Not saying its good for their business. It is however how they wish to do it. I'm not saying its the best way but its their only implementable way to handle the situation. Do I like it? No, but if that's the way they choose then so be it.

And I'm explaining reasons for their actions which is involved in this convo.

This is how Microsoft views those without internet connections and decent internet.

fluff them.

I still just... ugh. Really? REALLY? That is terrible for a company to do just UUGUGGGGGHGHGHGHGFVTXCDFHGV

One of the things I find funny is people complaining about the resale of used games. I personally find it funny because I have never resold or bought a used game and have amassed thousands of games over the years. I look at my games and go time and money well spent. I highly doubt it will be the downfall of Xbox One because some publishers might say you can't resell their titles. I could maybe see EA doing it but Microsoft said all their games could be resold through somewhere like GameStop. Some publishers let you play single player if you bought a used game but if you wanted to play Multiplayer you needed to buy a new "key". I see very little difference you bought a used game pay to play.

As for the always online, how many people today ACTUALLY don't keep their console connected to the internet the VAST minority? Your internet sucks go to another carrier, or see if fiber is in the area, unless you live out in the boondocks. Why people get pissed about this I have NO idea. Your computer, tablet, TV, console, phone, blu-ray and god knows what else is connected, why bat an eyelash that the Xbox has to have the constant connection. 1st world problems.

I've always liked physical media for games but have made peace with the fact that it is falling out and is moving to digital. I love the feel and smell of new games and books but I understand that with the progression of technology that the physical will be phased out almost completely. In some cases it's not a bad thing try carrying around 5 text books and assorted binders folders and such for college vs a nook with all the books on it and a laptop with everything else...

I'm very hard on my consoles with the amount of games I play and I have lost faith in Sony over the years with my card information being stolen 3 separate times. I have been with Xbox for 4 years and not once had to worry about a hacker taking my info, just the NSA.

Time for me to rip you a new one, so get the ass gel ready.

Used games have been part of the video game industry since the days of Atari. That's 30+ years of something that gamers are used to, that Microsoft and it's publisher fluff buddies are trying to change. I should not be punished because I want to purchase a game used. I want to save money, and I also want to try out a game that may not be all it's cracked up to be. Maybe if publishers and developers were pl***ting out GOOD games I'd be more then willing to fork over the 60 bucks for every game. Sadly, they are not. Amazing games that are cut upon the rest are few and far between nowadays. I'm talking along the scales of Shadow of the Colossus, Red Dead Redemption, and Oblivion.

Actually, GOOD stable internet is hard to come by. Despite what your feeble mind can comprehend. I live in a heavily populated area. My landlord's ISP is Comcast and their service is absolute crap. I, nor anyone else, should be PUNISHED for not having internet or not having good internet. Also, not everyone can go to another provider. For some regions, they only have access to one ISP, and that's it. So yea, please try me again with why people shouldn't be pissed about an always online console.

A small game disc is not the same as a large college textbook. Apples and oranges my friend. I want to own the physical disc. And do with it as I see fit. You are probably right, digital distribution is the way of the future for media. However, I don't have to like it, and others don't either. I will cling to the ways of old for as long as possible.

As for your card information being stolen, that's your fault for linking it to the machine. No one forced you to do so. Yes, Sony should have had better protections up, but anyone who puts faith in any of these companies to protect your information is a fool.

I love how you think that this is going to "rip me a new one". Hier gehen wir meine blodsinnig kamerad.

Used games have been around for a long time yes but if the industry changes then people have to change with it. Hell even agriculture has changed in the last 30 years (which has been around a whole helluva lot longer than gaming) but the used gaming industry can't because "people are used to it". If the industry can't change then it dies such is the way of capitalism. Did Microsoft say how they were going to share games between friends, no they were vague about it. Should they have clarified it yes. Should they have clarified how used games were going to operate yes. All failures on the part of Microsoft.

If you want to save money just wait a while to buy a game. Waiting will not kill you and all prices drop. I have only bought 6 games in the past year at full release price. If you don't want to buy a game that you may not like, here's a novel concept for you; RESEARCH THE DAMN GAME. If it gets Crap reviews from critics and other gamers and the game play doesn't look that fun don't buy the dang thing. Publisher are crapping out bad titles because people still buy them. Maybe if people stopped buying crap games they wouldn't make them. Did you ever think along those lines? There is still a demand for plopse games, just like there is still a demand for plopse Disney sequels. Do I think more games of the caliber of TES, Red Dead, Okami, SOTC and the like hell yes. But they take time and countless man hours to make. Expecting more games to be amazing is just asinine. Quick games like COD and Modern Warfare still turn a profit so they are going to do it.

