After starting a new game and playing for about 6 hours, I mined my first ore vein. Instead of receiving random gems along with the ore, I am receiving 2 firewood along with each piece of ore. Prior to mining ore, I had Belrand following me and I did instruct him to chop some wood in Whiterun before I went to Markarth (where I started mining and discovered the glitch). I do not want to mine manually and that is the only fix I have found for this online. Hence, I will be erasing this game and starting over again. But I was wondering if anyone knows what caused this glitch so I can be sure to avoid it in the future. And btw, I'm playing vanilla Skyrim on the Switch so it's definitely something in the base game and not caused by a mod.
