"And we already have a contestant out! This is an exciting match-up, isn't Harry?!"
"Sure is, Tom, and it was such a strong one as well, shame he pretty much quit. I can't wait to see who's next!"

I love it cause it's got the Draconian look to it. It did have a lot of endgame enchants and stats to it, and maybe tomorrow I can provide the actual info.

Mr.Self Destruct, call it whatever you want. I don't accept your view and I don't accept the cultural view of something being self-degrading. I only accept two things as absolute: that there is a Creator, and that I will do my best to treat other people the way I want to be treated, and even that I can only take the ability to accept in terms of my own sphere of influence.

Well, that works for me. I'm just tired of this.

I have read every single post in this thread and WOW. Are there mods on this forum?

I think everyone needs to take a step back. The few people who have called for some sort of middle ground has been passed over for the back and forth nonsense. Like several other people have said, it's a single player game. You also have to remember that there are all types, ages, and what-not that play this game. I guarantee you a 12 year old boy who just saw his mum's boobies when she was getting out of the shower is going to want some over exaggerated nonsensical outfit on his Skyrim character. And whose to stop him? (Ignoring the fact his parents should be, but that's another argument entirely)

I, personally, don't care for the over the top stuff. I play console, but in other PC games, I never go for the bikinis or things like that. I love strong female protagonists and I try to keep things in accordance to what I believe makes a strong woman in fiction.

But, seriously, everyone relax. There's enough room in Skyrim for everyone.

OH! And please tell me I'm not the only one old enough to remember the "bad girl" comic books from the 90s? During the 90s, I loved it. Looking back, not so much. Here's a link for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about: Bad girl art - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I read that in the voices of 60's mafia guys plus baseball announcers from old cartoons.

I actually don't think kids should be playing video games in the first place. (If I ever have any kids and that's unlikely to ever happen because I'm not even looking for a girlfriend (after all the experience I've gone through with my ex-fiances, my ex-brother, and my own parents, it's just not for me - I'm even hopefully going to get myself fixed in the next year), video games would be the last thing they'd be thinking about.)

As I look at the first post, I see this:
What do you guys think?
And look at what this thread has erupted into. Petty squabbles over personal preferences. I don't think any of us have truly answered his question.
I don't like it, as stated previously, so I'll just end it at there.
I tried to but it got lost in the pettiness of this thread...

Well, I think to completely rule out video games is a bit extreme. I do think kids should be playing age appropriate games, though. There are ratings on box for a reason. Some parents...well, they just don't really care.

What I think is worse is parents using video games as a substitute for parenting.
"Mommy and daddy are going out. Here, play this for a while."

It's true, sadly. It used to be that TV was being used to turn children into drones while the parents ignored them.

To tie this into the thread, I think the lack of parental guidance has lead to such a HUGE demand for certain mods for the game. If you eliminated all the underage kids, would there still be a demand? Of course. And I want to stress that I don't think anyone has a right to stop that, I just think its prevalence is perpetuated by younger, immature gamers. I'm not generalizing, I'm trying to draw parallels between how much I enjoyed "bad girl art" in the 90s to how I feel about it now.

I am technically under age for this game. But the age rating on video games was originally meant to give parents an idea of what the game involved so they could control what their kids were exposed to. My parents trust that I can keep reality separate from a video game and therefore allow me to play this game. I don't think a 12 year old should play some game with more nudity then a porn site and more violence then WWII, however ultimately it should be the parents choice. So long as they can keep it separate from reality there is no issue. It's when reality blurs with fantasy is there trouble.

Absolutely. You need look no further than the recent tragedy in Colorado. I read an interesting psych article making note of how the shooter "identified" with the violent characters in the Batman movies. It stressed not to blame Batman, but to focus on the family for not noticing the red flags earlier that their son was unable to differentiate between fiction and reality.

