    The Madgod's Request

An Amulet barely recognized for what it truly is due to its power over the human mind has resurfaced. This Artifact, going by several names including the 'Pendant of Insatiable Insanity' and 'The Madstone' was always thought to be related to the unpredictable Daedric Prince, Sheogorath. This common interpretation was fueled by the wearer descending into a mental state of paranoia, anxiety and depression which usually ended in homicidal or suicidal urges.

This 'Descent into Madness' was unique to each wearer and could manifest itself as an intense 24hours of absolute insanity or be expressed over several years as the wearer slowly became more obsessive and paranoid to an extent where they would become unrecognizable by the ones closest to them. That was the case of the last known holder of this Daedric Artifact.

A reclusive and wealthy family, who prided themselves on the horses they bred in the hills, north-east of Riften, came about this pendent. The man of the house was already a proud and domineering man and yet over the next several months he had fits of domestic violence, near constant mumbling and a detachment from his family and stable hand staff. It all ended on a lovely Sundas morning when he took the wood-chopping axe and went around slashing at his staff whilst laughing like a maniac. He went inside his huge manor, grabbed his wife and two young sons and proceeded to lock himself and his family in the basement with no food or water. That was the last anyone ever saw the family.

Many years later, the manor sits amongst the hills, decaying and well forgotten. A young, inquisitive nord lady by the name of Wyldfyre stumbles across this once-grand building and plucks up her courage to look inside, even though her intuition is telling her to keep away. The next events can only be described as totally unexpected and absolutely crazy...

(No positions available at the moment)

This is an adventure Roleplay, starting out in the city of Riften and ending up at the Blue Palace, Solitude. It follows the story of Wyldfyre, who, after finding this Daedric influenced artifact, gets tasked by the Mad God himself to bring it to his shrine in Solitude. Young and inexperienced, Wyldfyre needs help to traverse the dangerous wilds of Skyrim and so asks help from her Mage friend, Elenwen, who has an understanding of Daedric influences. Wyldfyre also needs a Warrior Bodyguard and an experienced Ranger if she has any hope to deliver this bizarre amulet.

The journey will be fraught with danger as Molag Bal has always had an interest in The Madstone for the leadership bonuses it grants the wearer and his Dremora Champion, Raqwitch has been tasked with retrieving it. The Daedra know the only way the wearer of the amulet can be relieved of it, is by the Hand of Sheogorath or directly off the wearer’s corpse.

    _________________________________________________________________________________

This Role play is co-written by Shadowkitty and myself. Shadowkitty will be playing the role of Wyldfyre and I will be role playing the apprentice mage, Elenwen.

At this point in time we need a physical bodyguard and an experienced ranger. These characters will be met in or around Riften and be enlisted (through discussion) to help in the journey. They may be friends of Wyldfyre, mercenaries for hire or just random Samaritan who sees Wyldfyre as a lady who needs help.

At this point in time we only need these two spots filled, HOWEVER, as this is an adventure, there will be points in the journey where we interact with other characters and they may choose to continue with us to Solitude. If you are interested in this Roleplay but do not want to fill the Bodyguard or Ranger position, you may submit your CC and we will try to integrate you into the adventure when the time is right. If you are wanting to do this, please provide a reason why your character wants to come with us, what unique abilities your character brings to the group and where your character may be encountered.

This RP adheres to the general rules of role playing. Those who need a refresher can go here (http://skyrimforum.com/sf/threads/general-rules.15761/). We have a few more that you will be agreeing to when you are accepted into the Roleplay.
    • You are to post regularly, and your posts must have decent volume to them. At least two paragraphs. Exceptions may apply, such as when quick back and forward dialogue is being exchanged.
    • If you unable to post please let us know and then either Shadowkitty or myself will temporarily take over your character to keep the story flowing. There is nothing worse than waiting for one person to post. People get bored and it kills the Roleplay. So please, if you really want to join then stick to your commitment, respect your fellow Roleplayers, or you will be asked to leave and someone else will take over the position. As this will only be a small group, we need to be mindful of keeping the story flowing.
    • This is an 18+ Roleplay. We don't require photo ID but keep in mind that Adult Themes will be featured throughout the Roleplay.
    • All Out-of-Character comments or questions must NOT be written in the In-Character thread. There are no exceptions to this rule and you will be asked to edit it out if you break this rule.
So, for now we are recruiting for the positions of a bodyguard/warrior, and a scout/ranger. Indicate your interest to us and submit your CC in the thread below. State to us why your character would fit the role. If you have not Roleplayed before, can you also submit a sample of your writing so that we can see your writing style. Please be mindful of grammar and spelling and how your character interacts with others.

