Upgraded server

    I'm not sure if this thread is still being moderated, but since the server upgrade I've noticed three issues that have not been resolved, listed in order of personal importance:


    1) 'Reply' button does not work (at least mine doesn't)

    2) The small 'x' in the corner of images is missing making it difficult to close them

    3) Images posted around or before the server update are no longer viewable


    Others I've talked to have had the same issues, especially the issue with viewing older images, although my main concern is the fact that my 'Reply' button no longer works.

    Any help to fix some or all of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Also, the Inbox conversations have gone nuts. They don't post in order.

    I will dedicate some time this week to working out some of these outstanding issues. So, please encourage others to add any technical glitches they're running into while using this site.

    I really tried to get to this today. My computer decided that it should take forever to accomplish any single task and crashed twice this evening. I did make some slight progress. I'm re-downloading the image files from a back up prior to the move so that I can restore them manually. I'll be defragging and error checking my computer overnight. Hopefully, that'll let me get a running start in the morning.

    I suspect some of the issues such as the inbox conversations might be related to syncing between the servers or some conflict with a caching plugin, since that's the only recent add-on that's been installed. However, I'm going to need more information to be able to say with any certainty.

    What browser are you using?
    When did you first notice the inbox conversations issue?
    Is this a consistent issue or sporadic? (Does it look to be in order sometimes and then out of order others?)
    Please try to access the inbox across multiple browsers and let me know what the results are.

    I have the same issue with the inbox. I use Firefox Web Browser.

    I havent used conversations for that long so Iv only noticed it in the past month or so.

    It seems to happen when 2people submit their post at around the same time. I personally get an alert on my Inbox, when I go to look who its from, it says that I'm the last person to post in convo. I click into the convo and I am the last poster and the alert wont go away. The only way I have found that gets rid of the alert tag, is to post another message. Usually that is when you see the message of the other person (and the times are mixed up).

    ...if that makes any sense...

    Yes exactly how Irishman has put it. I am using Chrome. It does appear to be when two people are posting at the same time. There appears to be a delay after you hit the post button and then the post gets put above the previous one, mixing up the order. I have noticed it happening over the last month as well.
    It is only sporadic though, not every time. It start's out alright then as you converse more the posts start to get muddled up.

    Ok. Taking a look. Also, please see if you can get others to participate in this thread. More people = more info for me to work with.

    Images are being re-uploaded. I'll let you know when the process is complete so that everyone can confirm if what they remember is restored or if anything else is missing.

    Yes, the issues are still happening to me. I can't really link you to an example, but a specific example is when you click to open an image in an album, and the x that is above the words 'show in original location' is missing. I have to hover my mouse pointer in the general area in order to close the image. It's not a huge deal, though. My main concern is the fact that the 'Reply' button doesn't work for me, which will be the second time this has happened since I've been a member of this forum.

    I tested #2 & #3 and they both work great now. I'm able to view all the pics again and the small x is back where it should be on all the expandable windows.

    Not all of my pre-upgrade album images have been restored. It's not problematic for me, but I thought I'd mention it.

    Ok. I'll check later this week. I either need to re-upload or check with the tech guys to make sure it synced properly across servers.

    I am primarily a mobile user on this site and I'm running into problems left and right.

    1.) The site doesn't work in the mobile version on FireFox. I don't know what the issue is, but I can no longer access it on my phone. Which I primarily used to access this site.

    2.) The mobile site on Google Chrome is laggy and jumps around, which makes clicking on a link akin to something like shooting at a moving target, and typing slow and tedious. The page does not sit still.

    3.) On the right-hand side of the page, you list ads, profile information, users online, and the miniature shoutbox, it's roughly 25% of the screen. Anyway, that does not scroll for me, making only the lowest part of the page (where online users are shown) and the top of the page (showing general profile information and the first ad) available.

    While the page looks nice, it doesn't work for mobile users. Refreshing the page, updating the browser, and requesting the desktop site does not fix the issue.

    I tested pretty thoroughly in iOS and Android, in multiple browsers. The forums load and look fine. What phone are you browsing from? I'll try to replicate the issue.

    I am using a Galaxy J1 Ace with a FireFox browser. It might be more of an issue with my phone than the actual site. I'm not certain.
