Private Nightingale Manor

[Loltome]

West of Riften, there is a small township. The locals are nice enough, and the inn's ale is always flowing. But, the Manor is very quiet, sitting atop the hill, overlooking the town. The lord barely comes out, as he is always up in his lab, or out at bars scouting out women or young wizards.

He's been pondering about different worlds. "Are we alone in this place? Are we limited to the Continents and Pangaea of this planet?" Just the other day, he found a beautiful young wizard who happens to be a Conjurer. Could his theory be true?

 

[Patricia]

Myra was tired, but she finally made it to Riften again. She almost stopped in the large town to ask for directions, but the house was easily spotted. She decided to stop by first, and later get a room at the inn. She traveled lightly, so she wasn't being weighed down. She walked up the manor and knocked on the door, and waited for someone to answer.

 

[Loltome]

Murdoc Swiftly opened the door, fast enough to startle someone. He had a pale look about him, but nothing too intense. He invited her inside, and gave her a quick tour of the Facility. Afterward, he offered her a room with "A nice bottle of Cooled Bloodwine".

 

[Patricia]

Myra accepted the wine. She had run out of brandy on the way there, and alcohol was the only way she could calm herself, and she had been very excited about the project. The way to Riften from Falkreath was a bit more perilous than she remembered. She had to kill a few people; a skooma dealer who was trying to get her to buy some, and when she declined, tried to kill her, and a small group of bandits. She had gotten different clothes, too, after her old robes had become worn and torn. She now wore civilian clothes: a blue corset-like thing (I don't remember what they're called... You know the female chef's clothes? Like that, only blue.) over a clean white chemise, and new Master Robes were wadded up in her bigger bag. "Thank you. I have all the soul gems but one grand, the Fire salt was hard to get, but I managed to get a little over four ounces, I have the vampire dust. I've also brushed up on lighting spells, so I think we're ready. Fill me in.", she said to him, counting off ingredients on her fingers.

 

[Loltome]

"Alright. When I built the obelisk the other night, I was visited by something. It seemed like an alloy, but none of which has been seen before. It had a reddish look, and hollow. It seemed to portray a Yellowish Hammer and Sickle. This could be related to my theory." Murdoc drinks a magical elixir, which was really a mix of boiled Nirnroot tea, A clear alchoholic beverage, Rum, Gin, triple sec, and an ultimate healing potion, exclusively named after the homeland of High elves, "Summerset Island Iced Tea" "So we need to place the Grand soul gems around the summoning circle, and in the inner circle, place the other three in a triangle in the inner circle, and mix the fire salts with the vampire dust. After that, now, feel free to decline, We make tea. I made my own alchoholic beverage, so I can mix it for you. I have an extra grand in my laboratory, so when we go there next morning, we should be all set." Murdoc frantically wrings his hands, and takes a sip of his concoction.

 

[Patricia]

"I never really thought we were the only planet... Why would there only be one, when there are so many stars? And galaxies? I agree with your theory, and that does sound like it would be a strong summoning circle, but... Why the alcoholic tea?", Myra asked, intrigued.

 

[Loltome]

"Don't Question my logic!" Murdoc shouts. "Im.. Im sorry, Im just SO exited! Especially with such a.. Pretty assistant! Now, get some rest, we have a big day tommorow!"

 

[Patricia]

Myra blushed. She wasn't used to being complimented by anyone but her parents. In fact, she wasn't used to being around men who weren't part of her family. She picked her bags back up, and instinctively made sure she had everything with her. Large bag... Check. Four belt satchels... check. Money... Money... "Oh no.", she realized, horrified. All of her money was gone. Every last Septim. "Erm... I think I've been pick pocketed! My money is gone... Oh. Great, now I can't get a room at the Inn. Keerava is kind, but not that kind!", Myra said, more frustrated than she had ever been.

 

[Loltome]

"Don't Fret, You can stay here! I've had alot of room since... Nevermind. Let me show you to your room!" Murdoc gestured toward a corridor, and escorts her to her room. "This is your room, just next to my own. Feel Free to ask about anything."

 

[Patricia]

"Thank you so much... I'd thought I'd put an Alarm charm on my coin purse, but they must've fought through the sparks... It's probably worth the third degree burns to have that much money. Well, I should probably go to bed now. I haven't slept in two days. I'll either sleep now, or pass out later. Thank you again.", Myra said sincerely. She felt bad about imposing, but what other choice did she have?

