Ya when I started the role play I would still loot bandits and necromancers, etc. But I was really embracing this zealous righteousness they have and realized it made more sense to NEVER loot from anyone you've slain in order to remain blameless of their death .. as in, you could never be accused of killing them for profit. Has really made things interesting, lol.

I have just started another character, been years since I played but I'm going for a warrior build. Heavy armour, one handed weapons with shield and I plan to explore this game to its full potential

54th level sneaky ranger. Bow and dual-wield axe/dagger and in ancient DB armor. Almost ready to make my endgame gear.

But it is honourable to kill vampires, and they sure as oblivion don't need their coin when they're dead! I just don't loot innocents. Being on level 50 with less than 70k septums indicates I'm not in it for the money! :)

True true, lol. I've just been operating more on the principal of 'donations'. Felt like it fit the religious vibe of the Vigilants.

I am trying something completely different than my usual 'comfort zone' character who uses everything possible to win. This build is a Nord, Ove Blackhelm, who is very simple ( in all senses). He uses two-handed swords, heavy armor and nothing else. He is a very simple character to play, almost no choices to make: everything goes into Health and Stamina, Two-Handed, Heavy Armor and Smithing. No ranged weapons, both Followers and sneaking are dishonorable, so he has to charge in regardless of the opposition. His other limitation is that he can never add Magika, though he is free to use any items he finds. His initial goal is too become Harbinger of the Companions, but this is just a step in his real ambition, to collect all of the Daedric artifacts. So far, only at Level 10, Mages are my bane, they can hit me long before I can get to them, and armor is of little use, unlike dealing with archers.

Sounds like a good barbarian build.
Why not pick up the atronach stone? It'll still be dicey when fighting mages but at least you'll have a better chance. You could even build a nice back story of someone who was 'magically blessed by the gods at birth' only to shun and then outright denounce the gift later in life. Or maybe the lord stone for 'some' magical protection but even more of a challenge.

Love this. This is basically the build/playstyle I went with for my first playthrough of the main quest. Only difference is I went with a mace versus two-handed. I find the game so much more enjoyable when you specialize character builds like this.

Part of the character is that I cannot go anywhere unless part of a quest. So, getting to the Atronach stone may take a while.

I do the same. I try to play as if I don't know where anything in Skyrim is, unless I'm playing a character that would be familiar with Skyrim.

My current character is using old Skyrim. She is a Bosmer and I named her Kestral.

My Bosmer will be a loner and use Campfire. She will be skilled in archery and in duel wielding and have only her horse for company. She will have no followers and no companions for they just get in her way. Her weapons will be elven made to reflect on her parents and her ancesters. She will live off the land and what she finds in any plunder she comes across, selling the plunder to merchants for gold to obtain the necessary items that are needed.

Bandits killed her parents when she was young and left her for dead. She was found and raised by Froki who followed the old ancient ways of the Goddess Kyne. While growing up under the guidance of Froki she honored the old ways and is now blessed by Kyne herself. She will now become a bird of prey upon all bandits and any evil doers.

Here is what she looks like

Nice pic @ashleyclark! I always liked the Kyne quest's and Froki.
I notice you are using the 'a matter of time' mod. When I played LE I liked turning off all the exact time displays and just had the seasons displayed under the arc. I quickly got good enough at guessing the correct time to within 15-30 mins by noting the sun and moon's position in the arc and likened it to my character looking up at the celestial bodies to gauge the passage of time.

Thank you @alceryes I really like the time sitting up there especially when she will be a vampire. I also liked Kyne's Quest and being a Bosmer it fits her.

Yeah, the 5pm and 7am marks are something you aim for when you're a vampire, for sure.
If I remember correctly, the arc goes from 6am to 6pm with the sun symbol (noon being at the top) and 6pm to 6am with the moon symbol (midnight being at the top). It's still pretty easy to gauge the 5am and 7pm marks on the arc when you're a vamp.

It's just an immersion thing I liked doing. The fewer exact numbers in my field of view the better. ;)

well, after multiple posts/deletes and rewriting, here are my current characters (some changes were made for various reasons from the original ideas):

    Name: Jurgarik Half-Troll

    Race: Nord

    Gender: Male (obviously)

Skills: One Handed (axes) Light armor, Smithing, Archery, Sneak, Alchemy.

    Magicka/Health/Stamina spread: 1 health/2 stamina.

