Is there a toolbar?

Hi All,
I've just started Skyrim and I need help. I basically have my main weapon I use. I can fire that fine and have completed quests, still, I find using anything else a chore. Is there a toolbar or something where I can easily use maybe magic or a shout, or change weapons? Now to use anything I have to go to items or magic select it and use it once I'm back to the action. In pretty much every other RPG I've played there's a shortcut bar on the main screen. I bet its somewhere obvious on Skyrim and I'm missing it. Can anyone help?

i think the PC version has hotkeys you can set.
i play on the xbox so im not sure

Xbox has something similar, you just Press B, select weapons then press Y to make whichever one you want a favorite. Exit back to the game play & press up or down on the D Pad. I have my bow, sword, my favorite dragon shouts & what arrows I want to use.

So for PC users there has to be something similar.

Yeah, there is something. It's even better
PC has hot/quick keys. You can assign a weapon, armor, potion whatever you want to a key, like 1-9 or so.
Not sure how you do that, checking the control settings should help you out

Ok thanks guys. Yes, there is a system of cavorting. So, for example I've set bow as a favourite, and then a dagger. But I don't know how to swap between them. Hope someone who uses PC can help. Hotkeys would be wonderful if I could find how to set them up.

Not sure who else uses the PC but I know Finalchrono does, he is a die hard PC user. He would a solution & if doesn't then I will be surprised...lol

Wait, I think I have the best there is. You have to set things as favourites, then press q to call up a list. Thanks.

OKay, you're on a PC. Here you go:
go into your item menu.
select item you want.
press "f" to make a favorite
exit menus
press "q" for quick menu - all your favorite items AND spells will be here.
highlight the item you want and press the number 1 thorugh 8 to set as hot key.
- this will put the hot key number next to the item
exit the quick menu.
Press hot key 1 through 8 for the favorite item/spell you wish to equip.

Done!
