    The Imperial Paladin
Every place has dark secrets. Some, are darker than others. Such is the case in this story. In the fiefdom of Anticlere, in the Breton homeland of Highrock, there once existed a noble house, of the name of Gravus. They dwelt in a grand castle, on top of a large cliff, overlooking a small hamlet. In the old days, the village was plagued by necromancers and other foul creatures. The house Gravus responded with a force of knights and men at arms, the lords of the castle leading many assaults themselves. For centuries, the battles continued, and house Gravus continued these wars against evil, even as the rest of the Breton people fought their petty wars of succession and conquest.

The royal house lost many of its' people, and gained itself the enmity of dozens of necromancers, liches, and other foul creatures. For every noble warrior that fell in battle, the enemy gained a mindless minion. Eventually, their foes took the upper hand, pressing the noble house again and again- to the point of breaking. However, their end came not from without, but from within. One of the Gravus sons, fascinated with the occult, and necromantic arts, became ensnared. A night of summoning, terror, and bloodshed took place, and come the dawn, house Gravus was no more.

The village below endured though, with necromancers and cultists using the peasant population for their dark rituals. The castle on the cliff became known among the commoners as Château de désespoir. As the decades passed the village and its castle became largely forgotten, and a forest sprang up around the castle and village. This is no normal forest, however, but a blighted place, filled with darkness, and foul, mutated beings, that prey on foolish hunters or merchants. The village has become a place under siege, with palisades and high wooden walls. The castle above became a cursed place, where screams of agony and mad cackling can be heard on moonless nights.

Shortly after the end of the civil war, a Breton lord, naming himself as the lost descendant of the Gravus family appeared. He waits in the city of Crossmore, south of the village, and has sent out an announcement: Any who help him reclaim his ancient home and purge the surrounding lands of evil will be rich beyond their dreams.

This is a grand opportunity for the brave, foolish, greedy, and desperate. However, there is no guarantee these mercenaries, adventurers, and 'heroes' will be able to overcome what lurks in the woods, and the villagers have become less and less trusting of outsiders, due to their years of bitter strife.

    I'll figure out a CC

Would you mind holding off for a little while? I've got a template planned out that I kind of want people to follow.

    Thesius

    The Imperial Paladin
    Rules are as follows:

1- No godmodding. That means no super powered weapons, spells or armours. Anything that can do massive amounts of damage, or stop basically all damage counts as godmodding. Won't be tolerated.

2- I'd prefer experienced writers only please. This won't be something for beginners.

3- Be active. I'd like to see a post at least once every two weeks, at least.

4- Grammar and spelling. I think this is very important. It makes your posts look better, and easier to read.

5- Expect mature themes. Cursing, gore, sex, etc. This is an 18+ RP after all.

6- Character wise. You can have as many as you like so long as you can control them properly. NPCs' are acceptable.

    ==========================

Okay, so, I'm planning to make this RP very unique. It will focus character development, and dealing with moral dilemmas, and not all the enemies you encounter may be vanquished through strength of arms.

    Character Template. Please follow it.

Thanks, Shaded. I just hope it can live up to roleplays like Nightfall and Mist and Shadows.

Well, I may join this later on, but for now I need to concentrate on Dusk and try to get Relic more organized. Best of luck with this though.

    A Friendly Brit
    Name: Ka'arak "Kar" Rishul
    Gender: Male
    Race: Redguard
Age and DoB: 38, 17th First Seed
    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
    Class: Rogue
    Weapons:

Tyriniel - Ka'arak's bow. It is compact to allow for easy movement and fast aiming, and has an extremely quiet, almost silent draw. It is powerful enough to kill or mortally wound most, if not all lightly and medium armored targets, but will simply ricochet off of heavy armor. To allow for different scenarios, he always carries a variety of arrows that allow him to respond to different threats.

    Miaea__s_Bow_by_Aikurisu.jpg

Barbed heads - These arrows are composed of an extremely fine point to maximize pressure on impact, allowing deep penetration into the target through light or medium armor, so that the long barbs that follow it can slide into the target. These tips are normally coated with a form of medium-strength venom and are extremely difficult to remove due to the long barbs on the head, allowing enough time for the venom to entirely enter the bloodstream and almost indefinitely sealing the fate of the target.

