The Legate in Morthal says something about it too. That they were having problems with recruitment from Cyrodiil so they had to recruit locally.

By the way, is it just me or have I just read this for the tenth time? Stormy skulls are too thick to pierce!

All Legate's mention that the Empire is spread thin these days. The Legions are stationed along the Aldmeri Dominion's border preparing for the resume of war, Civil War in Skyrim is a distraction caused by the Thalmor to divert men and resources and keep the Empire busy. It is why they provide indirect aid to the Stormcloaks and were also in Helgan trying to prevent Ulfric's death. Imperial victory will put the Empire in a stronger position, Stormcloak victory they want to avoid, but the way they word it;

The incident at Helgen is an example where an exception had to be made - obviously Ulfric's death would have dramatically increased the chance of an Imperial victory and thus harmed our overall position in Skyrim. (NOTE: The coincidental intervention of the dragon at Helgen is still under scrutiny. The obvious conclusion is that whoever is behind the dragons also has an interest in the continuation of the war, but we should not assume therefore that their goals align with our own.) A Stormcloak victory is also to be avoided, however, so even indirect aid to the Stormcloaks must be carefully managed.

They don't want either side to win the Civil War because it will harm their plans, though Stormcloaks aren't much of a threat to them, chances are they are far more concerned with the mass of Legions sitting on their border, than a group of Nords that can't reach them, chances are Ulfric will never lead an attack on the Dominion, he'll probably spend the rest of his life within Skyrim. Skyrim isolated and alone will take even longer to recover than with Imperial victory. Stormcloaks will be ready for a war, but in probably like fifty or even a hundred years, bit of an amusing concept for those who complained the Empire is taking too long to fight the Dominion, so their solution is to wait even longer.

I find it strange you claim to support Nordic traditions, yet you bash real Nordic Gods and ancient Nordic groups.

You dislike just about everything to do with the Nords and fight to defend what the Imperials have brought. You're going to love Skyrim after Stormcloak victory when all Imperial influence is removed and you're stuck in a land full of everything you dislike and get to sit around waiting for like like fifty or a hundred years as Skyrim rebuilds for a war that probably would be over by the time they're ready.

"We finally did it! Rebuilt Skyrim and our army is ready, time to go on the offensive... What do you mean the war with the Thalmor is over?"

When it comes to religion, DrunkenMage, I have a strong opinion of it; both in real life and in these RP fantasy worlds. No I wasn't bashing the Nordic gods and ancient Nordic groups. I was simply making an observation to what I've witnessed with my own set of eyes throughout the game.

Kyne did not punish Tiber Septim for using the voice for his own personal use, unless if she personally came down from the heaven and hired a High Rock nightblade to attempt to kill him by slitting his throat thus no longer able to use the voice.

Kyne did not punish the founding father of the Greybeards for using the tongue during war. Not everyone wins wars and it doesn't mean that she was punishing him.

I can tolerate religion... to a point.

These Gods are real in this fantasy world. Does that make their actions any less a mystery? Does a God have to come down and slap you for it to be a sign?

Two things, yes I thought the ending of ROTJ was crap. Just want to establish that for the record. Second, in reply to your images here is a picture of Ulfric and Galmar walking side by side.

I understand and well-aware of it too. However do you honestly believe that these gods care for what goes on in mortal affairs? Even you said that ANYONE can enter the gates of Sovngarde... A child molester or a savage murderers can enter Sovngarde for as long as they died in battle, and not tainted with any kind of Daedric influences.

I don't like World War 2 references in the Imperial/Stormcloak debate. I find it highly disrespectful towards the victims and their families.

Even though I joined the Imperials I would never compare Ulfric to Hitler. I don't think any unreal videogame character can be compared to a mass murderer like him.

That is how Sovngarde is, but Sovngarde is but one of probably an infinite realms of Aetherius.

Ok what does Hitler have to do with Ulfric and Galmar? I seem to be missing the humor in this. Ulfric and Galmar do not have a death camp. They do not purposely murdered millions of people because of who they are.

Besides, Ulfric's boyfriend is dressed like a bear. Hitler didn't have that.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I didn't take the Hitler image to mean a direct comparison to him. I thought it was deliberately sarcastic/ironic, much like the Star Wars images. The posters of the pictures can and should correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I took from it. I can appreciate the humor in it in that way.

Haha, maybe I'm overreacting. But in the Netherlands the second World War is a very very big thing. I visited death camps and concentration camps before. It devastated me. I can't express in words what it did to me.. Therefor I don't really like comparing Ulfric to Hitler. It's like people forgot how terrible the holocaust was. I think the whole Stormcloak/Imperial thing doesn't even come close to that..

..But maybe that's just my malfunction. :)
