"Aye, I'm sure we will have no problem with the creatures here," Antoine returned Sabrina's grin with a friendly smile.
"As to more information, well, Shade and Crow are basically correct. Sunlight is not their friend and from the look of the one below, those in Skyrim do not appear to be as powerful as their counterparts in Cyrodiil. They do got a deadly weakness to fire but you can hit them with any weapon to cause them damage or kill them, but don't bother trying to speed up the damage with poisons, as they're resistant." He looked over at Shade with a grin, "As for garlic, it's great on food but doesn't do them any harm." Addressing the group again, "They'll try to re-animate dead bodies and more than likely they will attempt to drain you, which could infect you with Sanguinare Vampiris and don't get knocked out as they'll try to feed on you to become stronger and will definitely give you the disease," he paused letting that sink in before continuing,
"So, if we get done this and you start to feel weak in the sun or get an unusual thirst, well you're on your way to becoming a vampire, but it takes three days to be turned and if that happens well," he rested his hands on his swords and patted them.
Antoine looked at the door, and then up at the tiers above them as a creaking shuffling sound drew near the edge. "I think those skeletons up there are getting antsy, shall we open this here door and proceed? I think I'd fancy going first if you don't mind Cleddau, I'm feeling much more bold all of a sudden." The fighting spirit was coming back. That need to explore and search for enemies was strong, like when he'd been hunting the corsairs and the later the merchentmen across the Abecean Sea

Sabrina listened to what Antoine had to say. It made her feel reassured. Strange as it was, she felt as if she could trust him more now. This group had really started to feel like a team. She patted herself, making sure she was ready to move on.

When the captain had finished speaking, Sabrina nodded at him, "Right then, as soon as everyone is ready."

Well weapon damage I can deliver, just wish I had a way to throw fire like the others. Cleddau steps to the door and crouches down to peer at the mechanism... "Cleddau see's no lock and this one doesn't find any traps either. Cleddau will take your side, and scout ahead when you ask it of him." stands, bows with eyes to the ground in a sign of respect and trust and steps aside.

Shade went wide-eyed with bewilderment as the captain turned a smirk her way when saying garlic didn't do any further damage to the vampires. It was if he was suggesting she had been the one the one to mention it in the first place! Hmph, it seems as though he always has something smart to say...I wonder what fine treasure he'll stumble upon to sweeten me up with this time?! She thought as she narrowed her eyes at him. Shade stepped closer to him almost threateningly and said, "I have a feeling "boldness" comes to you quite naturally, Captain! With that said, why don't you lead the way. I think we are all ready." she said with a wicked grin.

"Cleddau see's no lock and this one doesn't find any traps either. Cleddau will take your side, and scout ahead when you ask it of him." stands, bows with eyes to the ground in a sign of respect and trust and steps aside.

The fact that at every door they got to they had to have a discussion on who was going first was beginning to annoy crow. At this rate they were more likely to die of old age then of a vampire attack.

Crow drew his sword and advanced on the door "well talking about it's not gonna get us anywhere" crow said before kicking in the door. Crow turned to Sabrina and shade."I'd say ladies first but you don't seem to eager to go first" he said with a wink before strolling down the hallway. "you coming captain?" he shouted back as he rounded the corner.

Antoine pushed open the doors after they bounced off the walls from Crows none to quiet opening to reveal a short cobweb filled hallway about twenty or thirty feet long that turned right. "Well, if there are any creatures in there they'll certainly know that we're coming..."

In the glow of some nearly dead candles he could see that it was another catacomb. The tombs lined the walls of the hallway making them look like an irregular honeycomb of some large bee. In the elbow of the turn the tombs were cut length wise into the walls so you could see the remains of whole bodies. Most were desiccated husks the rest were just skeletal remains. A casket had fallen out and cracked open on the ground. There were no remains in it. A burial urn was in a small nook in the apex of the corner.