Backstory: Jurgarik Half-Troll was born in a small village in Cyrodiil. Jurgarik’s father was a soldier in the legion who joined the local guard for the village after he was released from legion service, and his mother ran a shop to help make ends meet. Jurgarik was trained in the same skills he was trained in during his time in the legion, as well as some extra skills from his father’s fellow guard. When he came of age, he decided to join the fighter’s guild based out of Bruma, impressing his father.

His time in the fighter’s guild was impressive. He did quite well defending the region from bandits and other problems. He even developed a kind of rivalry with an Orsimer named Thorzul Gro-Korma. The two would often be paired together, but always try to show the other up. During this time, Jurgarik learned to craft his own gear, and also developed a secret interest in crafting potions to help his fellow guild members. Life was at the time going great, and Jurgarik thought he had found his place in the guild.

Then, he received the worst kind of news. His home was burned to the ground by ‘bandits’, something he disputed immediately. He left to return to the remains of his home, where he saw the devastation for the first time. He remained there, living off the land, and protecting travelers who wandered near the village. Soon, he began to have dreams of a nord, on a mountain facing a vast cloud of darkness. He traveled to scholar, and found that the mountain in his dream was likely the throat of the world in skyrim. He left for skyrim, hoping to find the meaning of his dream.

Playstyle: sneak archery for first shot, then lower number with bow and arrow, kill close-quarters enemies with axes. Craft potions, armor, weapons and arrows. No using enchanted gear. Also werewolf gameplay viable.

Faction Choices: Companions and Dawnguard. Possibly thieves guild if I feel like do that.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Vivonne Sorick

    Race: Breton

    Gender: Female

Skills: Conjuration, Destruction (shock), Alteration, One Handed (base perk + fighting stance, bound sword), Alchemy, Enchanting

    Magicka/Health/Stamina Spread: 2 magicka/1 health/1 stamina.

Backstory: Vivonne was a member of the Sorick noble family of Shornhelm. They became nobles when her ancestor, Malvina Sorick, saved the city during the Oblivion Crisis. Her parents, lord Aleron, and lady Eselde, taught her a lot about how to deal with other nobles and even common folk. Vivonne herself, however, preferred to spend her time reading and studying over talking and deal-making. This led her to learning magic from the court wizard. When her parents found out, they were quite upset, believing that magic is for the common folk, and not people in stations of the elite. They were convinced when the court wizard explained that Valessa was a bit help with some of the problems he was having. They let her study as the court wizard’s apprentice if Vivonne would at least go to a party or two occasionally.

Vivonne’s time as the court wizard’s apprentice was spent learning how to make potions, enchant items, and even how to summon creatures from outside Nirn. During this time Vivonne also met and fell in love with a young noble woman named Roselle Reynaux. The pair met at a party, and immediately hit things off, despite the fact that the Sorick and Reynaux families have a big rivalry against each other. Things were fine as the couple met in secret, so as to not alert their families, for a while. Soon, Roselle ended up going missing for a few days, and was found later on in the garden of the Sorick Estate. When Vivonne found out, she was devastated, revealing the relationship between her and Roselle.

Shortly thereafter, as Rumors abound the Shornhelm Court about the possible involvement of the Sorick family in the death of Roselle Reynaux, Vivonne noticed the court wizard acting strange. Doing some digging, Vivonne found out that the court wizard had abducted Roselle to use her in one of his little ‘experiments’, and was disgusted at the reveal. This cause Vivonne to turn to a darker nature. She ended up killing the court wizard, showing no remorse for getting vengeance (in her mind) for the woman she loved.

She was exiled by the king of Shornhelm, who took sympathy for what happened, but was angered by Vivonne taking the situation into her own hands, instead of showing the court the evidence to the court wizard’s crimes. During her exile, Vivonne met many people, including a Redguard mercenary named Tiela at-Aswala. Tiela taught Vivonne to use swords, though Vivonne was not interested in getting into melee combat. Things were going fine until the pair was attacked by a bosmer assassin. Vivonne got away, but Tiela was killed protecting Vivonne. Vivonne left Cyrodiil, where the pair met, and decided to travel north, to Skyrim and potentially some sense of solace.

Playstyle: summon an atronach or dremora, use destruction to weaken enemies. Finish with bound sword. Also make sure potions are in inventory, and clothes are enchanted. Wear commoner clothes, as she is an exiled noble, so it makes more sense.

Faction choices: College of Winterhold and Dawnguard (just because I do not like the vampire look). Maybe add Dark brotherhood should sneak be added as a skill.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Marius Vitellius

    Race: Imperial

    Gender: Male

Skills: One handed, Heavy Armor, Smithing (steel smithing, arcane blacksmith MAYBE dwarven smithing), Block, Destruction (fire), Restoration, Enchanting

    Magicka/Health/Stamina spread: 1 magicka/2 health/1 stamina.