Helical flights - These arrows have flights that spin around the arrow rather than running straight down the shaft, causing the arrow to spin during flight and resulting in a much deeper penetration of the target and causing the arrow to spin once inside the target, causing the ripping of the targets muscle and potentially organs once inside. It is also possible that it passes through a target with a lucky flight path.

Pyro tipped - The head of the arrow is tipped with a special fire rune manufactured by an old friend named Kelvin, and thus are limited in supply. They penetrate like any other arrow but once inside they explode, causing the target to combust from the inside out, instantly killing the target outright. Due to the nature of crafting, however, they are extremely difficult to replace and thus are only used as a last resort.

Ebontipped - These arrows have the head tipped with a point of ebony, greatly increasing their weight but also their stopping power. These are the only arrows that have a chance of penetrating heavy armor in Ka'arak's arsenal.

Valleryx - This is Ka'arak's blade. It is rarely used other than to defend himself if an opponent gets too close, as its positioning (held backwards to run down his forearm) is optimal for defense but is impractical for attacking the opponent in any forms bar cheap slashes.

    Armour:

    elven_ranger_by_atohas-d76gp5j.jpg

    Combat Preference:
Ka'arak is primarily an archer and secondarily a skirmisher. He prefers to remain hidden and outwit his opponent, taking them down from afar, but if need be he is competent enough to defend himself with his dagger against moderately skilled attackers. He is also relatively skilled in trapping.

    Character Appearance:

    Redguard-782-medium.jpeg

Ka'arak is 5'11" tall and weighs in around 170lbs. He has short black hair and a shaggy goatee, which he does not allow to grow out past its current length. His skin is dark like most redguards, and his eyes are an almost yellowish shade of green. He bears no scars, and wears no warpaint, preferring not to have any features that may make him especially distinguishable. His skin has began to wrinkle due to his age and has taken on an almost leathery look, and his body is toned despite not having an incredible amount of muscle on him.

Personality: Ka'arak hails from the Lawful Good alignment; he lives by a strict moral code that sways from hurting any who are innocent, and heavily believes that others should follow in his footsteps. Due to this he come accross as arrogant or judgmental but at the end of the day he does only what he feels is right. He is intelligent and knowledgeable about survival, possessing a rather unique skillset. However, he is tricky to befriend and rarely trusts those he does not know, although he will not let this hold him back from helping them if they need it. It would be true to say that he sees himself as somewhat of a moral compass for those lost in a world of little morality.

Likes: Nature, swimming, helping others, guiding others in moral decisions.

Dislikes: Poor moral judgments, turnips, sabre cats, superstition.

Quirks: Does not follow a religion, enjoys swimming and being in water a little too much - he will attempt to soak at any opportunity, as he finds it calming. Fletches all of his own arrows apart from Pyro tipped ones.

Fears: A world without law, death, bandits, bears, armor-plated opponents, necromancy, lightning magic, illusion magic, corrupt officials.

    Phobias: Mild Claustrophobia

History: Ka'arak was born in Dragonstar, Hammerfell, near the border with High Rock, as the son of a young and aspiring Redguard noble and his wife. His father had dream of becoming a well-known, wealthy and powerful noble in Hammerfell ever since childhood, and the arrival of his first son was set to be the moment that would secure his bloodline. Ka'arak's grandfather had been a simple smith, but had always encouraged his son to aspire to be more, which is exactly what he did. His father saw Ka'arak as the son that would lead his armies in a blaze of glory as he united all of Hammerfell under the banner of the self-appointed "House Rishul".

His father invested the small fortune he owned in a small fortress, and hired a household guard. He was determined to gather power, and once Ka'arak was seven his father began to teach him the way of the sword and bow so that he would become strong and talented. He hired a retired commander to teach him, but his lessons were strict and he frequently beat Ka'arak when he made mistakes. However, Ka'arak's father grew bold, and reckless.

Eventually, when Ka'arak was 11 years old and ample with a bow (although his skills with a sword were still poor), his father decided that it was time to act. A recent uprising between local lords had caused a dispute over land and a small-scale civil war had broken out between them. Seeing an opportunity to eliminate two birds with one stone, he made his move. His father marched all of his 500 soldiers against the squabbling Lords, and led his army at the Battle of the Bleeding Hill. His father had no battle command experience, and the three-way battle turned into a massacre. His father was forced into retreat but he and four generals were captured. The victorious Lord moved on to capture both of the other Lords' holdings, including Ka'arak, his mother and his infant sister.