Antoine popped it open, and shook out the contents into his hand. There were an perfectly cut emerald and a half dozen coins. He turned around and handed them to Alphonse, "Here lad, you can 'ave these and get some more training or a really good meal when you get back." Then in a slightly more quieter, conspiratory voice he whisper, "or yea can getcha a nice wench or three eay!" He clapped the lad on the back and laughed.
Turning back to the hallway he found it turned immediately left with more tombs in the walls and a couple more empty caskets on the ground. "Looks like we weren't the first to ransack this place." The hallway ended in a room, circular in fashion, about 30 or 40 feet across with an altar like setting in the middle of the right hand side. It was blood stained and littered with skulls and lit candles that slowly flickered in a undetectable breeze. There was also some kind of potion bottle on the altar and a book, but it looked ruined, soaked in blood.

Directly across from the altar was column, or more to the point a statue of a head hanging down from the ceiling and a wooden chest beneath it. It was hard to describe what the face looked like, Nordic, maybe, but the long flat nose and wide eye and hanging cheeks, kind of sort looked like a cat... Antoine turned and stared at Cleddau for a long moment, then went back to looking around the room. There was shelf with more ruined books, linen wraps, tools, and empty jugs. On the far side of the room were two more large urns, one broken the other intact. Right of them was an alcove with what appeared to be a collection of boots and shoes. "How strange..."
On either side of the altar were two open door ways that appeared to open into a hallway behind the wall. The sound of creaking bones coming from that hall. Before stepping down that hallway, he stopped and turned as the rest of the group filtered into the room.

Sabrina, shocked by Crow's bravado, stood silent for a moment. Then she realized how quicly everyone else was marching toward the next room and nearly ran to catch up. The room was a disgrace. Empty, ransacked urns and caskets were scattered around the room, and a smell of rotting flesh permeated Sabrina's senses.

She looked at the captain who had suddenly become interested in Cleddau's features. Curious, she also took a look. Strangely, she began to notice, he did not look at all like a normal Khajiit. His features were stronger; more... beastial. She brushed it off and walked toward Crow's side, wishing to scold and praise him all at once.

"That was rather rash," She spoke softly at his shoulder, "but I was also very impressed."

Crow turned to Sabrina and smiled at her compliment,"thanks. I'm sorry if I seemed rash I'm just used to facing my enemy head on so I'm not really used to being stealthy." crow then glanced around the room for anything of interest. He spotted the ruined book and potion sitting on the alter and decided to take both and put them in his satchel thinking that if he could get the book repaired he could perhaps find out something of the history of this place.
Crow then noticed the pile of shoes in the corner and stared at them quizzically" so are enemy is a shoe collecting vampire?" he thought aloud.

While moving forward aware and wary of the skeletal noises from just a bit further on. Cleddau thinks how unprofessional and careless some of these mercs are about their quiet. Its best not to wake a place up til your sure your not outnumbered. But as none seemed bothered by their noise so far... He let the thought fade, and was accutely aware he was being stared at. He tried to remain normal acting as he watched a few of the members take great interest in his features. It really didn't help that the head in the room was a akavari design a simpler form of their own Ka' Po Tun he recognized from ruins back home. But if thats the case then this would be a stronghold... What could the artifact be? As well as if the vampires want it.. OH No if their boss was really a Tsaesci. There might be real danger back home and here.

Shade watched as the impatient young wood elf kicked in the door. Here we come! She thought to herself with a shrug. At least he is kind enough to offer himself up as fodder... She strolled through the door and smiled at the Captain in agreement as he spoke, "Well, if there are any creatures in there they'll certainly know that we're coming...".

As they walked through the catacomb, Shade searched a few of the skeletons but found nothing more then a few measly coins. When she caught up with the others she noticed everyone staring at Cleddau. She was confused for a minute until further observation of the room led her to a cat-like statue. It was quite similar to his features, but she didn't understand the significance. The uneasy feeling she had about the Khajjit once again returned to her. It was then she realized he had met her stare, which made her promptly turn away pretending as though she was scanning the room before he could read the trepidatious look on her face. She felt as if it was already too late and stood there awkwardly before making her way toward a burial urn she had spotted on the far side of the room.

