We all know that Skyrim is a beautiful game and a jaw dropping experience. But we as gamers are so caught up in doing all these quests, we fast travel to, well, get to places faster, thus missing a bunch of unmapped and unheard of places. I am here to share with you some unmapped places in Skyrim that can go from interesting to pointless, but nevertheless, unique in its own way. These places are also known as "secondary" places.

Note that all of the names of these locations are what I call them, since there is not real name for them.

I will start in Haafingar.
Wolf's Fort: If you go from Pinemoon cave to Steepfall Burrow you will find it. You will be walking up on the brick slope, but a dead bloodied soldier will be on it. Lockpick Skill Book-Proper Lock Design will be located on him. When you walk into the small enclosed fort, a more powerful wolf will attack.
The One Man Massacre: This is located in between Thalmor Embassy and Dainty Sload, closer to Thalmor Embassy. There is a skeleton on a steep snowy slope with weapons plunged into him. Search the area for weapons. I recall a decent staff leaning against a tree nearby.

Now for places in Hjaalmarch area.
The Slaughtered Carriage can be found if you start from Chillwind Depths and head straight for Meeko's Shack. It should be found a just a little bit past the other side of the river. The horse and two merchants lie dead. There is a journal on the woman's body. If you look for clues, there is an falmer arrow pointing the to the direction of Chillwind Depths.
Smuggler's Hideout: You can find it if you start at Falgunthar and head directly for Solitude. It is not far from Falgunthar at all. It is located almost at the edge of the body of land before you have to start swimming towards Solitude. I find this place thrilling, though I don't know why. Also take note I wasn't sure what this place was so I was forced to look online, but it's the thought that counts. It's under a rocky outcrop near a group of standing stones. It's deserted, but there is a Pickpocket Skill Book in one of the empty crates, Purloined Shadows.
Conjurer's Crash: If you start at Frostmere Crypt and go directly to Hjaalmarch Imperial Camp, it's not far from were you start at Frostmere Crypt, just a little ways after you cross into the Hjaalmarch. You will run into two bandits, a dead horse, and a dead mage, and a carriage. Kill the two bandits and you can find ingredients, Speech Skill Book : A Dance in Fire, v6, apothecary satchel x2, and potions in the carriage.

Time for places in The Pale.
First up is the Bandit's House. You'll be able to find it if you start at Hjaalmarch Stormcloack Camp and go directly north and once you cross into The Pale, it should be right there. It's home to a lone bandit so nothing serious. Only "valuable" thing in the burnt down lodge is a chest.
The Love Tent is found on the shore of The Pale. Start at the Dawnstar Sanctuary and go directly west and not for from were you started, on the other side of the little lake there it is. It is a tent made of animal skin and outside a burned down fire. Inside are two bedrolls, empty wine bottles, an Amulet of Mara, and Red Mountain Flowers.

Hope you liked this Part I of 'Unique Unmapped Places To Visit In Skyrim. Two more are soon to come, each containing 3 other holds.

I like this.
There are a lot of interesting places to be found that are unmarked. I really wish the map could be marked up to note these locations. I really wish there was a printable map of the in game one that could be marked up too. I found the one at Gamebanshee, and for the most part it is good, but some of the markers I think are a bit off.
I've found things like small caves where Trolls, bears, cats hang out, to the shrines of the nine, and other simple little alters all over the place.

This is certainly very interesting, but screenshots of estimated locations on a map, would be EXTREMELY handy.

Ravenna

Its eyes are black, its skin is white
I was exploring, I don't remember what region, but it was forested, it might've been near haafingar, I'm not sure. But I came across a hunters camp that had been ransacked. All his stuff was strewn over the camp and the hunter himself was laying over a chopping block like he was about to be beheaded. Finding people like that kind of upsets me in the game, didn't have a chance, clearly. I found a carriage in whiterun hold that had been set on fire, the charred remains of the driver curled up in the fetal position next to the dead horse. It made me sad.

That's a handy map, it's original location is on Banshee Games and there is a downloadable PDF or a very large graphic.

Only problem I've found in that map is that some of the locations indicated are a tad bit off. Not horrifically if you are looking for a place, but if you try to use a couple places to triangulate your location, some of them were off.

However, that didn't stop me from making notes. I used the PDF version and Foxit Reader which allows me to mark notes on the PDF.

Yeah, but I didn't think it was quite necessary to add the Shrines, just because they're already known really.

There's this lighthouse somewhere in between Dawnstar and Winterhold that I just found last night. It's called Frostflow and I highly suggest checking it out because it has a really sad, yet nicely detailed storyline behind it. Beware, there are enemies! Plenty of Chaurus and Falmer. I was level 9 when I went through and had no problem. Oh, yeah! There's also a Chaurus Reaper near the end.
