    The Civil War is over,
both sides calling a truce and drawing up a peace treaty.
The Thalmor have no power; they are disbanded and sent back to Alinor.
Tamriel is split between the eight great houses; each pocket of land owned solely by its lord or king.
The kingdoms are completely separate. They trade, form alliances and occasionally go to war with each other.
And yet, Tamriel's people are much happier than they were under the Empire.
Having the choice of who to follow, rather than being branded a traitor for not following the Empire.
This is Tamriel's Golden Age, and you will shape it to your will.
This RP will be quite complex; both myself and the co-creator, CapObvious, intend for members to interlink their houses, perhaps by marriage, alliance, war, whatever you may choose. However, there are rules that must be followed to avoid arguments regarding this aspect.
    1. If you wish to take your kingdom to war, you must get the permission of the opposing kingdom. Absolutely no declaring war before both of the factions know about it.
    2. Alliances, marriages and the like may be organised via the RP itself; meaning, a steward of your kingdom may send a letter to another kingdom suggesting a marriage or an alliance. You must both agree, still. If the other person writes that their kingdom rejected the offer, pay attention to it.
    3. Your kingdom's application must conform to the template below.
    4. Otherwise, follow all general RP rules; no godmodding, no taking control of other people's characters, no hostility, etc.

    Name of kingdom: Snowhold

    Monarch/Lord: Lord Ulren Mormont

    Ruling family: House Mormont

    Family crest:
    Wolf_Crest_by_GuardianWolf_Ayumi.jpg

    Family motto: Snow Smothers All
Members of family: - Ulren "The Howler" Mormont, the Lord of Snowhold and Defender of Vvardenfell, aged fifty-six, bald and bearded but still a massive man, with the strength of a bull. He was the one put in power when Tamriel was split, and is still in power.
    - Kirsta Mormont, the Lady of Snowhold, aged fifty-three, known for calming her husband down when he is angry and giving her children words of wisdom. Married Lord Ulren when she was just fifteen, and Ulren eighteen.
    - Erik "The Legless" Mormont, the crippled firstborn child of Lord Ulren and Lady Kirsta. He was born a normal child, and remained so until he was three-and-twenty. He got so drunk he fell from a castle tower, and broke his back, leaving only his top half functioning, with both his affliction and the reason for it leading to his nickname. He is now thirty-one.
    - Ayara "Shiner" Mormont, the second child of Ulren, one of two twins, and first daughter. She took the place of Erik as the first-born warrior, preferring to take combat training than more lady-like things. She is beautiful and kind, and can be lady-like and courteous, but is also very adept at commanding Snowhold's troops. She and her twin are now twenty-seven. She currently holds the Mormont family sword, Glimmer. It gave Ayara her nickname, and the blade was named for its beautiful sheen; the holder of the sword always cleans the blade. It has been passed down over generations, and is still sharp and quick.
    - Soren Mormont, the second son. He is the twin of Ayara, and shares her personality. They get on very well together, though Soren is not as able in battle as Ayara. However, he still outclasses every man-at-arms in Snowhold.
-Ellia Mormont, the youngest daughter at nineteen. She is considered very important by her family; as Ayara shows no wish to be a normal lady, Ellia is often the one put forward for a marriage proposal. She favours brave knights over highborn lords, and is very close to her lady mother.
    - Fenris Mormont, the youngest son, aged just thirteen. He was named for the wolf of the Mormont crest, and is never far from his father and brother Erik.

Roles of each member: - Ulren rules Snowhold.
    - Kirsta helps nurse the children and teach them, while also accompanying her husband to court and advising him in many matters.
    - Erik is the steward of Snowhold, and also advises his father.
    - Ayara is the leader of the military in Snowhold.
    - Soren is the general of the military, the equivalent of Galmar/Rikke to Ayara's Ulfric/Tullius.
    - Fenris is simply the young boy of the family, who looks up to all of his siblings and loves his parents.

Other important staff: Hroar, Ulren's housecarl and bodyguard. Valgeir Ice-Mane, Jurgen Winter-Fist, Olav Halfhand and Savard the Old, the four lesser generals of Snowhold's military. They sit on councils with Ulren, Kirsta, Erik, Ayara and Soren in times of war to determine their method of dealing with the threat. Lilith Avalon, the Dunmer woman who acts as the ambassador for Snowhold.

Area of Tamriel: Northeast; East Skyrim, Solstheim, northwest Morrowind and Vvardenfell

Most common race of inhabitants: Nord, large population of Dunmer

    Capital city: Windhelm

Kingdom specializes in: Fighting in the cold, utilizing trained animals to aid their military, such as wolves, trolls and sometimes mammoths.