Ka'arak's father was put before the King of Hammerfell, tried for High Treason. Inevitably, him and his generals were hung in front of a large crowd and his holdings were razed. Ka'arak was disturbingly unmoved by the executions; his father had done wrong in the eyes of the law and had thus been punished, his actions having caused the deaths of over 1,000 men and would have moved on to kill many more. It was a clear indication to Ka'arak that those who wrong others ultimately end up answering for their crimes. Ka'arak's mother was allowed to reside with the Lord who had bested her husband, and became a domestic servant. She was young and pretty, and spent most of her time serving him in bed than anywhere else, much to Ka'arak's disgust.

Ka'arak, however, was given a choice. The one he chose resulted in a 12 year old Redguard boy joining the guard detachment in Dagerfall, undergoing intensive training. They quickly realized that his strength lied with archery rather than the blade, but he was trained in both nonetheless. His skills developed quickly, and by the time he had reached 18 he was a keen marksman, rarely missing a shot. He had, however, never been called into action with the guards and thus felt he was wasted there. He longed for adventure, so he went on a trek alone accross Hammerfell, to Fort Strongfall, where his mother resided as the mistress of his father's rival Lord.

Upon seeing Ka'arak, his mother broke down and confessed all of her crimes. She had poisoned the Lord's wife and children, and killed both maids that had discovered so in an attempt to earn his favor in marry back into the nobility. Now she was struggling with the guilt. However, Ka'arak cared not for her wants. She had killed, and he felt he needed to deliver justice. His mother begged for death, and so he drove a knife into her heart where she stood and fled, gone before her lifeless body had hit the floor. He left Hammerfell, through the mountains and into southern High Rock.

In High Rock, Ka'arak sought work for a nobleman from a small southern house, taking up a role as a scout. Living effectively alone in the wild with only nature for company, Ka'arak learned vital skills needed for survival in the wild like how to hunt, skin and cook animals, fishing, building shelters and starting fires, and his personal favourite, trapping. His skills suited him perfectly to his work as a forward scout, and it was out in the wilds that he developed his love for bodies of fresh water; after a long day of tracking and watching , writing reports, there was nothing that could compare to soaking in water and washing away the day's dirt. It became somewhat of a hobby, bordering on an obsession.

When he was 24 years old, Ka'arak was approached by the High Rock Rangers. They provided him with further skills like poison-making, fletching and bow-crafting. He was also taught simple potion-making. However, Ka'arak refused their offer of a place among them after he had absorbed as much information as possible during his preliminary trial period, and departed from their service. He also left the service of the nobleman, and decided to live in the wild. First, though, he would be travelling to the city of Jehanna to gather supplies.

On the journey, Ka'arak stumbled accross a group of bandits, rummaging among the wreckage of the caravan they had just raided. He waited, hoping they would pass, but they soon pulled a screaming Breton man from the wreckage. He was dressed in the garb commonly associated with Adept Mages. His face was badly bruised, his red hair singed and dirty. They were prepared to kill him, but Ka'arak intervened. He shot down two before being noticed, and dispatched the first to approach with his crude iron dagger. The other two were able to overwhelm him, and though he did get a stab on one, the other wrestled him to the ground, pushing a knife to his throat. He shut his eyes, but instead her choking, the trickle of blood onto his face and then the weight of the man fall onto him.

The Breton pulled the body off of Ka'arak and helped him to his feet, introducing himself as Kelvin Mallory. He thanked Ka'arak for saving him, and offered him anything he could salvage from the wrecked caravan. It was supposedly a weapon caravan travelling from Jehanna to Wayrest. It was among the wrecked caravan that Ka'arak discovered Valleryx.

The two traveled to Jehanna together; a three day trek along bandit-ridden roads. With minimal delay they reached the city and Ka'arak was taken in by Kelvin and his wife. He stayed around a week before realizing the impracticality of his initial plan, and instead decided to become a figure of justice, with a twist.

He took up the mantle as a Bounty Hunter for five years, amassing personal wealth which he donated to the Rangers. He took down a number of HVT bandit chiefs and even a renegade warlord near Northpoint. Ka'arak's work took him all over High Rock and on occasion into Skyrim. At 29 years old, however, he had grown bored. He took up work where he could as an escort on archaeological expeditions into the many ancient ruins of High Rock, but had little interest in the actual aim, instead just enjoying the chance to explore. A year was enough to drive Ka'arak from the job, and he returned to Jehanna.

