    The Calling (18+)

    Thread Members- NO LONGER ACCEPTING!
    The Phantom- Erebos Larethorin
    Sid- Arthonnen Gilandil
    Dabiene Caristiana- Severus Alucard/Soren Volkihar
    Kaelbu- Fleur Baudin
    Skies- Merce Wickhart

The cry rang out, piercing even the Hall of Valour, as the blade passed over Alduin's throat. Then, for a moment, a brief moment, silence. And then, a loud bang as the time and space surrounding the World Eater seemed to shatter and his scaly armour exploded, flung in all directions leaving nothing but the curious, nigh-formless essence of the primal dragon in its place. Alduin cried out in panic and distress, still in his arrogance not conceding to the possibility of defeat as his very form was torn asunder and absorbed into the vortex that was the sky of Sovngarde, realm of Shor. For a time the ground shook and the sky was chaos itself, and finally, peace. The sky cleared, the mist was gone and the heavens were calm once more.

The Last Dragonborn, descendent of the Nerevarine, grandson to the Champion of Cyrodiil, commander of the Blades, Listener of the Night Mother, Harbinger of the Companions, Archmage to the College of Winterhold, vanquisher of Paarthurnax and slayer of Alduin, stood before the heroes of Sovngarde victorious. The heroes soon began to cry "Hail the Dragonborn! Hail him with great praise!" and the half-god, Tsun, returned the Dragonborn back to Nirn where forever more he would be praised as a hero.

    That was twenty-five years ago.

Every year following the ending of the World Eater, a celebration would be held to celebrate the slaying and honour the Dragonborn on the anniversary of the vanquishing. For the twenty-fifth year, the Dragonborn has planned to make it the greatest celebration yet. For today he would be hosting a Grand Tourney. All are welcome: warriors, rogues and mages. Of all who show however, there will be but six victors. And for the victors, the Dragonborn will bequeath a prize beyond worth- The power of the Last Dragonborn.

Upon news of the prize spreading, all who could hold a sword flocked to where the celebrations are to be held. The Calling of the Dragonborn. Warriors of all kinds scurried to prove their worth. Rogues both of stealth and style came to claim the prize. Mages of all schools across Tamriel ventured in order to demonstrate their power and expand it. But of all the potential combatants, only those the Blades deemed worthy were allowed to compete. An estimated 150 of the countless who applied were accepted by the Blades, and now they must each duel.

Those who were deemed unfit to partake or merely had no desire to are to be spectators, making these the celebrations the largest Skyrim has ever seen. The games and celebrations themselves will be held in a temporary camp and arena that has been set up in the Plains of Whiterun. All of the Jarls will be in attendance, Ulfric and Tullius allowing a temporary truce. There have also purportedly been a rise in vampire attacks recently and a group of curious cultists have been seen in the wilds near Windhelm- though few have taken note of either of these due to the current events. Furthermore, even the Thalmor are in attendance, having sent an ambassador and one of their most skilful mages to partake in the games as a sign of goodwill. For today, all will attempt to appease the Last Dragonborn.

Okay, so, in this thread we will RP as one of the six victors and after the prologue effectively become a Dragonborn- or, alternatively you can start out as a spectator, unwelcome tag-along, etc. and not be Dragonborn if you so desire. The plot that we partake in will be our own interpretation of the events of the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC, though I am open to suggestions on alternative plotlines.

This thread will be for experienced writers- If I don't believe that your CC fits the thread or is up to par, then prepare for rejection

    Rules:
    1. No godmodding (Though given that we are among the best warriors in Tamriel, the scale will be upped slightly. But please, no "I've been alive since the first Dragon War and could kill a god with ease" characters)
    2. No meta-RPing
    3. No controlling of other people's characters
    4. General Rules
    5. Correct spelling and uses of grammar
    6. Don't be afraid to confront me if you think I'm guilty of breaking the rules
    7. Try to be active
    8. Do have fun!

(While the thread is labelled "18+" it does not necessarily mean you must be over the age of 18, merely prepared for mature themes and gore.)

