Is Aranea Ienith (Azura worshipper) a decent follower?

I'd have Jenassa as a follower for a while now, and think that shes pretty decent--we got married--whatevs.
Just beat the Mayln Varen out of Azura's Star. Since I'm a sucker for Dark Elven ladies, and Aranea gave me that sob storry about how lonely she would be now without Azura, so I dismissed Jenassa and got Aranea Ientih to become my minion.
I haven't really gotten a chance to test her out in battle yet.
Does anybody know from experience as to whether or not she is a worthy follower (better than Jenassa)?

Any input greatly appreciated!

She's really really good, she tends to summon those atranoch's though and if you hit them they will hit you back. I love Lenith because sometimes she would go "WHAT THE...!" just randomly out of nowhere. Especially when you fast travel.

Lenith is the Jarl of Whiterun's assistant, right? I was talking about 'Aranea Ienith', the dark elf mage that you talk to doing the Azura's Star quest. We thinking of the same person?

Either way, thanks for the advice, we just slaughtered some mammoth camps--so Aranea seems pretty BA.

Bunny got the wrong name but right fighting abilities. Aranea is really good. boost her up with some armor that fortify destruction and she kicks butt. She's like having two extra people because her first attack is to pop atronachs. The down side to that is if you're in a small hallway or just inside a door, they end up right in front of you.

Oh yes I keep forgetting my nickname for her is Lenith...or Lenny...because she makes me mad whenever her atronachs attack me...and I go "classic lenny". Lol, yes it is the same person, I felt sorry for her because Azura ditched her so i dragged her along.

shes not bad, she cant equip much armor, being a mage and all. depends on your character build, if your a straight up barbarian then she might supplement ranged attacks for you, if you're a mage build, i'd stick to a warrior or sellsword, Vorstag is my fav :) he picks stuff up really well and wears and uses all sorts of weapons and armor, plus hes a nice guy!

Serana is already wearing Vampire armor. Followers have rules for priority in equipping armor and they will wear what is best for them given their armor skill. I don't have Dawnguard so I can't console her stats but if she has strong Light Armor Skill it's unlikely she will ever elect to wear any heavy armor you give her unless it's been tempered to an extreme level of bonus points. Followers are also glitchy when it comes to equipping armor identical to theirs but improved with Smithing. They often wont equip it and they will also often change back to their default armor even if they do equip it.

I don't know with absolute certainty if a follower will equip armor if they have no armor skill at all but they should given that armor is still superior to no armor at all. Also every follower I can think of has armor skill in either light, heavy or both even if it is extremely low.

I got 99 problems but a Deadra ain't one.
Aranea Ienith; i know someone who is about to get some major destruction enchanted glass armour :)

Followers don't benefit from Fotify skill enchantments.

Thats okay, she's still getting it... But mainly so i can hand her some armour for all that magic she brings to my warriors based builds. Oh and she will look cute in it, the enchanted bit is just cause i like doing silly things like that for the RP fun of it. ;)

yeah im aware of all that, ive had so many instances when my follower wouldnt equip the better piece of armor or weapon (heard a rumor that the option to choose followers equipment will come in an update?). i just wish i could have serana in heavy armor, she would make a badass battle-mage!

i usually throw fortify healing rate enchantments on the rest of their gear to keep them in the fight longer, and one handed/two handed/marksman on hands and feet depending on the follower (im sure the later of that is pretty obvious)

Those don't work on followers either. :p

The following are the only enchantments that will work on followers:

Fortify Health
Fortify Heavy Armor
Fortify Light Armor
Fortify Magicka
Fortify Stamina
Fortify Unarmed Damage
Muffle
Resist Fire
Resist Frost
Resist Magic
Resist Poison
Resist Shock
Water Breathing

I love Aranea Ienith, when she told me *spoilers* that she was going to be alone, my little heart ached and we been adventuring across Skyrim with Lydia ever since, but to your question yeah she's a decent follower I'd say. :p
