Seeing those... It doesn't bother me much since they're mods and I don't need to download them. I'm really thankful most of the armor in Skyrim are... Armor and not metal bikini's. (Even if Bethesda does use the most revealing clothes in promotional videos, but hey that's business). Plenty of other video games are just ridiculous when it comes to sex appeal @-) And we were forced to wear it. :p

The implication does bug me though. It's to be expected of video games, I guess, but still.

And before anyone says something along the lines of: "You wouldn't care if it were sexualized male characters" Actually... Yes, yes I would. I mean, yeah hot guys are good but I don't need a stud walking around shirtless in combat. Its ridiculous @-) But then again, males and females are held to different standards. Some males don't have to be fashion models to be considered attractive, sometimes just being rich or cool or having a certain type of personality or even just a sexy voice is enough. Hm... This got me thinking :/

Actually men are sexualized all the time. How often do you see a hero (outside of your typical cartoony fat guy or kids) that aren't sporting six-pack abs and a chiseled face? They are at least attractive and fit even if they aren't bursting with muscles. Women just don't want to see men with their clothes falling off as much as men do with women. But you do see a lot of heroic males (in all media, not just in video games) in form fitting outfits even if its as subtle as a tight tee-shirt and a lot of 'suave' men in classy suits and tuxes (also pretty seductive to women). I believe you care, but for the most part no one causes an uproar about sexualized men.

Personally I've just accepted the fact that sexuality is in the media all around us. Its what people respond to. Repressing sexuality is about as easy to repress as hunger. Its what we are hard wired to do.

Yeah, I was thinking that... Women get sexualized frequently, but males are too. It's just... We're held in much different standards. (The whole women-looks males-looks, power, wealth, confidence, etc.). Yeah... not many people care. But in video games, I suppose women are sexualized more... Since it still is a male-dominated medium, afterall :p They're gonna cater to the highest demographic. Like how Twilight is written as one woman's fanfiction fantasies.

Yeah, I don't like the whole idea of sexual repression. Makes people huge hypocrites and all @-) Though for me, I'd rather have them... Separated. There's a time and place for everything and all. I dunno, maybe I'm coming off as a prude lol. But... For me, when there's sexuality involve I always gotta ask myself "Is it necessary?", does it add up to the plot or characterization, whatever, and isn't just there to pander to the fans. For example, a seductive spy works, since its part of her characterization, or a prostitute. But I don't wanna see like... A female solider in short shorts, heels and cleavage-exposing tank tops... Because wtf. Just my 2 cents @-)

I think what really bugs me is that, no matter how competent a female character is presented to be, she's reduced to a sex object to be gawked at. At least, that's what I've been seeing.

Ugh... I hope I'm making sense :))

Yeah, I agree women are more sexualized in video games.

The whole reason I don't download the skimpy armors is because in a game like this, for the most part, it isn't necessary and just doesn't make sense. Then again, I've seen mods of Warhammer 40K armor that covered everything and made just about as much sense as a chain mail bikini  . If you can justify why your character would were skimpy armor (as others have) then use it.

Are you guys seriously having a conversation like this that includes over 200 replies!?!?!?!? Come on guys this exactly what the modders wanted when they made these mods and that is lots of attention.

There's no problem in my mind with "Skimpy" armor mods, females for decades in science fiction have been put in revealing outfits, its a bit silly for heavy armor to be that way, but for light armor or cloth, I think its fair game. I think there should be a mix of "practical" armors and "skimpy" armors, because sometimes the females I make are dressed head to toe in full armor, and sometimes they wear very little.

Its not always about being a "perv" or "sexist", I mean look at Wonder Woman. The only excuse one could make to explain why her boobs wouldn't be falling out every other page of that comic book is that its "magic" armor, and she's far from a negative depiction of females in fantasy.

Sure some of it is purely for guys who have too much time on their hands, but hey, you don't have to install those particular mods.

Look, I don't care whatever people do with their time, but when it starts looking like a porn shop, I just don't come back. Some people are actually offended by nudity, and this game was made "modest" for that reason. If Nexus wants to lose customers, then go ahead, and continue not caring about NSFW. I'm no prude, I play with myself, and all, but I don't do it in front of everbody else. I know some kids surf Nexus, good job guys. You don't have to share your sick fantasies with everyone else.

So a woman's breast offends people, but severing people's heads, smashing their chests in, burning them alive, disintegrating people to dust, and planting poisons on people to kill them is just a-okay? Skyrim is practically pornographic in its violence.

Skyrim is modest when it comes to displaying sexuality, but definately not in some of the in-game material (there's books about a guy who raises female corpses to have sex with them).

fluff. Kill. plops. Rape. Co**. Vivisection.

Yep, that's how our society is set up. I can say "I'm gonna fluffing Kill you" on TV, and which word get's censored? Not saying it's right, just the way it is. My only problem with teh "sexy" mods is they're tasteless, and immature. You actually have to try a lot harder to offend me.

I said people, not you necessarily. I don't have the perk yet that allows me to read minds.

Some of them are tasteless, like some of the real sexual ones, but then again some guy is running around with a naked anime girl with dual wielded lightsabers have the time of his life. I don't play the game that way, but its like anything. Think of each year how many absolutely crappy movies, crappy games, and crappy songs are released, and how only a minority of everything produced is of true quality. Mods are the same.

I look at a skimpy set of light armor, and I kind of treat it like a daedric artifact. It can protect you but be skimpy because it had magical power. Plus, I also dress like my character does in game (and I play mostly female characters) so I want to look sexy while I play Skyrim. For immersion purposes, of course. ;)

One thing I always liked about TES was that the armor and clothing was realistic in the sense that clothing and armor covered up both men and women. Mods have changed that but thankfully it is my choice to install them or not. But Skyrim is your game and people are free to play it however they wish.

Watch out for hop-ons.
I'm relieved to see that not everyone faps over the nearly-nude mods. I give youtube the tisk/side-eye combo every time I see a video someone's thrown together of all the naked girls with giant boobies they've created.

Oh, I knew about nude mods.
I meant mods featuring the actual act of sex. I just checked. They exist *facepalm*
Fable? Is that.... you? The next mod will be STD's and Kingdom Management.

For what it's worth, Fable III (and I'm assuming the first two) just had the screen fade to black, played jazzy music, and you heard some giggling and whatnot from the hero(ine) and his/her partner. It was played more as a joke than anything.
Even funnier was that you can still hear NPCs walking into your home to comment on your fashion in the middle of all this.

Most people don't actually. A lot of people will download skimpy armor for their characters for one specific character they might be making, but its doubtful they do this with every character they make.

I think it's so sad how people have to go and make mods like this, get a girl or find a bloody magazine. Besides their's plenty of plops on the Internet when it comes to woman, I never even look at those mods and just sigh really, it's pretty disrespectful to Woman in my opinion. Making it out that their all sluts which is so not true, I've played as woman on Skyrim before yeah, but just because I always make two character, one male one female. Not to stare at some animation, shows how sad the community of people playing Skyrim are really.
And by the way, about Fable, only Fable 2 and 3 had sex, and it was a black screen. On Fable one their wasn't even the option, you could be married but have the most deprived and boring marriage, walking around town doing nothing :p
Honestly I'd love for you to be able to have kids on Skyrim, but fluff me all the perverts on Skyrim would find the woman with the biggest tits and constantly have sex on a game.
