When using a staff, where does the experience go? I speak only for the staves violent in nature... such as the Staff of Fire. Does it level the Destruction skill, one handed skill, or is no experience gained?

That's a good question. I'm working on an illusion-centric mage at the moment and have spent some time dual wielding staves and I haven't gotten any skill-ups that I remember, lol.

As far as I am aware of staves don't give any experience which is probably why they are better off being used as a backup for when you run out of magic (If you are a pure mage) or carried around as a magic damage tool if you wish to only train physical skills.

If you use them often you will need to acquire souls to recharge them which will up your enchantment skill, of course. So essentially staffs are an enchantment thing.
