We've been eagerly tracking the progress of the Skywind mod, a Skyrim mod that seeks to update Morrowind to use the Skyrim engine, for a while now, and the latest development video shows we were right to be excited.

The new video shows the progress that has been made in importing the world of Morrowind into the Skyrim engine, showing off quests, monsters, and other new additions. Work on the project has "skyrocketed" in recent months, according to the video, and the eight person team has grown to more than 70 people, including voice actors. According to the comments on the Youtube video, hundreds more people have volunteered.

The video details the process of adding custom elements, like new monster models, architecture, and rock formations, to make the mod stand out from Skyrim; provides a preview of some of the new music that is being composed for the mod; shows some of the "dozens" of quests that have been implemented so far (out of more than 600 that need to be added); and asks for help with the ambitious task of using volunteers to record 30,000 lines of dialogue to make the game fully voiced.

You can download and try the alpha version of Skywind now. A copy of Skyrim and a copy of the Morrowind with the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions is necessary. The download and more information about the mod, including how you can help out, are available at the mod's official site, http://morroblivion.com/.
