    Werewolf Queen of Skyrim
(Ask to join on the OOC thread! Not on this thread!)

An era has passed since the bloody civil war that once ravaged Skyrim ended. Since then, the Deadric Lords have been planning. Conspiring in secret to extend their reach unto to mortal plane and claim dominion over man and mer alike. Using their powers to corrupt and indoctrinate, leaders have been swayed, wars established, and cities turned to ash.

Within the first hundred years, armies reached epic proportions until they burst from the gates of Oblivion and swarmed over the land. Deadra of all kinds were met by ferocious resistance, but with every soldier that fell in battle and was claimed by Deadra, two were lost. The first, the soldier that fell. The second, the soldier unable to kill the man once fighting by their side. Brothers were turned against brothers. Fathers upon their children. The lines of friend and foe became one in the same, destroying the livings' will to fight. Slowly, Deadric Lords claimed Dominion over holds and enforced those unfortunate enough to remain alive under strict laws that require the utmost devotion to the Lord. If you step out of line, you are beaten, tortured, or converted into one of their twisted minions.

The true glory of the sun has been so long forgotten that it has passed to myth. Instead, it has been substituted with the twisted form caused by a bloodcursed arrow. It hardly allows crops to grow, and many have spent their entire lives without so much as a fleeting glimpse of the warm ball of life.

Centuries have passed, and the Divines cannot directly influence the mortal plane any longer. Instead, they imbue their light and power to souls destined for greatness, creating legions of Divine Champions. However, this power is no mere blessing. Those gifted by the Divines are able to resist the binding of their soul and mind to a Deadric Lord. They are blessed in spirit and cannot be swayed by darkness, instead housing the power to banish it, along with the Lord from which it has sprouted.

Divine Champions are born with the mark of one of the Nine Divines on some place on their body. During comabt with Deadra, that sign will glow with the purifying light of the Divines, strengthening the Champion. When fighting a Lord, the Champion's sign and eyes will glow brightly, and if the Champion succeeds in defeating the Lord, they must call upon each of the Nine through ancient prayer in the Dragons' tongue. When done properly, a blinding column of light will drop from the heavens and envelope the Lord, banishing them and destroying their hold over the mortal plane.

A single legion of a Champions was supposed to bring peace and order to Tamriel, but the Deadric Lords proved far more clever and defeated these Champions in battle. In the aftermath, they learned of a Champion's "Mark" and have dispatched squads to find and murder Champions, regardless of their age. Thousands upon thousands of Champions have been cut down, a shocking majority of them being no older than an infant. Being born with the "Mark" of a Champion has become a central fear in the ravaged societies, and the fear has driven people to seek out Champions to try and win a Lord's favor. Many have taken to calling a Champion a "godcurse."

Those lucky enough to survive infancy with a "Mark" are unwillingly shunned from society for their protection, attempting to hide their true identity. Or, they are constantly under attack and on the run, fighting for survival day in and day out. Divine Champions are so poorly organized that it has become near impossible to form a Legion because of the fear that you (The Champion) will be discovered, or attacked and brought down.

Will you heed the call and save Tamriel?

Ungh, just my luck Kivuli grumbles, hiding behind a building in Morthal. Vampire attack had to happen, and the Master of whatever little coven during the attack decided to tag along. His thralls were easy to take out as thralls always were, but the Masters always gave her a bit of trouble. Decked in her combat gear and the Morokai mask, and her beloved Black Lightning in hand, she's found herself a little unprepared. Until an idea sprang to mind. She casts Dread Zombie on two of the dead thralls to distract the master so she could get in a cheap death shot. Unbeknownst to her not far outside the town was a caravan being jumped by Daedric forces searching for Champions, and thus people that can mistake her as an enemy necromancer. and give her more crap to deal with on top of this nonsense.

Just another day in her life. siiiiiiiiiiigh

Hircine patiently watches the incoming attack on the caravan from afar, smirking. Any 'champions' would be slain yet again by his pack. Those silly Aedra think they can stop him and his ethereal brothers...no mortal stood a chance against a Daedra, Aedra-enhanced or not. Time to reinforce that knowledge upon the mortal populace, no?

In the back of a wagon, stowed away among various blanket shipments and other bedding for the caravan and customers lay a man, and he was not alone. Smutticus groaned as he heard strange sounds coming from outside the canvas walls of the wagon. At least he was sure he was hearing something. He sits up and groans, his head throbbing from the sheer volume of drinking he did last night. Smutticus sighed and grabs his sword and starts putting on his armor. Damn, he thinks to himself. I should have brought a helmet...

The sounds of violence were escalating, and it led the Imperial to wonder what exactly could this caravan have done to piss off… He listens and he hears the trademark unearthly echo of Dremoras. That was not good, Smutticus thought as he snapped on his gauntlets. He pokes a hole on the canvas with his finger covered in fire magic. Trying to peak out and get a better read on what was going on out there. And all he saw was fire and panic.