Backstory: Marius Vitellius does not have any memory of his parents. He was raised in the temple of the divines in Chorrol for as long as he could remember. His guardian, the primate of the temple raised him with a code of honor. He learned to read, write, and even heal others. He also felt the urge to learn the use of mace, shield and metal armor. He knew he could feel the power of the divines guiding him in his path. When he was old enough, he left the temple on a divine mission to remove evil from the land of Cyrodiil.

He served this calling well. Bandits were removed for attacking travelers, vampires purged from their feeding grounds, and necromancers driven from crypts and tombs. In between these missions, he visited local temples and shrines, seeking the divines aid and to give thanks for the divines setting him on this path. Things started to take a turn when he was sent to look into missing village girls.

His search led him to a cave, and a den of daedra worshippers. The worshippers were eating the girls, believing that such acts would make them stronger to take control of Cyrodiil from the emperor, Titus Mede. Marius killed most of the cult, but the leader, an altmer, managed to flee. Feeling like he had failed in his mission, Marius returned to the village to give them the news, then left on a pilgrimage to devote himself closer to the Divines that granted him the life he lives now, a pilgrimage that took him to the land of the nords, Skyrim, and to an adventure that he would never have dreamed of.

Playstyle: simply a mace/shield tank with flame cloak. Restoration for healing and dealing with the undead.

Faction choices: Dawnguard, possibly college of winterhold and the companions (remove lycanthropy)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: I use the Ordinator perk overhaul, so can't give a perk plan. Skills are just the ones I plan to look at/try to put effort into leveling up in terms of skill leveling.

I have a humanoid follower to use as a sort of carrier. I think it adds a little realism(Faendal, cos he's the only one that doesn't completely piss me off!). Apart from that you're doing what I'm doing and I've got to level 50 without range weapons or des magic and it's been great fun. And Meeko doesn't know what stealth is so I charge instead of sneak.

I sometimes get tired of playing as a Bosmer, and when I do I switch to my Altmer character.

    Here is her story

The Altmer. The fraction that thinks they rule. The Thalmor, known as the Aldmeri Dominion. Hated by most is more like it. Adrianna hated her people and what they have become. She hated that there was no freedom, no sense of belonging. Although an Altmer herself, she was not part of the Aldmeri Dominion ways, nor did she desire to be. She knew she did not belong here with the others. Under Elenwen’s leadership they became cruel and savage, and Elenwen had them believing that their way was the right way and the only way.

On her travels to Skyrim from Summerset Isle, Adrianna met people who where kind and considerate, while her people enslaved and tortured. So what if the people of Skyrim worshipped someone different, it was their right to do so. As she was constantly being told, she herself was different, from her unusual markings to her light skin tone. The time came when Adrianna could no longer stay here with those who thought themselves better than others, for they were not.

During the day, Adrianna collected and gathered items she thought she would need, along with any gold she could find, and stashed them away for one day she was going to leave this place. She wanted no parts in the cruelty and horrors that she has seen here that these people have done. She would travel to the college in Winterhold and there would improve and hone her magic.

The shame of it all! Adrianna was the daughter of the highest ranking official! Her own mother, Elenwen, ordered her to be chained and beaten just because she refused to take up arms and learn how to fight with weapons. The others wanted no part of it for they thought it was wrong, so Elenwen did it herself. Never again. Adrianna could take no more. She needed no weapons for she had her magic which was more powerful than their weapons. Aching, bruised and battered, Adrianna left the Thalmor Embassy in the dark of night with her stashed items. The guards let her pass wishing her luck. As she left, she cursed Elenwen for what she did to her, and vowed that Elenwen will one day pay for what she suffered at her hands for Elenwen's crueltry has no end.

Elenwen placed a bounty on her marking her as a traitor, but the patrols Adrianna saw only greeted her, gave her supplies and gold while wishing her luck. Everyday Adrianna repeated her vow, little knowing that the time will come sooner than she would imagine when she would have to face her mother.

Here is what she looks like

    Nazeem- "Who are you?"
Strange Man- "Call me... The Archer"
The sound of an arrow flies as a dark green figure is seen jumping the city wall.
He needs a better name, probably. Now that I think about it, Nazeem won't be calling him anything now. Also, if you don't know, this is for a conversation early in this thread.