His reunion with Kelvin was bittersweet; Kelvin had lost a leg to a bandit attack when it was caught in flaming wreckage, but he did have two new children, a boy and a girl. He lived with the family, providing for them because Kelvin no longer could, feeding them from what he could hunt and forage. He taught Kelvin's older son, 13 years old, how to hunt and which plants to pick, so that he could provide for the family once Ka'arak moved on. As a thanks, Kelvin offered a special service for Ka'arak.

Kelvin had been developing spells that could be applied indefinitely to weapons much like enchantments, but with one-time active effects rather than passive effects. He offered a service, by enchanting some arrows of Ka'arak's with a fire rune. This was a service only Kelvin could supply. Ka'arak responded by giving Kelvin's son his bow, so that he could continue to keep the family fed.

Now a 30 year old veteran of the wilds, Ka'arak pulled on his old knowledge of bow-crafting to create a new bow from a mixture of quicksilver and wood. He created Tyriniel; an elm wood bow with quicksilver guards and inlay. It became his pride and joy.

Ka'arak was not done with the wilds. He returned to the rangers, who accepted him with open arms, and he served as a vigilante of the King of High Rock for years before he began to notice that even this sacred order was not untainted. Ka'arak grew suspicious of two of his officers, believing that their newly amassed personal wealth may be flowing from the banks of the Ranger Corps. After a document discovered in their office confirmed his suspicions, Ka'arak presented the evidence to his Commanding Officer, who had both imprisoned, and both were eventually executed for Treason and Embezzling Funds. Ka'arak could no longer stay among the Corps. He headed to the nearby town of Wayrest, renting a room and eventually hearing about an interesting opportunity. Rumor had it that the Lost Descendant of a house known as Gravus was looking for assistance. Ka'arak saw his opportunity to add another adventure to his list, and welcomed it with open arms, beginning the journey North to meet his soon-to-be employer.

    Here it is:

    Name: Elodie Maillet

    Gender: Female

    Race: Breton

Age and Date of Birth: 17, 1st Frostfall

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Mage

    Weapons: Destruction mage, daggers

Armour: Elodie does not wear armour, preferring dresses or mages robes when travelling. She wears leather boots when travelling, but will often will often take them off because she prefers to be barefoot.

Combat Preference: Elodie uses destruction magic, typically fire, in a battle. Being a mage, she tries to stay a fair distance away from her opponent, but rarely tries to hide or sneak up on them. She carries daggers to use in case an opponent gets too close. Though she denies it, she is quite vulnerable to brute force.

    Character Appearance:
    1421693249_1421637442_art-krasivye-kartinki-art-devushka-fantasy-1808265.jpg

Standing at 5'4, Elodie is a slim woman with very little muscle. She loves jewellery and often wears circlets and necklaces that she has stolen, despite this making her a target for thieves and bandits. Her skin is fair and flecked with scars on her body from battle but none on her face. She has light blue eyes and long brown hair. She wears rings that are enchanted with fire resistance.

    Personality:
Elodie is friendly to strangers and is rarely cruel towards others without reason. She enjoys violence, and is quick to turn to it if given reason. She is very brave in battle, recklessly so, and is overconfident in her abilities. She is not very loyal and if betraying another would benefit her, she would likely do so. She is very fond of valuables of any kind, especially jewellery and gems. If she sees something she likes, she has to have it, be it through honest work, theft, or sometimes even murder. She is obsessed with fire and has committed arson on too many occasions to count. Though she likes to put on a brave and tough front, she is still very much a young girl who is afraid of facing the world alone.

Likes: Fire, magic, fighting, jewellery, gold, forests, dresses
Dislikes: Bodies of water, armour, shoes, people who blindly follow the law

Quirks: She can't swim, she bites her lips when she is nervous or stressed, she doesn't like to wear shoes

Fears: Hurting someone she cares about, not having control, bodies of water

    Phobias: Aquaphobia

    History:
Elodie was born to a moderately wealthy pair of mages. They conducted research at the college of winterhold and owned a fairly large wooden cabin east of the college where Elodie spent most of her childhood.