    Characters:
The Madgod awaits you. Good luck!

    Mistress of Shadows
Hello fellow rp'ers. I thought I would post up my CC first so you can get a feel for Wyldfyres character and so you can see if your character you have in mind will gel well with this RP. My colour for conversations in the RP will be this.

    Name: Wyldfyre
    Age: 19
    Sex: Female
    Sexuality: likes Male companionship
Origins: A remote, isolated Village in the highlands.
Race: Nord, from an ancient strain.
    Class: Archer, Hunter, Adventurer
Affiliations: None as of yet, she is new to Skyrim.
    Religion: Prays to The All-Maker
    Alignment: Pure/Good
Afflictions: none physical but is emotionally a little vulnerable
    Relationship Status: Single
Property: none, wherever the road takes her
Appearance: Tall, feminine build, with semi-long fiery red hair. Smooth tanned skin due to life outdoors. Brilliant green eyes and full lips. Faint blue tribal tattoo down the left side of her face. Three clawed scar across her right thigh from a sabre cat. There is a sensual grace about her even though she is completely unaware of it.
    15095-1-1334437040.jpg

Clothing: Large yellow stone amulet with silver detail on a silver chain. Brown Suede leather pants, leather boots. Brown leather lace-up corset with linen bodice. Green Suede gauntlets and matching overskirt. Wide soft brown leather belt with steel buckles, on it hangs a small pouch on one side and her steel dagger is sheathed on the other. She wears her crossbow and bolts slung across her back and carries an old leather satchel. She also has a long, heavy brown traveller’s cloak that has fur lining the hood.
    705688-1370222771.jpg

Weapons: current bow is a small, compact crossbow. Steel dagger on her belt, another slimmer one hidden in her boot.
    P23641-T0-W1000-H1000-Bg-gmi-cb24-3-1.jpg

Combat tactics: Wyldfyre has not had much combat experience, although in her village they did have hand to hand sparring contests, which she was quite good at. She is deadly with her crossbow, but again, has not really had the need to use it on humans. She can wield a dagger somewhat well and will use it when in close quarters. She knows that she will need training in one handed weapons.

Magic: small amount of destruction, mainly fire and frost. And a little healing.

Personality: Wyldfyre has seen more than she would care to, and has lost everyone she ever cared about. This makes her reluctant to get close to people. In saying that she has a kind heart to those who deserve it and is a fierce friend to those she lets in. She is still a little naive to the ways of Skyrim and relationships, having lived so isolated in her village. She is extremely proficient with her bow (she was a hunter) and can fall back onto destruction magic if needed. Though she uses fire reluctantly. She is also very feisty and has found she enjoys male companionship. She is brave and will try anything and only asks for help reluctantly.

Likes: Animals, men, mead, exploring, the snow, water and swimming, honesty
Dislikes: Falmar, Bandits, injustice, skeevers, an empty bottle, liars,

Bio: Wyldfyre lived in a small village in an isolated valley in the mountains. Her clan resembled more a Skaal village than the modern day Nords, and still looked on The All-Maker as their one and only deity. Wyldfyre lived there with her Mother and Brother. They had lost their father when she was young. Their family hunted for the clan, supplying all their meat and furs. Briefly, Wyldfyre escaped a deadly attack on her village by Falmor, when her brother sacrificed his own life to save hers. She lost her way in the wilds and found herself in Skyrim where she has since travelled, doing odd jobs and making a living off her hunting abilities.

    And the Amulet:
    Amulet.png
Silver chain, silver filigree detailing around and under the stone. Stone is a pure yellow, unflawed material, still unidentified.

