No, they dont get shops, they sell from house

Juat as Mookie said, they sell from whatever house you have them at, but every partner "opens" a shop and makes money and you get I believe 100 gold a day.

If you marry a merchant, then I believe they continue selling what they used to specialise in. If you marry a nobody, then they will run a general store from home (I'm guessing they do Ebay).