When Elodie was five years old, she fell into the ocean near her home. The icey water pulled her towards it's depths and she was too afraid to even try to fight being pulled under. Her father reached in and dragged her out, saving her. Since this incident she has been too terrified of any body of water to even attempt to learn to swim.

Elodie showed an aptitude for magic from a young age and her parents tried to train her in their favoured areas of the arcane; restoration and illusion. However, she did not care much for these and instead received training from a friend of her parents at the college, a destruction mage. He saw much potential in this young girl and wanted to teach her what he knew so she could become his assistant.

Elodie blossomed under his training and was casting spells significantly more advanced than most mages her age. Her parents wanted her become a full time student at the college as soon as she came of age.

However, this was not to be. Whilst practicing destruction magic with her mentor, she accidentally cast a fireball at him when he did not have his wards up, and her spell burned off one of his legs beyond repair.

Her parents and her mentor were furious and she was banned from casting any destruction spells. Elodie practiced in secret, but was caught several times and tension in her home increased. They became more and more strict until she was barely allowed to leave her room.

Eventually, she was fed up with how she was living and in an arguably unwarranted rage burned down her home. She left her parents for good and spent the next two years travelling across Skyrim, stealing money and doing whatever she wanted. She was never the best thief, and her strategy of burning people when they caught her drew more attention than she hoped. She desired wealth and power, but was unsure how to obtain it so when she heard about the announcement in an inn, her decision to join was easy.

    The Angry One
    Name: Havarra

    Gender: Female

    Race: Khajiit

Age and Date of Birth: 19, 22nd of Hearthfire, 4E 182

    Sexual Preference: Bisexual.

    Class: Rogue/Thief

Weapons: Four daggers, usually hidden somewhere on her person.

Armour: Havarra believes the heavier armour one wears, the easier they are to catch. So, because of this, she wears light leather armour, coloured a dark grey, with a dark long sleeved tunic underneath.

Combat Preference : Havarra prefers to stay in the shadows, and not fight at all. Seeing as she's quite good at sneaking around, she almost never has to fight. However, when she does, she prefers to take her target by surprise. Usually, a quick flurry of knives takes care of whoever she happens to be facing.

Though not a trained duelist, she's learned from years of practice, and can cut down most of her enemies. So long as she catches them by surprise, of course. If, by ill luck, Havarra is caught in a drawn out fight, she'll often attempt to escape, by any means necessary. Even if it means abandoning those that are 'on her side'.

Character Appearance : Havarra is not terrifically muscled, though she shows no signs of undernourishment, either. She stands at 5'6", and weighs barely a hundred pounds. She has long, tapered ears, and black fur, all over. Her eyes are a golden yellow. She has a few minor scars, though none are visible, as they are old wounds, and her fur has since grown over them.

    Personality :
Havarra is a quiet woman, preferring to avoid interaction, unless given no other option. This stems from being mistrusted and mistrusting of most people, especially authority figures. She's also fairly bitter, due to her early life, and avoids getting close to others. Though she has no respect for the law, she tries to avoid blatantly breaking the law. Especially when she might get caught. Havarra cares only for herself, and will abandon anyone in order to ensure her own safety.

    Likes:
Outsmarting people, especially lawmen. Gold, gems.

    Dislikes:
    Bright lights, soldiers, honourable people.

    Quirks :
Plays with the tips of her ears when bored.

    Fears :
    Death, commitment.

    Phobias :
Autophobia (Fear of being alone)- more like abandoned. Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)-minor.

History : Havarra was born in northern Cyrodiil, to a family of honest traders. However, Nordic prejudices from Skyrim spread down to the north, and her family became suspected of thievery. After a string of thefts in the area of the town near the familys' dwelling, the family was arrested. When her parents refused to hand over the valuables, valuables they didn't have, they were hung. Havarra managed to escape, and left for Skyrim.

For most of her life, Havarra was on her own, honing her skills of thievery until she became one of the best. The thieves guild made several attempts to recruit her, but by that point, the young Khajiit had become a very mistrustful person. She lived in the shadows, most of the time on her own, and became fascinated with knives. Mostly, short, easily concealable weapons, that she took to carrying wherever she went.

