If a powerful suite of tools to manage, track, and transfer your Pokémon isn't enough to get you to try the Pokémon Bank service for Pokémon X and Y on the Nintendo 3DS, The Pokémon Company is sweetening the deal with a free Celebi.
The special Mythical Time Travel Pokémon Celebi has the Hold Back move, a move that can't be learned through normal gameplay that always leaves the target with at least 1 HP. Very useful for weakening Pokémon for capture. The special Celebi also knows the moves Recover, Heal Bell, and Safeguard.
The Celebi will be available to those who download Pokémon Bank for the 3DS between its Dec. 27 launch date and Sept. 30, 2014. Players will import the Celebi from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon X or Y using the Pokémon Link feature.
Pokémon bank is an online service that trainers a wide number of options to search, filter, and manage stables of up 3,000 Pokemon, including the ability to: store, withdraw and manage Pokemon online; transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of of Pokémon X and Y, including downloadable versions, on one 3DS; and transfer Pokemon from Pokémon Black and Pokémon White 1 and 2 to Pokémon X and Y using an included Pokémon Transporter application.
The Pokémon Bank service will cost $4.99 a year, but a free 30 day trial pass is available for players who download it between Dec. 27 and Jan. 31.