Kingdom is known for: Rarely venturing out of Snowhold; Ulren being the original Lord of Snowhold; having a strong, determined military.

Combat tactics: Utilizing trained animals to both lower morale of the opposition and fight them, while the soldiers use the cold to their advantage. Snowhold men are no strangers to cold, and can outlast any other man in snow, so they use that to their advantage by luring the enemy into the cold, and fighting them where Snowhold is strong.

Aggression level: Very low, quite peaceful normally. Even at war, Snowhold does not seek to expand its borders. However, the hold is very determined, and will not stop fighting if it comes to war.

Main weakness: Fighting in the summer heat of the more southerly kingdoms.

I am very interested in this thread. I remember a similar thread revolving around the Senate. If possible, could I reserve the Summerset Isles and post my card tonight?

    Name of kingdom: The Ebonsands

    Monarch/Lord: Lord Ruslan Mirell

    Ruling family: House Mirell

    Family crest:
    MX5_8i2wPMKX0ZlR8id4W3PxJv_MX0i-JWkw4epTkh_y3idtdWFfRWc73Kz5nkSISI3qAN1qmjSrcbtqR7KHUogNVGSZrqbMg0NbDwEPlc__p4z-eptGpAxv

Family motto: Fight only if it is just, Kill only if you must.

Members of family, and their roles:

    - Ruslan Mirell, the Lord of The Ebonsands aged forty, grey headed with a rough beard. He is a large man, built from years of training in the sands of the Alik'r as well as constant training in the art of war. He is the head of the house, as well as the chief adviser of the Battlelords, who have taken their place as his personal guard, as well as his most highly trusted troops. He was once a Battle lord himself, and still wears his old armor around the kingdom at times. Whether he is capable of using it effectively is anyone's guess, as he hasn't had to fight since he gained the throne.

Armor Ruslan is seen in from time to time.It is colored gold through many enchantments, but is still ebony made. Custom made to him, as is all Battlelord armor. (He is a broad fellow, so he fills it out better than this guy.)
    knight_of_thorns_steel_armor__for_skyrim_by_zerofrust-d5025fi.jpg

    - Maelona Mirell, the Lady of The Ebonsands, aged thirty-five, married to Ruslan since they were in their twenties. She is the also an adviser to the Battlelords, and is Ruslan's right hand as well. Often referred to as Ruslan's "Ebonarm". She is not the typical wife. She sports a mohawk with a braided strand coming down on the left side.

-Ennah Mirell- Ruslan's youngest and only surviving brother, dark haired and aged Thirty. Self-Proclaimed foreign diplomat. Ennah is not a true believer in the belief of true neutrality, and believes that no matter how strong they are, they would need allies if the other kingdoms were to attack. He is officially second in command of the Battlelords, however reluctant he may be. Ruslan believes this reluctance is a gift, as he will only use force when it is necessary, and keep his son in check.

Below is what Ennah dons in conflicts and negotiations. His armor is unique to him, as is all Battlelord armor.
    knight_of_the_silver_dragon__for_skyrim_by_zerofrust-d5025ln.jpg

-Alesun Mirell- Ruslan's and Maelona's one and only biological son. He is only at the age of 14, but is a Battlelord fanatic. He often follows his uncle Ennah around to see what they are up to, and Ennah allows as long as it isn't too much for a kid of his age. Has great endearment of his parents, as they are his greatest role models. He remains heir to the throne, when his father comes to pass from this world.

-Ilden Mirell- Otherwise known as Ilden the Silent. The adopted Nord son of Ruslan and Maelona. Around six foot two, with short, well kept blonde hair, and a rough but short beard, much like Ruslan's. Ilden is built strong and sturdy, as is in his Nord blood, as well as his time with the Battlelords. He is quiet and reserved, unlike most Nords seen throughout man's history. However, he is a excellent tactician, and will take whatever risk necessary to protect his people, as well as his family. He was not well respected at first, and using this, chose to work his way up the military chain of command the hard way, instead of being hand picked, as his father had known of his skill from sparring with him . He is now head of the Battlelords, with many scars to tell the story.

Below is Ilden's set of Battlelord armor. As is custom, it is unique to him.

-Krisandra Mirell- Twenty five, fanciful redguard woman. She is the oldest child of Ruslan and Maelona. She was to be heir to the throne, but declined, stating her talents wouldn't do good from the safety of a war room. In order for her to be at her best, she must be on the battlefield. She is the head of the ranger faction in Sentinel, and coordinates the protection of foreign trade and diplomats as they cross the territory. That is not all her job requires, but for the most part, the Battlelords do much of the work, so they are left to protect the House and it's people, throughout its cities. She is talented in shock magic, but with most rangers, she has neglected training with the sword and chose the bow instead. Her bow is ebony of course, enchanted with powerful lightning enchantment. She is quite beautiful, and has the eye of many suitors throughout the kingdom. She doesn't wish to be married at this time, but that can change...

