In Skyrim, while the Imperials and Stormcloaks continued their civil war, something was happening within the Ancient Nordic Tombs and Ruins. While a few Draugr had always patrolled their homes, something different began to happen. All the Draugr began to rise up, their life restored. Nobody paid any mind to this at first as bandits were the main ones getting killed. The Draugr all-across Skyrim rose to their feet after their long sleep and took up arms once more.

Then, on a day that did not seem unlike any other, the Draugr poured out of their ancient resting places. All over Skyrim, the Draugr began to devastate every area they went to. Realizing that they could not defeat the vast numbers of Draugr, the Legion quickly panicked and returned to Cyrodiil, worried for the safety of their homeland. Those Nords that had been in the Legion stayed behind, but could not get organized into any single force. The disorganized forces tried to fight the Draugr but when the situation lost all hope they returned to their homes, seeking to ensure the survival of their families. The Stormcloaks realized they could not respond to the threat for all of Skyrim and sought to turn Windhelm into an impenetrable fortress. The success of their endeavor is unknown.

No one understands why the Draugr changed behavior so suddenly; why they went from patrolling their ancient crypts to wreaking havoc upon Skyrim. No one has been able to investigate the cause. The next guess is as good as the last; the most highly educated guess as good as the guess of any commoner.

In only one month, Skyrim was in ruins. The holds, with no dominant military presence, could not defend themselves and many citizens were killed by the Draugr. The Draugr, upon defeating all enemies they can see, have been seen to feast upon the bodies those they had killed. The survivors were forced to the countryside, surviving in a variety of ways. Some became hunters, others became looters, and some became bandits. Many more still attempted to altogether hide, to go in a cave and wait out the Apocalypse until foreign aid arrives.

Survivors come in a variety of forms and a variety of backgrounds. Who are you, and what's your story?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this RP, our characters will start out in a small camp at nightfall with Fort Greymoor on the horizon. All of our characters will be grouped together at the start, and the first post should detail how your character came into contact with the group (Please note: The third person to join would have met the group when there were two people; the fifth person when there were four. So on and so forth.) This is to prevent all possible confusion and to allow the RP to begin properly.

(Please keep in mind: No God-Warrior Destroyer of All Living Creatures-type characters. No super-overpowered characters, please. Superheroes and Super-villains are for Comics.)

    Master:

    Expert: Light Armor

    History

Early Life: Dagvar was born in Whiterun to a family of looking to survive. They had jobs that were unimportant and went largely unnoticed. His father worked for Belethor and his mother took whatever jobs were available, not often holding down one job for a large period of time. They made enough to live comfortably enough but they never had luxuries.

Early Teens: Dagvar first started to practice with a sword and shield. His father taught him a few things but his knowledge on the subject was limited. Dagvar would pass some time swinging at the practice dummies behind Jorrvaskr, which the Companions didn't mind because they liked to see even the young fight.

Late Teens: Dagvar got a job working at The Drunken Huntsman. He didn't make much, but he enjoyed the small amount of gold he earned. He started working long hours and got out of touch with practicing his sword and shield skills. To keep up the appearance that everyone who worked at the Drunken Huntsman was a huntsman, he had to wear leather armor while at his job.

Adulthood: After years working at The Drunken Huntsman, Dagvar was basically the one running the whole place. Anoriath still hunted most of the food, but Dagvar was in charge of making sure that the place ran smoothly. He still wore his leather armor, and by now it didn't even feel like it was any more weight than regular clothing. Anoriath had even tried to taught Dagvar to use a bow, but he still did not like to hunt.

When the Draugr were first reported attacking, Dagvar didn't think much of it. He figured, like most others, it'd only be for a short time and the Legion and the Stormcloaks could kill them off. The massive scale of the Draugr attack was a surprise to him. When the Draugr were near Whiterun and it was obvious that destruction was inevitable, Dagvar fled the city. He had no idea where he was going but he knew it was away form Whiterun.

He began to make a living off the wildlife; mainly the deer. He had learned how to use a bow well enough to kill a deer so he was able to survive. Unfortunately, Draugr continued to roam all over the lands so he became paranoid that there was always going to be something about to kill him. He is constantly worried about Draugr being around so he will glance around and glance back. If he hears a sound and can't find it, he goes into a panic.