I would prefer CCs to follow the rough format of my own:

    Armour-
    images

    Description-
Erebos is of average height for a human, notably short compared to other High Elves but the way in which he holds himself seems to make him appear taller than he truly is. He is attractive for an elf, having a pronounced but not square jawline and high-cheekbones. His face seems rather thin and he is quite pale, which complements his blonde hair which he ties back to keep from falling in his face. His eyes, though not striking, are a sea green and his face has black, tribal looking tattoos. The armour he wears is not the
customary Thalmor uniform, instead donning his own customised armour. He has a small, light steel breastplate with his sigil engraved on the metal, a star with a mage staff in front of it. The rest is cloth apart from his greaves with a small amount of mail on his arms and a gauntlet in order to provide protection and keep him light. The armour is white and that which is red in the photo is grey in his actual armour. He also has a hood which he uses in order to conceal his features. He is of a lithe, lean build, yet surprisingly strong for his stature.

    Personality:
    Laterality- Right handed
    Sexuality- Bisexual
Marital Status- In a hidden relationship
    Description:
Erebos, despite being a high-ranking High Elf, is surprisingly modest due to his impoverished background. He takes great pride in his magical prowess and intellect, but rarely flaunts it. He accepts the beliefs of others though in public will denounce Talos and all gods but those of the elves' due to his position as Inquisitor. To those he doesn't know he will adopt the guise of a callous, snobbish Thalmor agent however once someone gets to know him he will drop the facade. When he isn't in public, he will be lighthearted and somewhat jovial, rarely angered and often reasonable. He is also rather cunning, and ready to seize an opportunity should it occur, often gaining allies and even putting defeated enemies that he has spared into his service. However, he does also have his flaws. Erebos will often start kind, however he is not afraid to give orders or force others to do things they might not want to and if he is made angry has a habit of making threats; usually resulting in a singed and irritated second party. He also despises the Thalmor and their philosophies, seeking a way in which he can end his service to them that won't result in his untimely demise.

    Fighting Style:
Weapons- Keeps a dagger strapped on his back thigh, customised and weaponised mage staff through which he prefers to channel his magic in place of spells like fireball. The latter staff is pure, ornate metal, the head being an eagle of the Aldmeri Dominion (He was given little choice by his smith) and the bottom half made of oak wood having a medium length blade so that it may be used as a spear in close quarters.
    Fighting Style:
Erebos mostly stays back from battles, staying on high-ground and casting powerful, destructive spells into the enemy. If he wishes to kill enemies who he might risk injuring allies by attacking, then he will use his staff in order to aim his spell precisely before firing- channelling his magic through and blasting unwary opponent away. Should his allies be demoralised, he will personally lead the charge, wielding his staff as a two-handed spear while imbuing its blade with flames. Furthermore, he will augment himself with his magic in order to compensate for the weight of his weapon, thereby increasing his strength and speed, also often casting spells arbitrarily for extra damage. In smaller scale or solo combat, he will attempt to stay at range and decimate his opponents as quickly as possible by casting incinerating spells. If they manage to close the distance he will use his spear-staff and then use magic under-handedly to win. He is easily one of the best mages in the Summerset Isles despite not being well-versed in the traditional schools of magic. Furthermore, due to his experiences and style, he isn't particularly well-versed in countering other fighting styles, being highly offensive and in danger when having to defend, always trying to stay on the attack.

    Biography:

Erebos was born in a small, impoverished and now forgotten village in the Summerset Isle. His father had abandoned his mother, who also died when he was around five years old. Following that, he fended for himself, often trying to make things better for himself. It quickly became apparent that he had a natural talent for magic and combat as he would often use magic in order to defend himself on the streets until finally he left for the wilds.

Soon after wondering in the wilds, Erebos found an isolated group of High Elven mages of peculiar specialisation. They had invented their own version of a Battlemage which was focused on magic-augmented combat as opposed to the traditional combat/defensively augmented magic. They took him in upon seeing his magical and physical prowess, training him in their ways until the age of 18. By this point he had become the greatest of all their warriors, though tensions soon began to rise as the elders started to view him as dangerous.

