different potions, in this case Abecean Longfin.

If the list is used the way I have documented it, then there isn't a problem in creating potions I have created without the need to test each ingredient to find it's qualities. Print the list out & try it.

My list takes the hassle out of trying to work out which ingredient you need to make which potion. There isn't any need for a list to be made for each ingredient and it's qualities.

First, thanks for this. I was just about to dive into my book and start making one for myself. :)

I have made tons of potions and many that sell for 300+ gold each. Quite a few of them even sell for over 500 so thanks to this, potion making is my main bread and butter especially since you can buy the ingredients and turn right around and make a HUGE profit.

I'd like to make a recipe list for the most valuable potions. I've been so absorbed into the game that I haven't wanted to take break from all the action to do so but it seems that it would benefit all those that are interested here.

Does anyone here have any valuable recipes you'd like to share?

I'll come back tomorrow with a few and put them here (start a new thread entitled "Most valuable potion recipes"?).

one of the things that annoys me about making potions is that when I try to make a, let's say, Restore Health Potion and you combine Wheat and Daedra Heart. This will create a potion of Restore Health, however, since both ALSO do Damage Stamina Regen, you've suddenly got a potion that can now only be a poison and if used will Restore Health to the target and Damage thier Stamina Regen. Now, the plus side is that is now a more powerful potion and thus will have a higher resell.

What I would love is a way to select only one effect. In the above case, just Restore Health. Instead I get a potion that is only good to sell.

Unless of course, there is a way to only get one effect and I'm oblivious.

If you use all 3 ingredients though you will get the desired effect, it's finding the right 3 is the fun bit...lol.
But I rarely use Daedra Hearts in my potions, as they aren't as common as the rest.

Lol, yes this is annoying which is partially why I wanted a complete list so I can find out how to make the best ones for only what I want for myself. All of the other weird stuff that has both positive and negative effects usually sells for gooood money. :D