    Skills

    Expert:Alteration, Alchemy

    Adept:Speech, Restoration

    Gear:Amulet of Arkay, Alchemy Ingredients,

    History

Early Life: Growing up an orphan on the streets of Riften, Thell was saved from the guild and the orphanage by the temple of Mara. With the memory of Father dying at the hands of a mugger, he swore he would never do that to anyone.

Early Teens: As he grew older, Thell became fascinated with the teachings of Arkay and Julianos, and took up training in non-violent magic and tending to the hall of the dead. Finding that he had a natural affinity for the Alteration and Restoraton schools, he began work as a healer for the people of Riften.

Late Teens: Following his studies to become a better healer, he began tending to the wounded on the many battlefields in Cyrodil. Combining alchemy and restoration, he became the inspiration for may storys told in camps on both sides of the great war. He always made sure to stay impartial however, and tend to the wounded and dead of both sides.

Adulthood: Returning from the war to Skyrim, Thell wanders Skyrim, learning to give up materialistic attachments and disconnect from the problems of the mortal plane. After seeing so many horrors during the great war, he wanted nothing to do with the petty problems of governments and violent people.

He protected himself with his magic, but never harmed his various assailants, prefering to paralyze them and walk away. This led to him getting the tattoos on his right hand and chest, a reminder that life was sacred, and that he could use magic to protect himself without harming.

When the Draugr began assaulting Skyrim, Thell came back to the world, putting the Draugr back to rest. He made an exception to his vow of pacifism when dealing with them, reasoning that they were not alive, and could not be harmed, nor healed. He was simply tending to the dead. During his self-made crusade he met, and joined some Cultists of Meridia dedicated to the same cause. He added his left hand tattoo during that time and travelled with them fighting the Draugr until they were worn down and overrun.

Being the only survivor of the group he had travelled with, Thell wandered the ruined land of Skyrim, helping those he could help, and slaying what Draugr he found.

I was interested by the original version of this, but I didn't join because of the huge amount of content that had been written before I even spotted it. I'll probably join this reboot :p I'm off work until the 1st June, so expect a CC soon.

    History

Early Life: Hjor was born and raised in Dawnstar, a miner's son, he spent most of his early years as a carefree child. The family wasn't particularly wealthy, but not poor either. The family Dog, Frud, was a constant companion, as was the only Horse in town.
Early Teens: Hjor began to work in Iron-Breaker mine. His constant work with a pickaxe began to increase his muscle and strength greatly. While exploring to the west of Dawnstar, he stumbled across a Saber Cat cave. The beast almost killed him in an attack, only to be saved by a hunter. This developed his Ailurophobia.
Late Teens: In a Bandit raid on Dawnstar, Hjor's mother and sister are killed. Hjor vows his revenge, and begins training under Rustlief, the smith, and a guard, Gjorfed. As apprentice to Rustlief, he earns more money than he did at the mines, and develops an appreciation for all things metal.
Adulthood: After hunting down the Bandit group and slaying them all with the help of Gjorfed, he finds an Ancient Nord Sword among their loot. After investigating the sword, he discovers it is part of three used in sealing the ancient tomb of Braaldur. He begins his search to find the others. He eventually finds the other two blades, but the location of the tomb is lost to the ages. He begins hunting down other treasure.
When the Draugr attacks began, Hjor was out seeking a lost shield of one of the Jarls of Winterhold. By the time he had found the shield and returned to the city, the Draugr had already ransacked the place. The College turned him away, so he went off into the wilderness to make sure his Father in Dawnstar was alive. He reached Dawnstar the same time the Draugr did, but for his Father, it was too late.
He began to hunt for a way to end the Draugr curse, or at least a reason for its occurance. He found that most Ancient Nord Tombs were nearly impossible to get close to. He spends his days wandering the wilds, looking for evidence and clues.