If your landlord has Xfinity and you don't like it then move it is not like it is all that hard to comprehend. I have live in 7 different states and live everywhere from 45 minutes to the nearest Walmart, to in a high rise. there is almost ALWAYS another option. I say almost because some landlords of apartment complexes or HOA's have a contract with someone. Even when I lived in out in the sticks there was more than one provider there's satellite, DSL, dail up. Your ignorance is showing might want to back pedal a little. If you think you are being punished for having crap internet then that's your fault. Microsoft is not punishing you for having it. People are pissed because they have an always online console because it's never been done before. Oh heaven forbid that your console has to connect when you do that anyway.

I never said that a disc was the same as a textbook you evidently failed to realize that. I've noticed that PC trends become the next console trends. If this hit you as a surprise that this would happen to consoles well that's not my fault. When was the last time you bought a PC game disc? in the past 2 years I've bought less than a dozen, but about 40 games. Physical media is on the outs I don't like it but I realize that I can't stop it so why complain about it?

As for the Card information I did have it linked to the console idiot, but the thing about Sony Online Entertainment is that it doesn't just cover the PlayStation. I had a few MMO's that were on there as well. If I can't expect the company that I PAY to protect that information than why would I use their products.

All I hear out of the people complaining about Xbox One is b***h, b***h, b***h. Microsoft took a risk making a console that does something different. And all you guys can do is complain, you complain about what it needs you to do but not one of you have said what it can do for you. Other than the guy talking about the perverts watching porn while playing games. If your console is only for gaming, then fine but most people don't anymore. Microsoft made a console that appeals to people who do use it for other things. I was pissed off just like many of you, then I looked at the logical progression and came to the same conclusion Microsoft did, we need a console that is designed for more than playing games because we use them for more than playing games now.

**EDIT**
I love how when people can't argue with me they give me rating for bad manners or something else and think that it will hurt my feelings. :p Bad Manners ShenziSixaxis is telling someone to get the "ass gel ready", but you didn't rate that for Raymond? Or pointing it out in the first place on my part, so I guess now there IS a reason for you to rate it that.

Doctor Langstrom

I want to be FEARED!
Mindless dribble

Here's a novel idea, if it's not broke, don't fix it. The way the gaming industry has worked for the past 30 years has been just fine.

Where did I say I don't research the game? I do. Even when I'm pretty sure I'll be purchasing it used. I stand by what I said, if publishers and developers don't want their games traded in and then resold, then they need to make better games. Instead they pander to Dudebros and Gamergurls who just want to wank off to their K/D score in a plopsty FPS game.

Love your little rant about the internet. Shows how little you know about how ISP works. Where I live there is only Comcast and Verizon. However, only certain parts of my state have access to both of those ISPs. I'm not going to move house just to get a different ISP, that's stupid. Even more stupid since my Landlord includes the internet with my price of rent. You are basically telling people to move to get better internet, when their whole state might have only ONE provider. Do you know the definition of one? I'll sure it'll take another week for you to look it up and reply to me. Having crap internet isn't my fault, amazing internet just isn't my top priority because I have bills to pay and I have to feed myself. All my devices can operate just fine if the internet were to drop. My console should be able to.

And I'll complain about physical media dying all I want. I like to own my media. I paid for it, I want to own a physical copy for it. And if that changes in the video game industry, I won't be changing with it. I'll continue on with my retro gaming and not move forward.

And yes, it is your fault you had your info linked, kind of like how having crap internet is my fault right? But wait, I have no control over my internet, you do have control over how you use your credit card. So what if you had MMOs linked to it? You couldn't remember to pay it on time? Maybe you shouldn't have a credit card then, since you don't know how to use properly. Go cry more.

So you like a company basically telling you how to use a machine that you spent hard earned money on? You like the idea of not actually owning the games you purchase? That you are just renting them? But...what's this? Microsoft is reversing everything! I guess they didn't have enough of sheep like you standing in their corner. More people like me, you know the ones with brains, were unhappy about this and Microsoft saw how it was going to hurt their bottom line. That's what happens when you don't lay down and take it up the ass like you were doing.

And crying over ratings, are you serious? Wow. Are you outta the womb yet?

So Don Mattrick said "fortunately we have a product for people that aren’t able to get some form of connectivity – it’s called an Xbox 360″."