She choose to spend most of her time reading, as back home was a verbally abusive and arrogant father, who was heavily involved in both war and politics. Her mother wasn't much better and valued her social status and shopping far more than Elenwen and her 18year old brother, Volanaro.

Volanaro, who was the only person in the family to cop his fathers physical abuse, snapped and fled the islands. Elenwen, being the only person who cared about him, soon went after him.

With only the knowledge that the only person Elenwen's family knew outside the Isles was an old family friend who lived in Solitude, Elenwen left and visited Radiant Raiments. Her Aunt Taarie told Elenwen that she had seen Volanaro a few weeks ago but didn't know where he went. Solitude and the surrounding areas provided no extra information and the trail for her brother went cold.

Elenwen than went to Winterhold as her brother was into magic and instead of finding her brother, she enrolled into the college and began practicing the arcane arts. With no leads as to the whereabouts of Volanaro, the search has come to a standstill and Elenwen has to decided to settle down in Skyrim. She has established herself at The College of Winterhold, where she studies various magic schools as well as Deadric Influences and the effects of magic in Nordic Society.

Just remember guys that if you are trying to think of a reason in your CC why you would be going with Wyldfyre on this journey (other than being a sword/bow for hire) Than feel free to run some ideas past Shadowkitty.

She prob wouldnt appreciate it if you wrote that your character and Wyldfyre have been hunting together for years, but with some discussion I'm sure you can work through some unique and interesting reasons how you fit into this adventure party :)

    Xorguk The Beastmaster
I have wondered alone for many years, yet sometimes even I grow weary of this endless solitude.

Hobbies: Traveling, Exploring, Reading, Writing (in his journal)
Family: None that he cares to remember
    Personality
Xorguk is not very social, due to the fact that he spends little to no time near the other races of Tamriel. Although he is quite a man to talk with if you want to hear a good story.
Positive Traits: Friendly, Tolerant, Easily Satisfied, Generous
Negative Traits: Ill-Mannered, Competitive, Dangerously curious

