Fallout 4 is going to be a massive game, and it deserves a special kind of guide.
Hence the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide, written as if it came out of the Fallout world. It's 400 pages long and includes detailed instructions on living, working, crafting and surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with only a dog for company.
Yes, this is technically a strategy guide, a publishing niche you would think had become obsolete, but if that's what you do indeed think, you haven't been to the "game" shelf at Barnes and Noble lately. Strategy guides have reinvented themselves and now target a market of collectors with "special edition" guides that come in fancy hardcovers with hundreds of glossy pages. Fallout 4 is no exception, but this time, it sort of makes sense. This would make for a great collectible accessory to the game, provided you can afford it.
If you for some reason want a normal-looking guide (and why would you in this case) Prima, the publishers, will also be putting out a paperback for $10 less. The nice-looking version will sell for $40. You can also get an eBook version for $10 if you're low on cash. All these books will be out November 10, the same day as the release of the game.