I don't have sex, so children is pretty much out of the question. That gives me exactly 0 right to tell people how to run their kids, but if I still were one, and I saw that Daedric atrocity (With the pasties, not the actually rather nice looking bow) I'd be horrified. Children aren't raised the way they used to be, and I don't know how bad a thing that is. There's nothing wrong with the human body, but that's not what we're talking about here. Bazooms bigger'n her head, wrapped in Black Metal spikes really should be nitemare fuel for adults, but I just can't tell any more.

What I've seen on Nexus, and Steam, all the Armor/Apparrel mods come in 3 varieties. Moar Skin, ungodly amounts of protection, and ungodly amounts of protection with moar skin. Call it a mod request, but just once, I'd like to see something beautifull, that doesn't look like it was taken from a Dark Funeral album jacket, and has a reasonable realistic AR. Is that too much to ask? I'd even consider it worth the trouble sifting through the mountain of tasteless munchinized mods to find it, but so far, my search has been in vain...

I don't see anything wrong with it, there's a filter on the nexus so you don't have to see it if you don't want to. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree fully. I was helping a friend find an armor mod (I personally only have the PS3 edition) and I would've liked to see an armor mod that looked artistic. I admit sexy is nice but I want something that is artistic, practical, and not overpowered. A little bit of skin and showing off some curves would be nice but I want it also look like it could stop a sword. Is that really too much to ask?

Tasteful, and sexy aren't mutually exclusive. I mean, the Steel Plate body shews plenty of curves, but doesn't leave a big "Shoot me here" window right over the breadbasket of vitals, and dressed around properly, it can be quite fetching. You really shouldn't have to hang the twins out to get someone's attention, and a little mystery can be appealing too. I shouldn't be able to count the number of pubes under a "protective" garment. The Tavern Clothes look trashy, but that's kind of the point, init? Noctournal's Robes look more like something Dibella would bunch up around her hips.

My favorite is the Savior's Hide, which matches the Forsworn, and Stormcloak Officer's accessories nicely, but unfortunately doesn't mesh well with hoods (Including the Dragon Priest's Masks'.) It shows some cleavage, but not your navel, and frames an amulet of Kynareth (also matching) nicely. See, sexy, and tastefull, it can be done! Then again, I usually wear the Mourner's dress, which looks downright Puritan.

I don't really care if people want to make/download skimpy armor. I don't download it personally. I can see some of the skimpy outfits having a place (ex: if you are playing a female enchantress, not a warrior where that bikini will snap off as soon as you swing your sword) What bothers me more is when they make skimpy armor and give it high armor values. I don't know why, but it drives me nuts. I prefer mods that are lore-friendly and somewhat realistic. If you go into battle with an exposed midriff you are going to die quickly.

I don't think these mods are always about "OGAD I CAN SEE BOOBIES" because there are varying degrees of "skimpy", like a short skirt vs a g-string. I've used the HGEC body mod, and the "skimpy armor compilation" mod that goes with it, for the longest time and I'm a gay male. Just like with the armor there are various different body options if you'd prefer no nudity, I personally use the underwear version for example. Oh, and I also use them in combination with a "more feminine running animation" mod and "high-heel walking animation" mod.

Sexual preferences aside, many people find the female body visually appealing by nature and this is accentuated by adding more feminine movements and clothing/equipment. Personally, I'm a huge fan of "femme fatale" characters so to me these types of mods are essential for immersion. Everyone has a different archetype that they think is the most badass; whether it be the guy with huge weapons and brute force, the brilliant Wizard that blows things up, or the seductive femme fatale.

I see my main character as a Thief that uses her looks, charisma, and charms to lower a person's defenses and then make her move. When direct fights start she uses a mixture of necromancy and seduction to build a small army that will do the dirty work for her. Vanilla armor and animations don't fit with my character. Thieves would want very light (less) armor for better mobility and it's hard to visualize seducing people when you've completely covered up your body. Plus, if you have meat-shields to take the hits for you why does it matter if you're wearing non-functional armor?

With all these mods does it mean I simulate sex scenes and fap to my character? No. :|