“And here I thought it was going to be a nice easy ride through Morthal…”

Rhyfalim snapped awake at the sound of the dremora's calls, and leapt to his feet in an instant. But as the wagon jolted from a rock beneath the wheels, his legs buckled and he fell to his knees. Raising his head, Rhyf saw the wagon ahead of his own come under siege. Daedric forces swarmed it, launching themselves atop the rickety wooden cart.

Damn, he thought to himself, as he snatched up his heavy blade, I was just getting to the good part, too.

Grabbing at the flapping canvas, Rhyf tore away at the threadbare covering and batted at the flames that had begun to lick up from arrows protruding out of his wagon's side. A handful of caravaneers, a man and his wife and children, fled into the brush to the side of the road - chased after by a few of the daedric monstrosities. Fresh screams quickly arose from where they'd disappeared, coupled with the triumphant roars of the dremora, that only accentuated the abrupt silencing of the screams.

Leaping to the ground, Rhyfalim raised his huge scimitar above his head, and smashed it into the wagon, freeing the terrified horses from their wooden charge. As the pair of bays galloped off, Rhyf turned back to the fight and found himself face to face with the trio of dremora returning from their fresh kills.

"Champion..." the three purred, their voices echoing each other's like a panther's roar, before the leader spoke up, "We came to hunt others - but your head will make a fine trophy!" With a vicious grin, the three split apart, encircling Rhyfalim with their shields and blades readied.

Hefting his sword, Rhyf spun about and slammed the flat of the blade on the closest dremora, the hardened steel singing a horrid tune as it collided with the cretin's raised shield. A second dremora took the opportunity to strike, swinging its spiked mace at Rhyf's head. Anticipating this, Rhyf kicked out, his foot cracking into the dremora's chest and cracking bone. Winded, it fell back, clutching its chest.

"Smutt!" Rhyf cried, "Get your drunken ass out here! I can't take all the glory for myself!"

Hircine just chuckles in amusement at the scene. Yet another champion found and will be slain. And he'd finally beat Molag-Bal's bodycount too! Today was just win win win for this Daedric Lord.

One wolfish dremora breaks from the pack attacking Smutt's wagon and decides to help his more bipedal brethren take down Rhyf. He figured his pack had the drunken one handled on their own. He makes to pounce on Rhyf from behind, teeth bared and dripping poison.

Throwing the defensive dremora aside, Rhyf turned to the other two - but stopped. A tang wormed its way into his nostrils, a familiar scent that nothing could mask. Rhyf rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck as his body began to tense.

He had just enough time to toss his blade aside before the change overtook him. Coarse, thick black hair sprouted from all over his body; his rough black braids erupted into a mane of wild fur, fingers and toes fused into hard hooves, and his jaw exploded in pain as his lower canines enlarged to become tusks.

His body multiplied in size, thrice the size of his former self, and his skin thickened to become as hard as steel. The dremora, though familiar with their Lord's creations, were caught off guard by his rapid transformation. They didn't have time to react before Rhyf whipped around and kicked two with his hind legs. A satisfying crunch could be heard, and he ignored the third one.

Looking dead in the eye of one of Hircine's more personal minions, Rhyf felt the blood rush to his ears, blotting out all sound as a blood rage flooded his mind. Roaring, he charged the werewolfkin, aiming for its stomach.

The unruly scream of beaten metal rang through the air, followed by pained grunts and a sickening snap. A young Khajiit poked his head above the rough rock ledge he walked near. His features completely obscured by a black mask, save for a single, icy blue eye.

Though half-blind, the Khajiit locked his vision onto a blurred form moving across an improvised battlefield below. A roughly wolf-shaped creature lunged at a hulking figure with a massive sword, it's bearer unaware of the danger.

Drayce readied and drew his blackened bow in a heartbeat, firing a round mere nanoseconds later. Just as the arrow left the bow, another creature joined the mix. Some kind of boar...

Damn it, my round's too close! It'll alert the boar!

If Drayce could've redirected the arrow, he would have, but it's gleaming tip was already hurtling towards the were-creatures.

If the boar moved too quickly, the arrow would pierce his ribcage. If not, it would surely catch the wolf square in the throat. Drayce cursed again as his black robes fluttered in the breeze.

The wolfish one snarls in reply and grabs Rhyf by the tusks and heaves, trying to use the boar in question as a meat shield against the arrow whisking through the air at 'im.

Two members of his pack leave Smutt's caravan, having heard the twang of a bow's string nearby. The two decide to chase down the sound's source, swift as the wind itself. Nobody got away with attacking one of their own.