For the most part, she had little need to use them, such was her skills at sneaking. But, there were times when violence was called for. Eventually, she became an expert in winning the savage, quick fights that broke out in her line of work. Eventually though, with the end of the war, and the increase in guard patrols, Havarra was forced to be more and more cautious. When she heard of an opportunity for gold and riches, she took the first available carriage ride to High Rock.

One night, after a succesful day of drinking and hunting, Torvin stumbled homewards.

Unfortunately, he slipped on the slick ice, and fell into one of braziers near the main gates. He struck his head as he fell, and was unable to escape the flames before he suffered serious burns on his back. His friends managed to haul him out of the flames, but it was too late. Luckily for Torvin, the local alchemist was able to mend his burns, and the damage to his muscles were not too great. Worse was the damage to his mental state.

Torvin developed a fear of open flames, which made him unable to work the forge alongside his father. He hid this intense fear behind months and months of training with weapons outside his fathers shop. Eventually, he became rather skilled with a glaive, and axes. Later, he trained in his free time with the Windhelm guard, though he never joined their ranks. After the civil war ended, word reached Windhelm of some noble lord in High Rock, looking for adventurers to help him reclaim his ancestral home. Eager for adventure, he left home, and began making his way to the Breton homeland.

    Drahkma

    Dashing Imperial Officer.
    Name: Gerard of Aldfort.

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

Age and Date of Birth: 29, 12th of Suns' Dusk.

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

Class: Knight of the Order of the Raven

Weapons: A steel greatsword, and a dagger tucked into his belt.

Armour: Gerard is encased in a full suit of plate armour, and under that, he is further protected by chainmail. Though lesser men would find this uncomfortable, Gerard has trained in the armour for years, and to him, it feels more like a second skin. He wears a helmet that conceals most of his face for maximum protection, also of steel. Over the armour, he wears a deep blue surcoat, with a sable raven imposed on the center.

    upload_2015-2-13_17-3-35.jpeg

Combat Preference : Gerard prefers to engage his enemies in one on one skirmishes, often relying on his initial charge to cut down those less experienced warriors. Once in the thick of the fighting, he lays about him with his greatsword. His skill with the weapon allows him to match even skilled duelists in close combat. Obviously, because of his heavy armour, and lack of ranged weapons, he is vulnerable to magical attacks and any ranged opponent with the means to punch through the plate armour and mail.

Character Appearance : Gerard stands just over six feet tall, and is well muscled from his years of knightly training. He has hair as black as ravens feathers, and grey eyes. His hands, face, and torso bear several scars, testament to the numerous battles he's survived. He lacks tattoos or piercings of any kind.

Personality : Gerard is seen, by most people, as a paragon of the people. He is brave, noble, and kind. However, underneath this near-saintly exterior, he hides several dark secrets. His guilt over these secrets and his past actions often render him extremely anti-social. While he will always hold up the law if it is just and good, he would not hesitate to cut down a supposed 'lawman' abusing their power.

Likes: Seeing justice done. Defending the weak. Dealing with honest people.

Dislikes: Cruel, dishonest people, liars, cowards and snakes.

Quirks: Gerard feels compelled to clean his weapons and armour as often as possible. This has a calming effect on him. With the added benefit of keeping his weapons in top shape.

Fears Include at least one. : Failing in his duties. Drowning, some mages.

Phobias : He is almost rendered useless when faced by situations where he must save either one person(s) or the other.

History : Originally from the city of Crossbeth, Gerard was not of noble birth, nor was he anyone anybody particularly cared about. His father was a leather tanner, and originally, Gerard had thought to take his place. However, Gerards father wanted more for the boy, and, introducing him to a good friend of his,in Aldfort, that also happened to be a knight of the order of ravens. After a cursory examination of the boys skills, the knight agreed to take Gerard as his squire. Initially, Gerard was dismayed by this. All his life, he'd been told by those that saw themselves as his 'betters' he would never amount to anything more than a tanner.

Both the knight and his father assured him that it was never too late to change one's fate. Then his father left, and Gerard became a page in the order of the knight of the raven. For the most part, he spent his time learning to read and write, when not doing menial tasks for the knights. Determined to become the best he could, Gerard waited on the knights at all hours of the day. By the time he was eighteen, he became squire to sir Alvius. Gerard rode into numerous battles alongside Alvius, fighting in the vanguard of the forces of Dwynnen. Eventually, Alvius fell in the field of battle, struck by a flight of crossbow bolts that pierced his armour.

