Is there anyway to see where the marker is after it says "Map Updated"?

I just met up with a mercenary and I paid him to tell me where he was going to check out. However I can't seem to find the location, is there any way to figure this out?

I usually go into the journal and deactivate all other quests except the one that just updated, then look for the destination marker on the map.

Not unless it's a quest too. If your map was just simply updated, then you won't be able to find the location of where the map marker has actually been added. Kind of silly, I know.