Rhyf reared up as the daedric wolf grasped his tusks. Tossing his head skyward, the creature left the ground momentarily, before Rhyfalim's momentum smashed it to the ground behind him. An arrow whistled past, burying itself in the ground with a soft thunk.

The daedra's body crashed into the dirt, half a second before Rhyf's own head pounded its body into the dust. Bones snapped under the force, and it screeched in his ear before he buried his tusks into its chest - silencing its cries.

A rustle caught his attention then, and the pounding of clawed feet sounded through the brush. Rolling to his feet again, Rhyf charged headfirst into the bushes, straight for the sound of the other creatures.

One of the targeted wolfkin lets out a haunting howl, calling for his brethren to back him up. It is almost echoey, voice-of-the-legions style, with a hint of...perhaps Argonian hiss? in there. Either way, it can be heard for miles, and from those miles wolfkin come to aid their packmate in combat. You don't have much time until they pour in...

The wolfkin's packmate takes the chance to cannon right into Rhyf and knock him away from his brother at full power. They already lost one, and he wasn't about to loose another.

Having a chance to regain his footing, the attacked wolfkin charges in for another hit right behind his packmate. Again and again they bodyslammed the boarkin in hit-and-run style assaults, sure to keep moving to make it harder for this violent pig to get a clean shot.

Steel swords are bows could do nothing to but tickle Rhyfalim's skin, but these wolfkin weren't using steel. The magical properties of their claws found purchase in his hide, digging in and slowly causing him to bleed. With an angry roar, he timed the strikes between the two. Just as one was about to strike, he shifted his balance and caused it to miss, its claws losing purchase in its confusion. The second, seeing the change too late, could avoid Rhyfalim's tusk as he swung his head at it.

His right tusk fund its way into the creature's arm, tearing the tendons and rendering its left arm useless. He shook his head violently, and its body tumbled away from him in a heap.

The uninjured one darts to his brother, snatching him by the scruff and making to run away with him. Fighting this wild fiend was pointless at this point, and he didn't want to loose his life just yet.

At that point in time five wolfkin rain on Rhyf, teeth and claws bared.

Drayce crouched in the shadows, utterly confused at the scene ahead of him. The boar was laying waste to a pair of Werewolves without so much as a scratch or two, all while another man lingered around a downed wagon.

Not to mention, Drayce's presence only added to the mix. What the hell am I doing? This is clearly not my problem, yet I involve myself without so much as a second thought?

Drayce turned to leave, but something seemed to hold him in place. With a soft grumble, he turned back to the boar, now swarming with werewolves. Powerful as he may be, he was outnumbered.

Drayce shook his head and sent forth a volley of arrows after the wolves, aiming carefully to match their speeds.

They stopped once Rhyf got a fair distance away, then turn on Drayce once the arrows nail quite a few of them. The pack splits up to surround the Khajiit in question before combo-attacking him.

Smutticus sat up and left the wagon, glad to find that his attacks had taken time to break off after other foes. He so dearly wished the caravan guard had not called his name out. Seeing as they were obviously wanted, judging by the attack group of… Smutticus walks over to the dead attacker and rolls it over. “Hircine… Oh wonderful…”

Smutticus ran off towards the sound were he thought he heard a bowstring being tugged. His head was pounding though, who is to say it wasn’t something more annoying like a child’s toy. The strange man sees five wolfish creature attacking a lone archer. Smutticus narrowed his eyes and began to wiggle his fingers. His magicka became to channel through his muscles in his forearms, and he formed a ball of crackling lightning about the size of a grape. With a smirk He aligns his hands one on top of the other, holding the ball in place and flicks it. The chain lighting ripping through the assailants. That was the desired effect. Instead it definitely shocked them, singed some fur, but didn’t seem to utterly decimate them like he had hoped.

“Maybe I should try an apple sized charge next time…”

Drayce grinned as his arrows found their marks, slamming into werewolf after werewolf. He was given but a moment to react as the pack lost interest in the boar and turned to him. Surrounding him in a wall of furry flesh.

Damn, Drayce thought as the wolves lunged at him. He furiously dodged their swipes, but he just wasn't fast enough. The wolves battered him from every angle, finding purchase multiple times and tossing him about. Fear rocketed through the Khajiit's veins as he struggled through the lines. In one last push, Drayce's dwarfed frame slips through the wolf barrier.

Drayce hadn't taken a single step past the wolves before a meteor struck his back. The hit sent waves of pain through Drayce's body as it launched him through the air. His body connected heavily with the Earth, knocking the wind out of him. Drayce tumbled uncontrollably along the ground before slamming into the overturned wagon.

Drayce lay on the ground, gasping for air, arrows scattered, and teetering on the edge of consciousness, hardly aware of a dislocated shoulder and four cracked ribs.