 

[Loltome]

"I Insist. We- I need all the help I could get."

 

[Patricia]

She smiled. "And you couldn't have found better help in Conjuring anywhere!", Myra beamed. No sooner had she finished her sentence, she passed out.

 

[Loltome]

As Murdoc walks away from his young assistant's room, His long smile soon turned to a frown, as he was alone again. He made his way up to his tower lab, and Sits by an amazingly large fire place. He sits on the large red chair, and drinks a Summerset isle Iced tea.

 

[Patricia]

Myra woke up with a start. Where was she? Why was she here? This room is far better than the ones at the inn! And remembered where she was. She rubbed her eyes, and walked over to window to see what time it was. About midnight. She realized she'd fallen asleep in her day clothes. Easy fix, all she had to do was take of the corset-like thingy. She took her hair out of her ponytail and shook it. It was longer than it looked in a ponytail. She straightened out the flowing chemise, and was about to crawl under the covers of the guest bed, when she heard an odd noise from outside her door. She cautiously walked to the door and opened it. She went in to the hallway and saw the shadow of a woman on the other side of the wall! "Excuse me...", she asked the shadow. She heard a kindly laugh of an older woman the shadow started running. She followed it up many levels and flights of stairs until she finds herself in a tower. She has the shadow cornered now. She sees the shadow go through a door, and she swings it open in triumph, only to be mortified. "Oh. I'm sorry.... By chance, have you seen a woman run through here? I could only see her shadow, but she was older, about in her mid-thirties. I could tell by her laugh and... Of course you didn't. Do you know what's going on? Because I don't. This is really creepy.", Myra asked, clearly freaking out.

 

[Loltome]

Sounds a bit odd, Thought Murdoc... Poltergeist maybe? "Erm.. No. Maybe you're just a bit shocked.. Uh, Have a drink. Its the mixture I mentioned earlier, minus the Vampire dust and Fire Salts. This is my Laboratory, by the way." Murdoc pours her a nice glass, but has an odd look of fear for his people.

(What do you want to do with this? Ghosts?)

 

[Patricia]

(I should really stop getting on here after I take my ambien... Sure. Let's go with... Evil ghosts, trying to stop the project. Or good ghosts, trying to stop the project, if you're planning for it to go awry or bring something bad out. Either way, the ghost fails.) Myra gladly downed the drink, but she was still shaking and her legs were numb from the adrenaline. "It's a nice laboratory. Clean. And, uh...", Myra stopped talking. She gave the glass back, and said she'd be back in a moment. She ran back to her room. After gathering a few items from her satchels, she brought them back to the lab. She held up something that looked like a crystal. "This, is called a teller. You have to use a Tellerboard with it, but it detects presences without the board. If I keep a finger on this like node right here, and point it towards... well, anything, it'll glow if there's a ghost or something. I have the board, but I want to make sure I wasn't just hallucinating first. Would you mind if I did this?", Myra said in a more busy tone. (Okay, since I've been dictating the story((Sorry about that)), you decide what the ghost is, who it is, what it's doing, etc.)

 

[Patricia]

Myra waited for a reply.

 

[Loltome]

(Sorry, Im a bit busy now, so that I must now be unavailable 5 A.M - 7-8 P.M Pacific time. SORRY. If I can manage to get an unblocked connection, then I will get back as soon as I can.) "Fine by me, as long as you don't up and leave.. Sorry, I'm just a bit nervous, as my last assistant left without a trace. The bastard took nearly all my research notes. I'd really hate to loose someone like you." Murdoc shies away as he speaks, pretending to be busy with the obelisk. (I'd say that the ghost could be the ghost of the assistant, trying to warn us about dangers, but his strong spirit ((From wizardry)) has lead him to be a fairly strong spirit.)

 

[Patricia]

"Great!", she said chipperly, obviously not understanding his flattery. She put the tip of her finger on the nodule and starting going around the room, pointing it at various objects and places.

 

[Loltome]

"While you get that done, I will prepare the obelisk..." Murdoc places the soul gems into the circle, and mixes the salts and powders into the tea. He hands a small glass of it to Myra, and take a swig himself.
