    Welcome to Solitude!

Just inside the gates of Solitude is a large tavern, the sign in front has a Skeever with one eye shut like it's winking at you. You've found the Winking Skeever, a tavern and lodge. You open the door and the smell of rich foods, stale ale and sweet mead assaults your senses. Over the din of the customers you can hear a bard signing in the background. You step into the main room of the tavern and...

    WerewolfofSkyrim

    Night Mother's Beloved
May be roleplay here?If so,I would like to have the pleasure of roleplaying first:

Wulf shook his head, clearing the strong scents away.He swished his tail, and a young Dark Brotherhood assassin came in,her armor covered by a nice-looking fine garment. She looked at him,as if to say "Why here,my brother?"He glared at the Argonian's foolishness, then strode into the tavern.Gasps were heard from it as they took in his appearance.Quickly, the garments slid off him, exposing his Nightingale armor.Wulf flicked his tail, and the Argonian quickly did the same, allowing the clothes to fall in a heap at her feet."Now,would those that have money please drop some here on the ground,or I will kill one lovely lady at a time."Wulf gazed around, his cruel amber gaze locking on a fine young girl."You.Come here."He said, pointing to her.The lady's mouth hung open, but she closed it,held her chin high, and walked up to him."Money.Now!"He hissed, sliding a dagger from it's hilt slowly. The woman dropped all her gold septims, and darted back into the crowd."Good.Now,everybody give up their septims,or else I kill everyone in here exept me and my dear sister, here."He beckoned to the Argonian, and he saw pride flash in her eyes.Thats right..Little Argonian, shall we rejoice?"Barman!Get me and my fellow murderer a drink!""You didn't say anything about me leaving the Family, and now you want to rejoice? How sick can you be?"The female assassin asked him,her words teasing."Sick enough to deal with lycantropy."he replied, then glanced thankfully at the barman as he gave them a both a bottle of rare Firebrand wine.Wulf mrowed in laughter at the thought of the man going through the trouble of buying the wine for someone, then having to give some botles to a couple of assassins to keep his life safe.He gulped down the wine, and stopped at a fourth of the bottle.Glancing around,he sprayed some of th contents on the people, after tainting it with werewolf blood."Do not drink it,for if you do,you will be cursed with a werewolf's soul!"He yowled out,and the men and women dropped all their septims at Wulf's feet as they scrambled outside to wash themselves in their cozy little houses. The werewolf grinned at his friend, then drank the rest.He strode back out,and darted through the shadows, scampered up the Blue Palace, and sat out, gazing at the stars.

Here is a plus,he lured a member of the DB to follow him around and help him after he retired.

OOC: Generally, this, The Bannered Mare, and the Silverblood Inn are starting points for roleplay characters. Introduction of ones character and some roleplay. So sure, you can start out like you did... but I can guess that others may not jump to your provocation... but carry on and have fun.

Stepping into the main room of the tavern Antoine Strongknot made his way to the bar. The owner of the tavern, Corpulus Vinius looked up from his ledger and watched the stranger approach. The stranger was finely dressed in new clothes, but with a well worn pair of boots. Probably from the Radiant Raiment across the road. He walked with a bit of a swagger or more to the point a sway... a sailor no doubt, probably freshly of one of the ships, but he was no young sailor. He was a handsome fellow, tall, about six foot, short dark salt and pepper hair with a matching thin beard that looked like it was freshly trimmed too. His skin had that worn weathered look about it, tanned from days in the sun and sea. He carried a large duffel bag slung over his shoulder which he set down next to the counter as lightly as a feather. He was strong too.
"Welcome to the Winking Skeever friend... and before you ask... I had a pet skeever back in the day and it blinked a lot... so what can I do for you this evening?"
Antoine looked about the room. Lots of tables, most filled with at least one customer, the bard was a young lass and was playing a lute.
Turning his attention back to the innkeeper he said, "I'll have a room for a few days and a meal, what do you have that's good?"
"Well, there's a room available for 10gold a night and for another 10 gold I'll give you a nice warm meal including a tankard of ale or mead. Our special tonight is Grilled Mammoth steaks with grilled leeks and baked potatoes smothered in Eidar cheese... we also have a really tasty Slaughterfish Stew. Otherwise, 'ave a look see at this menu and pick something you like."
"Fine, I'll take the room, and start a tab for me." He fished his hand through a cleverly disguised slot in his outer jacket and pulled out a flawless diamond which he set on the counter. "I trust this will be payment for a few days, including meals and privacy?"
Corpulus stared at the diamond and when it was released, snatched it up saying, "YES Sir... this will do nicely for several days. Did you decide on a meal? Will you take it in your room or here in the dining room?"
"Show me to my room and then I'll come back down here and eat."
"Sure thing sir, may I have your name for the Inn room ledger?"
He looked at the InnKeeper for a minute and then decided it would be okay to say his name... after all, he'd decided to use a different name any how. "Strongknot, Antoine Strongknot."
"Right then, thanks Mr Strongknot and let me show you to your room, right this way." He led the man up the stairs to a balcony overlooking the dining area and to his room. After unlocking the door and leading the man into the room, he placed the key on the table next to the door and stepped back onto the balcony. "What was your choice for dinner sir, I'll have it ready when you return?"
"The mammoth steaks sound interesting, I've never had mammoth before... cook it medium rare to rare then would you?
"Right away sir." With that the Innkeeper closed the door.
"Ah such a nice room," bouncing on the soft bed he was almost ready to fall asleep. "Not until I've had some food and a good drink. Then I'll relax and have some fun."
He left his duffel on the floor next to the bed and went back to the dining area. He took a table near the wall and the fireplace that gave him an ample view of the room and the lovely bard playing her flute and skipping around the room. His meal arrived shortly and he sampled it while the Innkeeper hovered near by. It was delicious. He hadn't had a finer piece of steak in ages. He smiled at the innkeeper and gestured that he was happy with the meal. To which the Innkeeper smiled and clasped his hand together before running back to his counter.
He took his time savoring the meal and the fine spiced wine he'd ordered. He flirted with the Bard lady a bit and she danced, played and sang near him the entire night. The small ruby ring sitting on the table probably didn't hurt his chances either.