    BACKSTORY

Childhood: Katie was born in Dawnstar, one of the coldest towns in Tamriel, to a middle-class sailor and his lowborn wife. She had a slightly better-than-average upbringing, and at the age of 8, started running errands for the shopkeep of the town, earning herself a meagre wage to add to her father's much higher income. She decided to use her small income, combined with a small top-up from her father's, to pay for self-defence and sword-fighting lessons. Katie loved them, and spent whatever time she could learning to fight, both hand-to-hand and with a sword in hand.
Early Teens: Katie continued her lessons, and was promoted at the age of 14 to working in the shop, earning slightly more money to spend on lessons.
Late Teens: She became more and more proficient with a blade, and her teacher challenged her to start using blunted swords in lessons, to get a sense of the extra weight steel yielded over wood. Katie struggled at first, until she started to build up some musclemass and could more easily swing a steel blade.
Adulthood: At the age of 23, Katie's teacher challenged her to a duel, as a final lesson, still with blunted swords, but with a very slight edge on the blade to give a sense of fear of being hit. Katie managed to match her teacher blow for blow, taking a glancing blow to the head just before she managed to dodge completely out of the way. She didn't let that deter her, however; she forced forwards, pressing an attack with such speed and ferocity that her teacher could not keep up, and took a fair few hits before yielding.
After graduating from her unofficial sword-fighting school, she wandered the cities of Skyrim searching for mercenary work, until the draugr rose from their barrows less than two years later. She desperately headed back to Dawnstar, unfortunately to find her parents missing and assumedly dead. Since then, she has been wandering, desperately looking for survivors to join up with.

Okay guys, I gotta say, I really like all the characters so far. A lot of variety in character-types and personality.

    OnlythePie, you're in
    EpicVakarian, you're in

Now, I'm NEVER going to tell people what their characters should be. However, as food for thought, we could probably use an archer and a few non-Nords (just suggestions)

I'm thinking 6-8 people is good for start.

    History

Early Life: Solenne is the oldest of 5 children, raised in the mining village of Shor's Stone, just north of Riften. Her father was a miner, and hardly ever home because of his work. When he was home, he was either asleep or drunk, making him a less-than-pleasant person to be around. Solenne's mother was a frail, sickly woman who never left the house and hardly moved from her bed. This left Solenne to shoulder the responsibilities of the family and house from a young age. One of the other villagers in town, hoping to help them in some way, showed her the basic skills of hunting, and provided her with a bow to use. Solenne's bow never left its place around her shoulders after that.

Early Teens: The birth of Solenne's youngest sibling was bittersweet, as her mother died shortly after delivering. By now she had dealt with enough hardship between her father's borderline abusive behavior and providing for her siblings that she was able to hide and suppress her emotions when confronted with the loss of the mother she had never had a meaningful relationship with. The other villagers whispered that perhaps she was traumatized by it, or was simply cold-hearted, but Solenne ignored all of it. She was spending more and more time hunting out in the woods, and only came back because it was required of her.

Late Teens: Eventually the day comes when Solenne decides that she is no longer needed to be the sole provider for her family. With their father rarely ever home, the elder siblings have been finding odd jobs to make money, and have a steady enough income that she can finally leave. Leaving her last load of furs so that they can sell them, she says her goodbyes to her siblings and sets off into the woods, smiling for the first time in years. Solenne spends the following years sharpening her hunting skills further, expertly wielding a bow and sneaking through foliage and shadows as well as any Thieves Guild member could.

Adulthood: Solenne has spent her time alone in the wilds of Skyrim becoming a master hunter, never once venturing back toward her home. The only time she seeks human companionship is when she sells her furs to buy new armor or archery equipment. She was unaware of the Draugr until she ventured near Whiterun and saw the damage.

Thanks Sky :D Might I suggest that you include each player's character name in the cast list too? For instance,
    4. EpicVakarian - Katie Winter
Etc. In my experience I always forget character names for the first few posts, and have to trawl through the OOC threads to find the CCs again :p Putting the names in the cast list might make it a little easier.

And... I've never done this, so I'd like to ask:
Is it weird or undesirable to reuse a character while both RPs are going? I made a CC I'm really interested in trying about a week ago but that RP hasn't started yet. I really want to start writing with this character! Lol
