Well, this is something that I've been thinking about lately. I want to make a Robin Hood sort of build, who uses mainly archery, one handed and light armour, and basically does good deeds all round (stealing from the rich and giving to the poor).

Obviously I need to pick a human race for this. I was thinking maybe Imperial or Nord, though neither have a bonus in archery at the start. Basically I use archery at a distance whenever I can and try to remain stealthy, and if the enemies become alerted then I get a sword and shield out and start attacking. No magic except shouts, and I only do quests which suit my character.

What do you think? ;)

Don't worry about archer bonus... you will soon go past that obstacle. In level or two. Now when it comes about light armor, maybe it would be interesting to go without armor. I think your character would look better in robe and hood (Robin HOOD!) :D I think it would be best if you choose Imperial because its personality. Main skill should be archery, sneak, blade and illusion.

Well I use a Nord with Light Armor ( Dragon Scale ), I use Sneak & the Bow mainly I only resort to Sword & Shield when it's up close and bloody but I prefer the sneak & bow. I don't use any magic except for Shouts.

Haha, yeah it might be pretty fun. Panthera, if you look at the alleged Robin Hood stories they always depict him as wearing some sort of light armour so that's what I chose.I

I always imagined Robin Hood is some kind of leather armor and maybe a cloak. I think the build sounds interesting. None of the houses really suit a character like that. Hopefully some DLC will add more interesting dwellings that you can own. I think one of those abandoned cabins out in the middle of nowhere would be ideal.

A Robin Hood like character would be kind of cool.

I like the idea of an Imperial (the "find gold easily" bonus would work nicely), using just archery, sneak, one-handed and shouts, no shield though. Most of the movies (that I can remember) he rarely used one.

I would definitely go with light armor (leathers mostly), and maybe find a cowl to use for head gear. At least until you can get into the thieves guild and eventually take out Linwe (I think he's got the perfect set of thiefly armor), but that's a long way into the storylines.

You can "give to the poor" in almost every hold. There's usually at least one begger that you can give a gold piece to and get the "gift of charity" bonus for a little bit.

Probably won't want to join the Dark Brotherhood, although you might want to do the "Destroy the DB" quests.

Being Imperial you'd probably side with the Empire...

You'd have to save the world, so definitely the main quest line.

Then, in general, going around helping everyone out.

Might be an interesting RP Hard Core mode too.

Funny I don't imagine Robin Hood to have armor... Cartoons and movies show him in green tights, some green cloth with cape and hood. But if you choose to wear armor than Nightingale armor is perfect for you. It will even give you less cost in casting illusion spells, boost one hand attack when in close combat. :)

Except that I won't be casting illusion spells, but you do have a point there. Well, I just looked at this Wiki page of him and he seems to wear some kind of hood, and then I guess clothes or light armour. Leather armour would probably do until I get Nightingale.

I would smith up to 100, but only pick smithing perks for the weapons you want. For RP purposes it would be fun to smith him some regular armor up to legendary. Think that fits best for the character. Definately a cowl for the head. If you want to stay as a good character, do the quest for 'Destroy Dark Brotherhood', you get a Cowl that adds 20% damage with bows.

The reason I mention illusion spells is because if I remember correct he would use diversion like starting to fight to make chaos and he would use that so he could sneak past guard or something. You are able to do that with frenzy spell. Than there is invisibility spell... he was good with camouflage, so you couldn't see him in the woods.

I know he didn't use any magic, but we are talking about elder scrolls here, which magic is present. So using illusion would be a compromise and compensation for something he would do as character but you can't do it in game without magic. :)

I play on Xbox so I wouldn't be able to take a screenshot. Panthera, I see what you mean there, but since I'm planning on doing archery, it would be spreading myself too thinly if I were to invest in the illusion tree. I prefer it how it is now.

I've not unlocked the whole stealth tree but I wonder if it's a more true-to-character skillset to Robin Hood and if his penchant for camouflage and trickery could come from that set of perks. I seem to recall one of the high stealth perks as something like 'if you crouch, people have to try and find you again' or something of that nature.

The Shadow Warrior Perk ( 100 Sneak ) has it's advantages that works with the whole Robin Hood thing.

I'm thinking the Riften house, just for the location. Champion of the poor. lol, Although completing the TG quests goes completely against Riften draging them down as a hold. Still makes a nice setting IMO

I think Robin Hood would be a Stormcloak. I have seen a RH movie in a while but wasn't he in quite a bit of conflict with the king?

I also see it appropriate for him to have high speech and be great at persuasion.

How exactly would he give to the poor? There are beggers you can give 1 septim at a time but that's not that effective. I play an Orc and my char on occasion goes to the strongholds and dumps off a bunch of food and extra wepons in a chest. Would you just drop a pile of cash in the street?

I think Robin Hood would stay neutral. Remember, he liked Richard the Lionheart, he only hated Prince John. A very in character move would be going around and rescuing any prisoners the thalmor/imperials take captive. If you drop coins, will people take them?