Upon his return to Aldfort, Gerard was knighted. He travelled the lands, putting evil men to the sword where he encountered them. However, Gerard was still beholden to the lords of Dwynnen. He participated in over a dozen battles, cutting down knights and footsoldiers alike. At one battle, a particularly vicious lord, infuriated by the resistance of the populace, ordered the execution of every man, woman and child. Bound by his oath of service, Gerard carried out his orders. Haunted by his actions, when he hears of the reemergence of a long lost noble line, seeking to reclaim his home, Gerard sees this as an opportunity for penance, and eagerly sets out to meet this lord.

I have a character that I am going to use in an OS of mine. I would very much like to try him out, and I will post him as soon as I can, unless you run out of available slots.

I really like all of the CCs and the concept of the RP, by the way. Good writing everyone!

    Madrar

    The Shadow in the Dark.
    Name: Veridas Ashheart

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

Age and Date of Birth: 28, 4E 173.

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Assassin

Weapons: A steel sabre, and a jagged-edged steel dagger.

Armour: Veridas wears a dark grey tunic, with a pair of black leather pants. Though these articles of clothing provide absolutely no protection in a fight, they add to the inconspicuous image Veridas strives to present. Underneath, he wears a very fine, light form of chainmail. Though the mail wouldn't hold up against any heavy fighting, it is sufficient to deflect two or three blows. Which is all Veridas really needs.

Combat Preference: Veridas is an assassin in many senses of the word. He prefers to take his targets by surprise, cutting them down before they have a chance to strike back. He is equally skilled with using a single weapon, or a weapon in both hands. He is a competent archer as well, but he prefers to do his killing up close.

Veridas has spent years among vampires, learning their strengths, and more importantly, their weaknesses. He is capable of matching blades with all but the most powerful of vampires, and takes full advantage of this. Because of this, most mortal fighters stand a poor chance against Veridas in one on one combat.

Though he is an assassin, Veridas will not shy from straightforward combat. He is an expert at close, hand to hand combat, though he'll resort to that only if he has no other options. Meticulous in his planning and carrying out of a job, most of the assassins targets are dead before they realize it. However, while Veridas can improvise well, he prefers to have the upper hand before commencing an attack. If caught off guard, it is likely he will flee, rather than fight. Veridas despises magic, and all who use it.

Character Appearance: Veridas stands at 5'10", has fair skin, for the most part unmarked by scars. The one notable mar is a burn scar that covers most of his right cheek. He has dark green eyes, and black hair. He has a neatly trimmed goatee, and mustache. Veridas, at first glance, is built more like a sprinter than a fighter. His wiry, thin form has often fooled would be opponents into a false sense of security.

Personality: Veridas is extremely confident in his abilities. Though some might see that as a flaw, in truth, Veridas has no reason not to be confident. He's only once come across a target that he could not eliminate. Though not intentionally cruel, Veridas has no problems inflicting pain on others. Whether to get information, or simply to assure a witnesses silence. Though when it comes time to kill, he makes the death as swift and painless as he can. He is, after all, a professional.

Due to his traumatic childhood, Veridas doesn't trust anyone. He prefers to keep those he meets at arms length, preferably with one hand on his blade. He despises those that rely on drugs, such as skooma, believing that to handicap oneself with intoxicant is paramount to giving up on ones life. Though he does believe that gods exist, he doesn't think they have any real interest in mortals. Though not afraid of much, he has a deep rooted fear of mages, which he's turned into a hatred. He will never pass by a chance to cut down a mage, and will do so with all the more pleasure if he's paid for it.

Though he has no real problem with authority, he doesn't have much respect for them, either. He has no reservations about breaking the law. He'll bribe law enforcement if he can, eliminate them if he can't. Though he prefers not to kill those that aren't his target or mages, he won't lose sleep over it.

Likes: Success, Coins, having a battle plan laid out before hand

    Dislikes:Surprises, Vampires, and mages

Quirks : Flipping his dagger in the air, and catching it by the tip, when bored.

Fears Include at least one. : His past. Vampires

Phobias Include at least one.(Phobias are NOT the same things as fears. Fear is what someone feels in the moment, and they may pass when the situation is : Fear of Imperfection.