Erebos, now adopting his own conjured family name, "Larethorin", wished to start seeing the world and leave the tribe. They greatly disapproved as they wanted no others to ever see the magic that they had invented and wished to only preserve their way of life. Larethorin cared little for their concerns and attempted to leave the tribe, managing to visit the nearest city for a brief time before they tracked him down and forced him back in secret. Unbeknownst to them, while Erebos was in the city, he had made contact with a Thalmor agent and given him a meeting location in the forest near the tribe.

He met with the agent at night and made a deal with him. The associate of the Thalmor would build for Erebos a life in Alinor if he took a small group of Thalmor diplomats and mages to the tribe in order to make contact with them. The young High Elf agreed to the terms, taking the envoy with him the next day. Upon informing the tribe's leader, he screamed for the tribe to kill Erebos for telling others of their tribe's loaction. The leader then initiated a battle with Erebos, which ultimately ended in Larethorin's victory. Just as the leader fell to Erebos's staff-blade, the Thalmor envoy arrived, saving the young High Elf from certain death from his tribe.

After the battle, Erebos felt surprisingly not as guilty as he first thought he would, believing the tribe to be cruel, selfish people and taking pride in the fact that he alone remained as the exemplar of his Battlemage variation. The leader of the Thalmor envoy, admiring his zeal, offered him a place among them in exchange for the secrets of the tribe. Of course, Erebos knew little of the Thalmor at the time and thus minded not that he would be drafted into their ranks. He was first trained in the ways of the Thalmor and served the next three years as a hunter of Talos worshippers. He saw little reason for his hunt yet he obliged nonetheless as was his duty to his "saviours".

Thus, by the age of 21 he had become a respected Thalmor Justiciar, despite having great distaste for the job. He was then promoted to instructor and interrogator- he was to teach the new Thalmor Justiciars the ways of one, combat train the Thalmor elite and interrogate those they captured. It was during this time he met the love of his life, an Imperial woman named "Arnora Petillius", a noblewoman of Erebos's age. She was dark haired and beautiful, and over the course of the interrogation the two fell in love. Together, they orchestrated a mass escape of Thalmor prisoners that appeared an accident and occurred while Erebos was absent in order to abstain him of any guilt. Since then, the two have kept in contact by smuggled letters, Erebos rarely having an excuse to visit.

Despite this, he was very successful in his job and proved an effective interrogator, often choosing to be nice instead of torture as he believed that any information extracted under torture was likely false and unreliable in order to stop said torture. By the age of 25 he had been made,"The Inquisitor", leader of the Thalmor Justiciars as a whole, commander of their forces (though practically he only commanded those he was with), and is trying to ease the Justiciars of the Summerset Isles to be less harsh, though this has made him rather unpopular with some Thalmor politicians. However, due to the unwavering loyalty of those under his command, the Thalmor can't remove him from his position without the Justiciars likely rebelling.

Little do the Thalmor know that Erebos would give much in order to leave them with his head still intact and thus when the Dragonborn announced the tourney, both the Thalmor and the Inqusitor nominated him as their champion to represent the Thalmor at the celebrations. He is to compete in the games to show the Thalmor's support of the Dragonborn, the Thalmor hoping he will die and they will be rid of their mistake, Erebos hoping he will be able to use the power of a Dragonborn to safely leave the Thalmor's empirical clutches once and for all.

Yes, the prologue will begin near the end of the tourney as our respective characters win. It shall progress from there. Though, if you'd like the tourney to be longer, it can be discussed, I suppose. Awesome, Specter. There's no rush if you can't though.

    Armor:
    View attachment 39841

    Description:
A strong-built Bosmer, Oromis has the perfect build of a hunter. He is a very simple man and it shows in his appearance. With crude ragged clothes that he wears under his armor which is always equipped. Wearing heavy Imperials armor and a captains helmet he puts on when he wants. When he is not on the job he prefers to don on his deathbrand armor made of beautiful stalhrim to make it easy to travel. Aside from his war paint on his left eye he also has a tattoo bearing the imperial insignia on his right shoulder. Oromis is very scarred from his journeys from Valenwood and has a rugged beard which is very scruffy and dark. Despite his ragged appearance women often think he is a very attractive man.