    Aspirations: None
Quirks: Scratches any surface he gets his hand on when he has nothing better to do
Philosophy: Xorguk dosen't follow the Code of Malacath. If he did, he would have died when he was way younger, as old orcs are generally considered useless. He tries to remain a calm and tolerant person, he won't pick a fight with anyone unless directly provoked.
    Skills
    Master:
One Handed: Xorguk trained his entire life with his two waraxes. Not many can say they fought him and survived, and there's about no one that can say they bested him.
Archery: Xorguk's skills with a bow were always required for when he was hunting. He has equal training in Archery to an Elven master marksman.
    Expert:
Light Armor/Heavy Armor: Xorguk uses a mixture of light and heavy armor, and he is most eficient doing so.
Enchanting: Xorguk has picked up a lot of soul gems in his travels, and he finds enchanting fascinating. Although he will always feel like he's a poor enchanter, his enchanters are better then decent.
    Adept:
Alchemy: Xorguk always picks flowers and ingredients that he finds. Thus he gained quite some skill as an alchemist.
Smithing: He smiths his own armors from what he can get his hands on in the wilderness.
Unarmed: Xorguk had his fair share of brawls, not only with humans but also with the animals. He is quite good at unarmed combat.
    Apprentice:
Two Handed/Block: He has little training in two handed weapons, or blocking, however Xorguk knows a fair share.
Free Running/Climbing: When he has to get to things quicker, running is his ally. He is decent at climbing and free runing, having quite good health and stamina.
    Health: Extraordinary
    Stamina: Above Average
    Magicka: Low
    Appearance
Xorguk is very large, even for an orc. He looks quite intimidating, few people would want to anger him.
    Height: 6.8
    Weight: 117 kg
    Build: Muscular
    Hair Length: Long
    Hair Color: Black
    Facial hair:Clean Shaved
    Eye Color: Blue
Scars: Multiple small scars all over his face and body.
Warpaint: Scar Tatto on his left arm
    rexxar_by_tamplierpainter-d49q2su.jpg
    Gear
Armor: Just like in the pic, however his chest is protected by a hard leather vest. He has an orcish shield tied to his back, which can't usually be seen because of the fur cloak.
Weapons: His main weapons are his two axes - The Tamer and The Punisher(the punisher is the one he holds in his left hand in the pic). The tamer has a steal health enchantment, and the punisher a steal stanima. He also has two bows - an orcish longbow and a hunting shortbow. He only uses the longbown to hunt, and the shortbow is used in any other scenario.
Misc: Xorguk's pet companion, Cripple, is a young bear that journeys along Xorguk and helps him in combat. Looks just like in the pic, except he has leather armor on his back and head.
    History/Biography
Childhood: Xorguk was born and raised in Orsinium, the largest orcish stronghold out there. His father was the chief, and his mother was the first wife his father had. He learned the art of hunting, smithing, and fighting there. He lived by the code of Malacath, which he always questioned. He hated believing in something just because he was told to do so. That angered his father and the other orcs in the hold.
Teenage: But Xorguk held strong to his lack of belief, even when he was a teenager. Most orcs disagreed with him, and treated him like an outcast. He didn't need the love of the orcs, for he had a special talent of talking to the wild animals, and taming them. He first started with the small birds, but larger beasts followed. When he was 17 one of his elders picked a fight on him, for not worshiping Malacath. The words they spitted upon eachother turned to fists, and the fists turned to axe. Out of anger, Xorguk killed his elder, and was cast out of Orsinium. But things were looking even more bad for him. He gained the title of "The Pagan", and he was banned from all orcish strongholds.
Adult: So he took on a life of adventure, he became a lone wonderer, circling Tamriel and watching how the other races fared, while gazing his eyes upon the beutiful landscapes of the world. In his travels, he happened to meet a female elven hunter that shared his philosophy. They fell in love and traveled the world togather. That all ended on a sad day, where their hunting took to Elseweyr. There they confused one of the larger khajiit breeds with a wild animal, and while hunting it down, the khajiit rained upon the two with blades and arrows ready. Xorguk's love died, and his life was filled with sorrow. At the moment he thought that it was Malacath that punnished him for not respecting the code. So he tried to worship Malacath once more. The first and last thing he had to do was ending his life in combat, for at his age he was already considered old, and outlived his usefulness. He went around Tamriel and challenged strong individuals to fight and end his life. He fought many, from breton battle mages, to argonian assassins, to master redguard swordsmen. But no one was able to kill him. The closer he was to dying was when fighting an Altmer wizzard, that rained frost and fire on him. Still, Xorguk won. He then realised that Malacath isn't worth worshiping, when he was on the brink of losing his life against the altmer. So he took to hunting and traveling again, this time with his animal companions. He had seen all corners of Tamriel, and he wishes to go even further. With his old age, and with the time he spent hunting, rather than fighting, his skills diminished, he is but a shadow of his former self. But make no mistake, Xorguk is strong enough to defeat 3 giants with their own clubs.

    BATMAN!
Since Xorguk spends most of his time travelling and hunting, maybe he could have met Wyldfyre that way. They both tried to hunt a deer or something, and both of their arrows hit it at the same time, so they shared the meal. Just a little story I randomly came up with. Xorguk will join the group(assuming you let me in in the first place) wherever you guys want him to, it's best that it's outside of cities, on the roads or in the wilderness. He'l most likely be travelling/hunting with his pet bear companion.

Looks good Doom. I'm not 100% sure with the bear idea as yet though because an idea that Kitty and myself are developing is that animals have a certain distrust of the bearer of the amulet. This is to prevent Wyldfyre from jumping straight on the horse drawn wagon outside Riften and getting to Solitude that directly...

Other than that I like your CC, we will wait a bit to give other people a chance to post and take it from there :) is Xorguk taking the warrior role or ranger role??

    Blackdoom59

    BATMAN!
I'l cut the bear off, then. Hard to say what role I'l get for him, thinking warrior, although he can handle a bow just fine. He could fill both or any of the roles, if you ask me. I can wait until someone else posts a CC, and let my guy be a warrior if the next person picks ranger, or vice-versa.

