The mannequins have always freaked me out. Every time I enter through the basement entrance in my Solitude home, I feel uneasy seeing the mannequins standing at the very end. Now the thought of moving mannequins is going to haunt me O____O

LOL, I've had that same feeling. A few times when I was really tired playing I've walked in the basement enterance and saw them and instantly crouched to hide and drew my bow... only to realize what they were.
Doh!

Would be hilarious if they started following you around everywhere... even up mountains. Don't think they're THAT badly glitched though.

Has anyone run into the glitch with the mannequins that they turn invisible when you put any armor on them? Had this happen several times to both then finally one of them showed the DB armor I put on it. Do you need the full set for it to show up? It still sisn't showing my theives guild armor I have on the other one, just shows only the head with nothing on it.

Only issues I have with my mannies is that they frequently undress. I'll come back and one will have nothing on it. At fist I thought I lost my armor, but it was all their when I opened the mannie up. Just had to "take back" and "give to" to get it to reset. This continues to happen sporadically. As of yet no mannequins have come to life, would be creepy if I found one in bed. Would make me feel like one of those losers that spends all their money on "Real Girls" or whatever those dolls are called.

I finally picked up an extra house (Solitude) and am excited to set the mannequins up. Would be an awesome mod to be able to purchase and place as many of these as you like... would love to display various armor all over the place. I think Solitude has 2... is there a house with more than that?
yeah, I'm sure pc guys/gals could make a mod where more mannequins ,display could be added. wish they made it so you could purchase more stuff to display your stuff.

That is annoying glitch, to fix it put a necklace on the mannequin then exit out. Activate it again and remove the necklace and youre mannequin should be visible with what ever armor you put in. Does not matter what necklace it is.

My mannequins in Riften move around all the time. One time I got home and my husband was at the enchanting table and a mannequin was standing right behind him looking over his sholder. Another time I got home and went in the basement in time to see a mannequin standing on the other side of the room from his stands.. I swear he ran over and stood on his stand. I guess my house is haunted. I didn't know if this happened to anyone else but it's freaky and neat. They change their position all the time. If I access them they usually straighten up.

Glad it worked, found the solution here when I ran into that problem too :) Never had the mannequins moving about and hovering over you as you wake, just creepy lol

For some reason that trick works on some mannequin and not on other meaning in Solitude one of my mannequin will always be visible while the other would be invisible. I do the trick,it comes back but when I leave and come back after awhile it's invisible again.

I am having the same issue in Solitude. Resigned to just let it be.

He who moves it moves it

But seriously. There's an explanation for it.
Skyrim's mannequins are actually NPCs, that are disabled when you're in the same cell as them. Being in a different cell means they can move just as any NPC does, resulting in them being anywhere in your house when you enter.
For those with PC, open the console, click on a mannequin and type 'Enable'. You'll see why.

This morning, I entered a house I'd downloaded called 'The Reserve', to find six mannequins walking around the center of the room. They quickly returned to their stands, but I don't think I'll ever trust the bastards again.

when I bought my house in Riften, I went downstairs to check things out. the mannequins were in the middle of the room and seemed to be breathing. I clicked on it to activate it and it struck a pose with both arms up bent at the elbow, like a bodybuilder. Moved to the second mannequin, and it did the same. needless to say, i left quickly.

I play on XBox. yeah i was freaked out....

I went back a day or so later and they were where on their stands like nothing ever happened. Someone is messing with me?? o_O
