Is being a Vampire Lord all that worth it? I was thinking of just going with the Dawnguard as a werewolf but I was wondering how much more powerful is a Vampire Lord, really? Or is it even worth the ill-effects you have to deal with as well?

This is a spoiler but I was fighting with Lord Harkon in werewolf form.... I wanted it to be a special moment like in Van Helsing when all of the sudden I transformed back into a human again. I fricken hate the time limitation! It was a ball breaker.

Thank you Bethesda for ruining my RP experience during the climax moment. The time limitation SUCKS! I don't care what the explanation is. It needs to go away.

I have to agree with all of you but you can wipe someone in one strike as a werewolf and you die easily in the daylight as a vampire and when your fighting in daylight it's like youre a lvl 6 and it takes foreva to kill someone as a vampire lord but yeah I wish you could be a werewolf a few times a day instead of once.

Such a dramatic scene! Man, I don't remember the last time I just sat down and watched an over-the-top action movie.

And then...you reappeared as a naked human, right? In front of the high lord of vampires in Skyrim. >.< I can't help but find that hysterical, tragic as it is.

I fricken love the movie, and this was my first time siding with the Dawnguard. I wanted it to be special moment between a werewolf and a vampire, but thanks to Bethesda and the werewolf time limit, it never happen.

LOL yeah I was naked, and to make it bizarre I have the naked mod on with erection (the better male mod). Now I wonder what Lord Harkon was thinking when I came at him with an erected penis :x

I actually really love what they did for werewolves. The perk tree is fantastic. Now I can devour not just people but animals too. I can stay in werewolf form for hours with no problem and it that time I can and often do, slaughter towns of people. I ripped apart a group of six vampires in werewolf form and it was oh so sweet. I see no need for Hircine's ring now thanks to the Dawnguard plugin. Transforming multiple times a day is not necessary anymore now that you can remain in werewolf form for hours at a time.

Just in time for the fiyahworks show! BOOM!
If you know what you are doing, you can stay in your Werewolf form for quite some time. It's not difficult. My Werewolf character can remain in that form for so long that I forward time so he can get out of it. Bottom line is, that werewolves shouldn't be able to control their transformations. Part of the curse is that you can't control it, or at the night of a full moon you're fluffed.

I think it is assumed that the Companions teach you how to control the transformations. When fighting the Silver Hand, Aela talks about feral werewolves and how they lose themselves to the beast. The beast blood has been with the Companions for centuries, so in that time they learned a measure of control.

Yes, but in basic lore, werewolves can not control their transformations. So complaining that you can't go in and out of the transformation just tells me that people want the game to be as easy as possible for them. I've never had an issue with being a Werewolf in Skyrim. You pick the best possible moment to enter into the Beast Form. Not whine and complain that Bethesda isn't making it convenient enough.

Werewolves are just about perfect right now. The Silver Hand has almost hunted them into extinction in Skyrim, which is why you don't see them in the wild that much. I have yet to see an alive one in the wild but found several dead werewolves, I'm guessing thanks to the Dawnguard plugin. Several players have already confirmed contact with werewolves in the wild, so they are out there, just not in huge numbers.

Ok, is anyone else having trouble with the ring cause it wont let me use the ring of hircine power anymore just because of dawnguard?

Never liked werewolves. For me, the Vampire Lord is a huge step up from the werewolves. Magic and Melee. I Love it.
