My Skyrim Dragon Priest Mask Project

Hi everyone I do prop making. This mask originally started as a papercraft file obtained from Hugh Holder of the 405th Infantry Division Forums. This form of papercraft is also known as pepakura, which I run a site for at http://pepakuraindex.weebly.com , the mask took 2 hours to assemble. Then it took another 6 hours to finish and detail the mask. Once this was done, I used A25 Silicone Rubber, and made a mold and used fiberglass resin and fiberglass mat to make what's known as the mothermold for the mask. (which I cut open my hand on a sharp piece of fiberglass taking the master and mold out of the fiberglass mothermold). The next step will be to pour urathane resin (casting plastic) into the mold to make castings which will be on eBay eventually. Thanks for looking and feel free to comment.

And now for the final reveal. I added aluminum cold cast powder (which I got a good bit of on my hands) to the resin and did 2 passes in the mold (meaning mixed up 2 batches of resin so it would be stronger) and this is the reveal. When the mask is scrubbed with sandpaper or wire mesh it will look like aluminum metal. In just a few minutes this first cast will be tossed up on eBay.
For those intrested I've been making props now for about 10 years. I can't remember what my first costume was, but now to date I have worked on, made or helped with over 100 costumes and props. As for pepakura files I've worked on or created, I lost count how many of those I've made everything from Halo to Warhammer and this is my first Elder Scrolls item that I've worked on, next up The Dragonborn Helmet.

It's brighter than this. I think it's because of my camera flash that's making it darker or something.

Ok, I pulled a flawed casting from the mold this morning, it just has two air bubbles on the forehead detail. Pretty easy to fix. If anyone wants it just get in touch with me and it's your's free.

that's pretty cool, the middle image in the OP and the black one in the second picture of the OP look really good.

The funny thing that came to mind was that with a little bit of padding and strap work, these could make cool hokey masks

I want to see an album of all Skyrim artifacts people have made. I have seen the necklace, the candle and now this mask. Anyone game for creating that collection? TBN

Course I have all the 3D Models from the game, so I should say I have everything.