Finding a few coins and a potion inside, she turned to Crow as he said, "So our enemy is a shoe collecting vampire?". Sitting on the floor in front of him was, in deed, just that. Shade had never been so confused in her life! She walked over to the captain who was standing by the door that lead to the next hallway. "what do you make of the shoes?" she asked softly for she could hear the sound of creaking bones just beyond the door.

While completely distracted by his thoughts on the Tsaeci, his focus returns and he realizes he has been staring at, and the look returned by Shade.

His, taking in every feature, muscle movement and mannerism. And he is reminded that she as well is having a good look. And his secret may well have a short life if he doesn't deflect all their queries to his nature. Or he could come clean now and hope they don't kill him outright. And listen to his theory. Course he should confirm his suspicious ideas first. Luckily Shade turns and engages herself in her other surroundings.

So he approaches the next hall with the sound of dripping water, listening intently he even hears the comments on the boot collection. He quietly mentions "Perhaps, like Cleddau they don't wear boots." He peers around the corner and notices the stairway to what appears to be a fallen turret the detrious filling the lower and partially blocking the above but still open to the outside hanging moss, cobwebs and light streaming in. As he gets closer to the edge of the water he notices the portculus is closed. and starts looking for a lever, or switch and isn't disappointed by finding a chain. He notes it and returns to the others. "Or maybe they took them off cause they were gonna get wet in the next room. Cleddau hates water. Cleddau found a gate but he also found a chain."

Sabrina, feeling impatient with all this talk of shoes began to walk toward the next doorway. "It smells like feet and rotting flesh in here," she waved her hand in front of her nose to dispatch the stink, "Can we keep moving now?"

Walks up the hall to the next room, a collapsed tower it looks like. The sun streaming in and water dripping in the bottom have is filled with rock and water.

Cleddau walks up behind Sabrina... "Something in here making you tense? Cause I am feeling a bit tense and I can't lock it down to why?" pauses as she turns around. "It could be the newness of the group or the vampires and a unknown mission. What are your thoughts?"

Sabrina was made slightly uneasy by the closeness of Cleddau. "Tense you say? Why would I be tense?" She brushed the air by her head as if to shoo his words away from her ears. She turned to the group as a whole and steadied her breath, trying to contain herself.

"I know this place, and this talk of vampires may be a bit unsettling, but I've come too far to leave this now." She paused waiting for a reaction from the group, but all she got was blank faces, "I'm not saying this wont be dangerous. I'm just saying that I'm moving on, with or without help." She nodded reassuring herself that her words were correct, then turned to Cleddau, "Would you lead the way? I feel like the clanking of my armor would make our advance brutally obvious."

Crow noticed the cleddau and Sabrina beginning to move on."hey don't leave me behind!" he said moving towards them. As he got closer he began to smell rotting flesh."what is that smell?"he said looking down the corridor.

"Gladly, Cleddau lives to hunt silently." turns back to look at the others "And Cleddau was going to go on alone even if noone else was going to continue. Cleddau fears there is a deeper mystery to be stumbled on."

Shade hears the exchange, and has to think. Yes she does feel uneasy and its was something deeper than the natural fear of the coming combat with vampires. There is something about this mission and about Cleddau that have her wanting to know more and fearing the answers. "I too am gonna continue. There is something nagging at my persception. So I have questions to be answered, and will continue til I have answers."

Cleddau walks up to the water filled room and pulls on the chain a horrible clanking and clicking sound erupts from the works for the gate. And it slowly rises. Cleddau turns to the others "Well, this one hopes that there is no more loud noise making." Entering the next room in a crouch there are two visable doors and a set of three handles in the floor. Looking around, Cleddau has a uneasy feeling. "Don't touch these til I check for traps and secrets." Starting at the wall just to the right of where they entered he carefully feels along the wall gets about four feet and stops feeling the edge to a secret door. "Here is a secret." He whispers, then continues makes it to the opposite wall and again find the edge to a secret door "Here is another." Then continues again and makes it back to their entrance. "Cleddau thinks there is a sequence to the handles if you get it wrong these two doors open."