This is what Krisandra wears as she crosses from city to city, and is her usual choice armor.

    Other important staff:

Delmar and Casnar, twin brothers, as well as Ennah's top lieutenants. They usually take the roles of Ruslan's protectors as well as the top commanders in wartime.

Olfin Gro-Shaknar is one of the two housecarls of Ruslan Ebonarm, the other being Ascien Thetri, a female breton. These two are the only non-redguards in places of power within the immediate family of the Ebonsands, aside from Their adopted son. There is no particular reason for this.

Aftar is the steward, though he mostly deals with the day-to-day court situations. He is a drunk, as he has quite a bit of time on his hands after hours, seeing as their is little foreign policy to be dealt with on most occasions.

Area of Tamriel: Hammerfell, as well as western Cyrodiil.

Most common race of inhabitants: Redguard

    Capital city: Sentinel

Kingdom specializes in: Fighting with blade and spell. Mostly sword and lightning magic. They have a strong ranger unit, as well as the Battlelords, who are highly trained battlemages. Staunch negotiators, they can and will end conflicts of their own as well as other nations, if it will only bring destruction to their people, or the people of those kingdoms involved in conflict. They also have a well-trained navy, and a Calvary, but the Calvary is only useful in the west hammerfell-cyrodiil area, as mounted combat in sandy areas is ill-advised.

Kingdom is known for: Staunch followers of Reymon Ebonarm. Purely reactionary in times of war, they will only wage war or interfere in war if the conflict brings about more harm than good. Known for their extensive, almost exclusive use of ebony arms and armor. They are also known for their navy,

Combat tactics: Utilizing training in battlemage combat, as as utilizing the previous desert ranger combat of the government past, they usually overwhelm their opponent using "shock and awe" tactics, usually in the form of lightning and shock charged arrow bombardment, while the ground team, usually lead by the the Battlelords themselves, sweep up any resistance.

Aggression level: Medium. They do not declare war without a just cause, however, if given enough reason, will crush any adversary with no mercy, as is the teachings of Ebonarm. If the land is conquered, the Ebonsands will not harm the civilians of the nation, but will instead add it amongst its empire, and treat the people as his own. Many see this action as generous, but the Mirell house despises the spilling of innocent blood.

Main weakness: Long conflicts in cold regions. Lack of friends in times of need.

Well, DoK filled up fast, and DoE is a sequel to DoK, with the same cast, save Ponder. There was no recruiting for DoE, so I suppose it was a good idea to start up your own kingdom-ish RP for those who missed the opportunity to get in on DoK.

    DoK = Dawn of Kingdoms
    DoE = Dawn of Empires

Anyhow, I wish you all the best of luck.

A friendly tip, though: try to get a general direction of the story before beginning the RP. Otherwise, everything will turn to complete all-out war way too soon and you won't get to explore any of the other parts of your kingdom, like diplomacy, domestic issues, and foreign relations (besides war). Trust me, all-out war may sound cool, but it's really not. You want to have a chance to flesh out your kingdoms and explore the parts and functions of it before completely focusing on war. A rough idea of a direction you want to take the RP will help avoid everyone declaring war right off the bat, and provide you with some guidelines early on.

Very solid advice Delusional. We will definitely take care of that asap.

I certainly don't intend on creating war immediately. I'd like to flesh out some alliances between kingdoms before we start the main thread, along with any relations between individual characters. For instance, if my Lord of Snowhold was an old friend of the Lord of the Ebonsands. That's the very least I want to flesh out before starting.

    Delusional

    Connoisseur of Hallucinations
The thing is, even just fleshing out relations between powers before beginning the RP isn't enough. We did that in DoK, but without any clue of a direction to take the RP in, things turned to war rather fast. Skyrimosity had to abridge the entire conquering of eastern High Rock from barbarian hordes in one post. That's not even cool.

    EpicVakarian

    Calibration-Master General
Any more advice for us to avoid that, then? I'll certainly try to stop all-out war, I'm sure Cap will too. Obviously that might not be enough but we can make sure the offender doesn't outright start war and get right into it.

    CapObvious

    A Rotten Scroungeral
Yes, an all out war at the very beginning would be detrimental. Any advice to keep this roleplay from getting butchered from the get-go would be much appreciated.