And now I shall never get an Xbone. Ever. It's absolute s*** that you have to connect to the Internet every 24 hours to authenticate your games to be able to play them. F*** you, MS. I'm sticking to the 360 slim.

Edit: apparently they have rescinded such a decision, and I was only informed of this via a friend, but as she said to me...

"Still, with all the bad press, and with just a simple software change, what keeps them from changing their mind again 6 months down the road?"

Oh bless your heart, all I hear from you is a frustrated small minded person. I'll use small words and shorter explanations so you can understand me.

The Gaming Industry is changing whether you like it or not. I hope you and people like you don't change with it so I don't have to suffer them. The industry panders to the "Dudebros and Gamergurls" because they are the one paying full price for games most of the time. The companies make the most money off them. Nothing off used game sales. Why would they pander to the used game crowd? Why would they not try and get a slice of it? They are companies that have to make money to continue making games. If the larger share of their profits comes from FPS and the zombies that play those games why would they not make more of them?

I highly doubt you know more about ISP's then I do, because I have worked as an installer and a technical support rep for 12 different ISP companies for the last 10 years. I have this little thing called on the job experience. There are there is no such thing as only one provider per state there is always another choice even if it's a local company.

In some states even the municipal (city) government has it's own ISP that you can purchase. If you complain about where you live why would you not move? I don't care what your bills are. I don't care about your life. I'm a poor married college student with 2 kids and a third on the way. I pay for all my utilities on top of rent and can still afford great internet and a decent house. It's called a budget, and the reason it took me about a week to get back to you is I went camping with my family, far away from idiots.

Having crap internet is your fault, you choose to have it. And before you say you don't chose to have it, do you not chose to continue living there? I don't care if it's part of your rent, that means its the cheapest that the landlord can get away with.

The point I was trying to make it that Sony let my card information get stolen. Not that I had my card linked or the MMO's I had subscriptions to. You're pitiful attempt to try and make fun of me for Sony's failure is childish at best. I don't trust Sony with my information why would I buy their products if I can't buy a DLC for a game without wondering if my card info is going to get stolen?

Is it a smart way to use my card if I trusted a place multiple times and got my information stolen multiple times with it again in any setting? Did you say OK to not joining in the Class action lawsuit against Sony when you said OK to that new update after it happened?

Microsoft was not telling anyone how to use their console. Just that it needed to be connected once per day. Most people do that anyway, so I failed to see why people were getting their panties in a twist over it. Any game that you purchase is only yours so long as you have the physical media, if it were to get stolen or a friend never gave it back it's not your any more. Possession is 9/10 of the law.

Microsoft was trying to make something yours the same way Steam does. You and the small minded people like you failed to realize that. Are the games you buy from Steam any less yours because you don't have the disc? You might not have the physical media but no one can steal it from you. Sheep follow the flock and complain not stand outside of it and think about the reasons WHY Microsoft did what they did.

Yes Microsoft went back on what they said they were going to do so what. The way that Microsoft proposed the Xbox One is how consoles will be done in the future get used to it. They want consoles to use an always on, part of the reason is the rampant pirating of DLC.

I wasn't crying over ratings I was making fun of Shenzi. You're obviously are too asinine to know that. Sort of like how I'm making fun of you right now and people like you.

But you'll probably won't believe that I am, and I don't care because at the end of the day, I still think that you are a complete pubescent moron with a superiority complex and a PlayStation fan-boy who has more lint in their pocket than brains between their ears.

I hope you had fun being an idiot because now I'm bored with you, because I had to explain simple things that make sense to my 3 year old but not you. Have a nice day.

Installer or not, where I live, I have one single choice for decent internet. Comcast. They bought out everything around them. There is no FIOS here. There is crap DSL and if I want to go "local", sure, I can dust off my old 56k modem, I suppose. Where my husband's family lives, they have dial-up or very craptacular satellite. That's it.

Any console I have is going to also be used by a child. I do not want any sort of automatic internet anything with her involved. She is not old enough to play games where she'd be in an online setting with the rest of an ill-behaved internet community. We have games to play with our family. I don't need or want any sort of internet connectivity restriction to play Lego Lord of the Rings or Skylanders. And I sure as hell don't want to deal with the disappointment of a child when the internet goes out and the games I "bought" wont work, despite having nothing on earth to do with being able to communicate with the rest of the net.

All that being said, personal attacks are not permitted. Attack the points all you want. "Making fun of Shenzi" or calling people idiots is out of bounds.