Did you post in the roleplay recruiting thread stickied at the top of the RP section? Generally a good place to start. Then posting your character in the Character card thread, with a history or section describing your RP or a link to the post in the Recruiting thread is a good idea. Same with posting an introduction to your character at the Inns... This gives people a feel for your style, and in your post you can banter about with the NPC's about your story. You have to get their attention... make them want to play.

    Kir the Silent

    Until Your Flesh Is Consumed
An older redguard sat in a dark corner slowly examining the patrons. His black-brown hair was peppered with grey. The old scimitar on his hip had lost its shine, but not its edge. Much like its weilder. Daran Dyash sat back and muttered to himself, "I know he can't do it alone, but gods did we really have to look all the way in Solitude?" He ordered venison chop and water, none of that nord swill would pass his lips. He opened the knapsack on the ground next to him and pulled out a bottle, "I wish I had brought more Stros M'kai Rum. If he doesn't hurry back I'll drink it all myself." He sighed thinking about the future and past, he loved the boy as his own but he missed Hammerfell. Hard to believe he had been back there less than two years ago. It felt like an era. His eyes wandered back to the crowd. Yet no one looked promising, and this was a delicate situation after all. They couldn't just hire anyone. "A few more hours," he muttered. "Then we may have to try elsewhere, take a carriage Whiterun maybe." His food arrived and he ate slowly, praying for a sign. "We need reliable assistance, after all. I'm too old to help as much as I'd wish."

He sat back in his seat and once more surveyed the tavern. For an hour he listened to the bard and the patrons. As with all the inns and taverns they had stopped at he listen especially for information about...him...the dark one. He could almost feel the evil...and the laugh...gods, the laugh! ow heard the bard singing "The Dovahkiin's Saga" and people still talked about what had to be the most boring gossip in all of Tamriel. When one conversation caught his ear. "Did you hear?" one patron said to another. "Someone actually robbed the Dragonborn's home in Whiterun!" The other leaned forward, "Really!?" The first nodded, "But they only stole some old dwarven dagger or some such. However they were, they're lucky the Dovahkiin retired to High Hrothgar." The old redguard raised an eyebrow, but after that the conversation grew rather dull. He had heard the door open several times during it and turn to observe the new faces. "Hmm, interesting..."

(Daran isn't my character, but rather has a minor role and provides intro into the story)

    Torbjorn
The door opened once more, and a tall Nord came walking through. He bolted the door shut and walked through the inn to the bar, he footsteps heavy. He was bald but hairy, with a huge beard. He was dressed in Iron Armour but wore no helmet; this was strapped to his belt, along with a drinking horn of mead.
He engaged in conversation with Copulus, who welcomed him back to Solitude but advised he did not stay long.

The atmosphere suggested the patrons knew this man, and were frightened by his presence, but daren't not do anything to force him to leave, both out of fear and respect.

He took his place at a table near the Redguard and drunk from his horn.

:L OOC: Maybe Belwas could join Torbjorn? Or you could introduce your other character

    TJohnson

    Torbjorn
OOC: Well I dunno where we'd be going with this - Torbjorn was just in Solitude to visit his brother, but maybe we could turn this into a quest. I'd rather have Belwas though

The door of the inn bashed to the inside, introducing a massive redguard. He called for mead and meat loudly, and then looked for a seat. Then, he saw Torbjorn. "Torbjorn, mate! How have you been?" Belwas took a seat at the same table.

    TJohnson

    Torbjorn
    Torbjorn grinned and looked surprised.
    "Belwas!" He bellowed,
"I've been good, friend - what brings you to Solitude?" He asked.

"Why, gold and mead! What else! You know, the Jarl herself gave me a job to crush some forsworn, so i did. Now i am 300 septims richer!" To show it, he pulled out some more coin. "Barkeeper! More mead for me and my friend here!"

OOC: True enough, it's easy to stop playing once you've played a lot