    Personality:
    Laterality: Right-handed
    Sexuality: heterosexual
Marital Status: secretly has wife and daughter
    Description:
While Oromis may seem like an ass to most he always does what he thinks is right. Those who get to know him better end up being close and he has stayed in the theives guild partially because of the brotherly bonds. He has one set of rules that he governs his life with: "I won't be wrong'd. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them." One of his defining qualities is his loyalty mainly to the Imperials. However he despises the Thalmor and goes out in secret taking the fight to them attacking whatever thalmor soldiers he finds patrolling the roads. He wishes that one day the thalmor can be wiped out and ulfrics head cut off (preferably by him). While loyal to sanguine he does recognize the nine divines godhood and openly expresses his ideas of talos being a god.

    Fighting Style:
Weapons: uses a powerful daedric bow given to him by sanguine himself with a medium shock damage as well as a stalhrim dagger strapped on his shoulder to trap souls. Carries a dragon bone war axe always hanging on his left hip that has been passed down through his family for ages and has his last name carved in the handle. It has a weak but effective fire enchantment.
Fighting Style: while delving through dungeons he sneak using his bow and dagger to shoot and backstab whoever is in his way. He takes out as many enemies as he can before he is discovered and then equips his families war axe chopping down his opponents with brutal strength. Usually though he is never detected. When attacking a stronghold or fort he prefers a more head on approach taking out his war axe right away and leading the charge. His skill with a bow is unmatched and he was the best in his village on Valenwood although he is still deadly with his axe and should not be underestimated in hand to hand combat.

    Biography:
Not much is known of Oromis's childhood other than he was born on the 2nd of first seed 194 in the 4th era in a small village within Valenwood. While he did not come from a poor family Oromis always chose a simple life over an expensive luxurious one. During his adolescents he realized that he wanted more out of life and made the decision to leave Valenwood.

At the age of twenty he left there and set out for Morrowind. On his way he came into many setbacks. First an attack by bandits in the middle of the night. While badly wounded he did manage to repel them and, when he got his strength back, tracked them to a nearby cave and killed them. He also discovered an abundance of wild animals including a nasty saber cat that gave him the scars on his shoulder.

After several months Oromis made it to morrowind where he decided that he would like to see vardenfel. He decided it was too bleak for him and that he was not too fond of the dark elves although he did want to learn more about them. So he traveled to solstheim and, after a few months with the dark elves in raven rock, went to skaal village.

He stayed here for two years hunting. This is also where he first met sanguine. On a hunting trip the daedric lord appeared to him and took him to his realm of oblivion saying that he had been studying Oromis for many years and that he had chosen him to be his champion (mainly due to Oromis's free spirited nature).

While exploring the island he encountered some bandits and took them out finding a piece of highly enchanted stalhrim armor. He then tracked down the rest of the armor and found it was called deathbrand when one of the skaal told him.

Wanting to explore more of tamriel he went to skyrim where he was first recruited to the theives guild. His skills in hunting greatly attributed to his sneaking and he quickly rose through the ranks and accumulated much money. When hearing about how the war was still continuing he figured he should join a side. Due to his absolute disgust of ulfric he joined the Imperials where he has faithfully served for almost 9 years.

Since the empire sent him traveling a lot he eventually met a young imperial woman who he fell deeply in love with. They got married and when she became with child Oromis moved them to a cabin in the forests of falkreath for their protection. He felt that if the thalmor ever discovered him they would go after her and the same would happen if it was discovered he was in the theives guild. Therefore he hid them close to where he was stationed so he could keep an eye on him.

When the call for the tournament came he could think of no better way to protect his family and really take the fight to both the stormcloaks and thalmor. And went to the tournament as the Imperials representative

I am terribly sorry. However, I feel that you are lacking in depth, some points of grammar and other qualities in your writing. I mean no offence, but I do not believe that this is the thread for you and that your use of superlatives and the whole Sanguine thing lead me to believe that your character does not suit this thread. I apologise and hope that you don't feel offended.

Sorry Phantom, I am still having some weird Network issues on my Laptop. Right now I am using my phone's web browser to update you. Anyways, there seems to be some sort of Network output issue that is keeping me from even using the internet at all.

I have however, started writing my CC, and will likely finish it tonight. If I get lucky, with a bit of YouTube and the help of my Phone's browser, I can try and fix my laptops issue with connecting to the output I have.