    Champion of Grottos and Gremlins
    Name: Blyeon (Bli-é-on)
    Nicknames: None
    Race: Nord
    Fame: Unknown
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil

    Gender: Male
    Class: Close Range Powerhouse
    Faction: None
Blyeon.png I drew this, can't do better, don't judge... The picture is indeed owned by me!
Looks: Ridiculously tall. Even though it is unlikely for him to ever take off his hood, below it lies a pale face, with only a functional blue eye, being the left blind one replaced by a fake blue gem with no value. It is unknown how many scars are scattered across his body, but not even his lips, nose and eyebrows were spared of those markings.

    Age: Unknown
    Marital Status: Single, alone
    Current Residence: None
Religion: He is aware of the existence of Arkay, the God of Death, as well as Daedra, wanting a chance to defy them in any way possible

    War: Neutral
Diseases: Blindness in one eye and depression

Skills: Blyeon is very dangerous once he gets near his opponents. Under his robes, he keeps many heavy chains with unknown length, which he can use to lash his foes or hang them. If he instead gets out of his sleeve a large iron ball, he will most likely fling it like a morning star. Alternatively, he might use his scythe as fearsomely to sweep whoever stands in his path. Still, what he has in the offensive strength, he lacks in social or magic strength.

Personality: Blyeon is cold and distant most of the times, rarely caring much for the well-being of those near him. Still, he recognizes the meaning of teamwork and will protect the allies if he actually finds a use to them. Other than that, he is also brutal and carefree about feelings, finding them to be what makes humans weak. He believes in achieving the end he seeks no matter what, and will pursue a vengeance for as long as he breathes. He won't rest at all costs until feeling fullfilled. Still, he is capable of pretending he cares to use others as means to his ends, and won't give away his true personality so soon.

    Equipment:
    • Grey robes with long sleeves and a hood that shadows his face completely
    • A scythe that has a light blue blade, with a few iron rings around the wooden pole. At its bottom, a small crystal blue sting allows him to execute foes when they're down. If spun above his head, the scythe's blade is loosened, hanging to its pole by a thick chain, allowing Blyeon to do some short ranged attacks instead of melee
    • A leather vest behind the robes that protects from mild damage
    • Countless chains, wrapped around his wrists, neck, chest, shins and waist
    • A soul gem with his dog, Tears' soul inside
    Spells: N/A
    Powers:
    • Blyeon's Torment - Blyeon can bury his scythe on the ground and make the blade burst below his enemies after a few seconds, dealing an astonishing ammount of damage that is very hard to predict or block. This consumes stamina, as the chains move around his body, cut his breathing and tire him
    • Tear them Apart! - Tears' ghostly figure explodes out of Oblivion when Blyeon clashes his staff against the ground, defying the Daedra themselves, and mauls any enemy he finds. It is in vain, for the beast's remains are not capable of showing love, merely recognizing its master as the superior
Combat Style: Blyeon is able to take some damage, and deal a threatening amount of it at the same time in close range. He is a force to be reckoned with once he raises his scythe, and ranged weaponry is advisable to fight him off. When the need to fight enemies at long distances bursts, he will try to tangle his chains around their legs and drag them closer to him.

    Health: High
    Magicka: Low
    Stamina: Above Average

Likes: Animals, Vengeance, Inflicting pain on those he hates, Death, Meditating
Dislikes: Daedra and their worshippers, Animal Cruelty, Unnecessary suffering, Most People
    Acquaintances: None, always alone

Bio: Blyeon's story, like many others, began when he was a lovable youngster that earned his bread of every day. He had a dog called Tears, belonging to his dead father, being his truthful companion, the only friend he had, other than his wife and two girls. Tears was old, but kept him company while Blyeon used his scythe to gather wheat from his prosperous fields. Far away, he could see a large structure made of rock, and he had never figured out what it was, thanks to the distance. One day, all would change. His dog started running with a speed he hadn't seen with it a long time ago, towards the strange building. Blyeon's two legs hardly kept up with the canine's four, so his last sight of the mutt was when it entered the surprisingly unlocked doors of the temple. His steps became weaker, as he approached the building, and soon he would be allowed to her a sinister chanting. It became more hostile as he approached, scarier and actually hurting his soul.