History : Raised in the slums of Jehanna, Veradis was raised solely by his mother. His father was a mage that abandoned his wife before Veridas was born.Though his mother did her best, she could only barely provide for the both of them. When he was eight, an entourage of mages passed through, lead by Veridas' father, she confronted him. Embarrassed by the sight of a poor, starving woman impeding the mages progress, he killed her.

Unknown to the mage, Veridas, his son, had witnessed the entire confrontation. Though young, Veridas' hatred against the man that had killed his mother was strong. After burying her, Veridas left Jehanna behind, and worked as a thief for a time. When a job went bad, Veridas defended himself and killed the home owner. As the years passed, Veridas amassed a small fortune, and left the thieves life behind.

Eventually, he discovered a freelance assassin, who taught him what he knew. By the time he was twenty, Veridas was a master in his own right. He'd developed a fearsome reputation, especially among mages. He killed his father after three years of tracking him across both High Rock and Skyrim. During his travels, Veridas decided that all mages were as corrupt and self centred as his father had been, and decided to eliminate as many as he could.

While staying in Falkreath, Veridas was approached by a man who offered him a job. The job was to eliminate a powerful vampiric sorcerer dwelling in the Bloodlet throne. Unknown to Veridas, the client was a vampire serving the very same vampire Veridas had been hired to kill. Veridas entered the castle, and was promptly ambushed by a pack of vampires. He managed to defeat several, and Salthar Vivarian, the lord of the coven and the Altmer vampire he'd been hired to kill, was impressed by his skill, and spared his life.

Veridas spent years living among the vampires, being sent to kill those that sought to undermined the coven. Though he was valuable, he was not trusted, and frequently treated as inferior. Eventually, Veridas came to hate the vampires of Bloodlet Throne. When on a job near Riften, he heard the Salthar himself was coming to the city of thieves. Seeing his chance to be free, he contacted the Dawnguard.

Though Salthar and his elite guard defeated the ambush, Vivarian found out that Veridas had been behind the ambush. Vampiric assassins chased Veridas across Skyrim. At his friends urging, Veridas returns once more to his homeland.

    Name: Jeth La'ralle

Age and Date of Birth: 68, 13th of First Seed

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Spellsword

A pair of scimitars, very skilled with fire and ice destructive magics.

    images

Armour: Jeth wears leather leggings, soft soled boots, and a dark blue long sleeved tunic, inscribed with dunmeri sigils. He wears a dark cloak, made of rich fabric, which repels both filth and water. The cloaks clasp is able to deflect a limited amount of magic. Though his apparel offers little protection from physical weapons, it is rather...fashionable.

Combat Preference : Jeth floats among the chaos of combat. He uses a scimitar in each hand, cutting apart those that stand in his path. At range, he shows his skill with destruction magic, alternating between ice and fire, as he wishes. He devastates the battlefields around him, his thin frame belying the skill he wields his weapons with.

Character Appearance: Jeth is not terribly tall, standing at just over 5'5". He has angular cheekbones, and dark red eyes. His hair is white, and worn in braids, that reach his shoulders. He is slim enough to be considered an easy target. This is often an enemies last mistake. His dark grey skin is unmarred by scars, and he lacks any sort of beard.

Personality : Jeth loves to experience everything, and it shows in his demeanour. He's generally friendly, but when angered, becomes cold and callous. He values his friends almost more than he values his life.

Likes: Coin, busty women, good company

    Dislikes: Disloyalty, racism, and heat.

Quirks ( habit(s) that are unique to your character. Can be positive or negative. Preferably one of each.) : Laughs when under stress, tends to hum when bored or thinking.

    Fears : The afterlife...

Phobias Include at least one.(Phobias are NOT the same things as fears. Fear is what someone feels in the moment, and they may pass when the situation is resolved. Phobias are deep routed, often caused by a traumatic-negative experience, and can, in severe cases cause physical impairment): Losing those close to him.

History : Jeth was born in a family of wealthy traders, and had been set to take over the trade. Then the Argonians attacked, slaughtering their former slave masters with flame and blades. Jeth survived, but his family did not. As most in Morrowwind know, a houseless elf usually doesn't survive for long.

Instead of staying in the land of his people, Jeth headed for Skyrim. There, he met the assassin Veridas Ashheart. Despite the differences between the two, they struck up a fast friendship, and worked together as a mercenary team.