At first, he could hear Tears barking, which encouraged him to enter the strange castle. But a few steps later, he would come to regret that choice. The door behind him closed and locked itself once he was far enough inside. The dog's only noise heard afterwards was a continous whine that got weaker at every second. After a big run down a few marble stairs, he came to a basement to find many worshippers of Molag Bal, being their leader about to stab his dog with a killing blow through its heart.

A strange rage consumed Blyeon right then. It was more than likely that filthy Daedra had something to do with it. Blyeon raised his staff and scythed his way through the many worshippers that tried to kill him with daggers and spells. Once even the Daedric champion had fallen, Molag spoke to him, insulting his temptation to rage. Then he would find himself trapped between four walls, all covered in a dark thick liquid. Soon, out of that same substance, came sharp chains against his body, scarring him permanently everywhere in his body. His last sight would be himself, dying, trying desperately to grab the soul gem where his dog would be trapped in.

Once he woke up, he was no longer himself, despite being still at the temple. Taking off the mysterious hood that someone had put on him pained him unbearably, and there were chains circling around his limbs like snakes, that moved according to his thoughts and desires. All his scars hurt him.

He managed to crawl back to his house and find his wife and daughters afraid of him, thinking Blyeon being a complete stranger to them. Out of the same rage that allowed him to kill the other worshippers, Blyeon uncontrollably killed them three, and fell to his knees, crying afterwards.

It took him long to recover from the loss, but once he did so, Blyeon devoted his life to persecuting Daedra worshippers and killing their champions, causing the gods themselves to suffer a little at those losses.

Once he was at the inn of Solitude, Blyeon found a young girl with a necklace, which he immediatly recognized as daedric origin, and tried to fake his interest in helping her, hoping it would lead him to a Daedric Prince to make him or her payMisc:
    • Blyeon hates Molag Bal the most, among all the Daedra
    • He has nightmares of his family and Tears dying in front of him, powerless to stop it, so he meditates instead of sleeping, using the chains as legs while 'levitating'.
    • The blue material his blade is made of is aproximately as hard as a mineral between orcish and stalhrim
    • Blyeon is capable of distinguishing a daedric artifact on sight
    Enemy Factions: Daedra cults

    Most hated foes: Daedric beings
Weakness: His line of sight is reduced and he has not many defenses against ranged foes
Strength: Blyeon shows no mercy, and hates whoever opposes him, making him deliver every blow with the same terminating force

Description: Molag Bal, upon setting his minions after Blyeon
Blyeon is the degenerate that defiled many of my shrines. It is not punishment, but retribution. Bring him to Neptilon, my champion, and let his blade end his defiance once and for all. No man that defies Molag Bal shall live while my orders of dominion are burdened by my followers!

Color: "Turn around... and feel my agony!"

    Couple of things Writes:

    - We are starting in Riften and going to Solitude
    - Wyldfyre is a slow to trust kind of girl that has just been talked to by a Crazy Deadric Prince. I'm not sure she would trust the 1st grim reaper in chains that she comes across.. even if he is assuring her that he hates Molag Bal (which at the beginning of the Rp she doesnt know that Malog is after her anyway).
    - In general Blyeon seems quite powerful. Or at least he has that impression. I can just imagine that if the group were to go up against a couple of Dremora, he would rip them apart very quickly and it wouldnt be the fight-for-survival kind of story that we are aiming for...

I do like your CC and it's very creative (coming from you I'm not surprised :)) and you do get bonus points for your picture! I'm just not sure if he would fit in so well, but we shall wait to get Kitty's opinion...

I agree with the points Irishman made. I think we are looking for a more "human" like character, although I dearly love your drawing Writes ;) Would love to see a different character you can offer to us, if you want to that is :) Maybe more like the ranger we are looking for and not one where we would all be scared of being murdered in our sleep with. :p

Cudos on the CC though, It's really awesome and I hope you get to use the character in another RP.
