Well, Hearthfire has almost been out for 1 month now, and I have found several noticeable bugs in the game. Now, I don't know if these bugs have been found by anyone else already, these are the bugs that I, personally, have encountered, yet have no idea how to fix.

For starters, there's the weapon plaques and display cases. The display cases seem to have only one use at the moment: displaying the cases. There's no way to place any sort of sword or dagger in any of the display cases in any of the three new homes in Falkreath, Hjaalmarch, and The Pale. You can open and close them, but there isn't any option to place a weapon in them. Now for the plaques. I recently placed several swords and shield on the weapon plaques in the armory I built at Heiljarchen Hall (the home in The Pale). However, once I removed the weapons from the plaque, the plaque became unuseable. There wasn't any way to place another weapon the rack, leaving me with no choice but to leave the weapons on the rack. Also, the mannequins in the armory, for me, didn't always display the helmet I placed on them. So far, this happened with the Ancient Nord Helmet, yet other helmets seem to work fine. Oh, and the wall sconces don't always give off the light that they're supposed to.

Now, on to the outside. At Heiljarchen Hall, O built the Armory, Storage Room, and Enchanter's Tower (and somewhat regret buying the storage room cause you can store as much junk as you want in any other containers around the house, or in all of the houses combined, therefore making the storage room's only decent purpose to be the porch). However, after building the storage room then the armory, I noticed that there was still a fence blocking the two porches, and the door on the storage room patio meshed into the wall, making it somewhat difficult to open. Also, sometimes, the clay deposits I've found don't always let you mine them despite the fact that I had a pickaxe in my inventory. However, this only happened to me with a clay deposit near Whiterun, it's never happened with the ones near any of the homes.

This part isn't really a glitch as much of a complaint. Did they really have to put Lakeview Manor so close to an alter with a cpnstantly respawning conjurer? I adopted Sofie from Windhelm, and she was attacked by this conjurer and a Flame Atronach he summoned. Anybody else have problems with this Daedra-summoning nuisance after adopting kids? Oh, and I don't know if Hearthfire caused this, but sometimes in Sunderstone Gorge, if I jump off that ledge with the bridge, I fall right through the floor into an abyss and end up back at the entrance.

So there's all the bugs that I've discovered ao far, though I don't know if anyone else discovered any of these first. If they did, then they get the credit for finding them first? Me? I don't care about who found them first. I would just like to know if anyone else has encountered any of these problems or has a solution.

The issue with the weapon racks not working after removing a weapon will be corrected if you exit and enter the house again but yes that is annoying just like when you must to the same thing when ore veins in mines are inaccessable.

The new display cases are just like the ones in Hjerim and the College of Winterhold where you must drop then physically pick up the object and place it inside the case. This allows you to display objects other than just weapons.
The bug is that the cases won`t retain certain objects and weapons while it allows others.
For instance , if I put the Ancient Traveler`s Skull and a Glenmoril Witch Head in a case and leave , upon my return the head will be on the floor.
Cases likewise eject the Ebony Blade and my Blade of the Pale(ebony greatsword) but will hold Bolar`s Oath Blade , etc.

i had same experience with Ancient Nord Helmet on mannikin in Proudspire Manor so that prob not unique to Hearthfire
Mannikins will occasionally appear in incorrect position or without armor displayed (like at Honeyside for me) but exit/enter also fixes

the wall thing with the storage room sounds like a real pisser

I think the dangerous surroundings of the Hearthfire homes was deliberate in order to emphasize the "safety" of living within a walled town as compared to living in the wilds.
if you stay at Lakeview long enough you will encounter many more dangerous foes than that low level conjurer. I often sneak snipe that nearby mage from atop the rocks near the northeast corner of the house just for jollies but there`s also a wolf den to the northwest and a Mud Crab in a small pond to the south. Bandits , a Giant , dragons , and a vampire have also attacked while I`ve lived there

I never had that problem with the cases in Hjerim, and I've never had a problem with putting armor on mannequins. It's when I walked downstairs in Honeyside and found one mannequin next to the arcane enchanter and the other in the middle of the enchanting area. Not a good site to see when you're as pediophobic as I am.

But yeah, I've had problems with bandits and giants attacking Lakeview Manor, with some Draugr attacking Winstad Manor and a skeever infestation in the basement of Heiljarchen Hall. But I already know about that.

I'm also probably one of the few people who play Skyrim that actually have some partial interest in cooking. Maybe because my favorite show is Hell's Kitchen. XP

Yeah I don't get why they had to put that bloody mess right between my manor and the lake as the property owner I would remove it - where is my option to remove offending eyesore?!?! Like I want my kids traipsing around a bloody alter.

Bandits, dragons and wolfs I can handle - the giants never do anything but lean up against the house so I leave them be and they go away.

Also with all the glitches I am too paranoid to move all my valuables from "safe" houses in the city so my built houses feel empty. But I am not fighting glitches left and right - the not being able to mine most of the veins I find is probably the biggest headache - luckily I am pretty finished with the game so mining isn't a big need for me.

Overall I'd say it's a decent addition but the glitches make it almost not worth it.

Well, if you're into immersion then you'll find some interest in it for certain. Otherwise, you might not think it's worth it that much. Still, it is only $5, so if you ever wanna take a risk in giving it a chance, it's not like you'd be wasting a crapload of money on it. But still, it's not up to me to decide what you play, so if you wanna ever give it a shot, go right ahead. I'd reccommend it, though I'd also reccommend maybe waiting until the bugs are fixed. Just yesterday, I entered Lakeview Manor, and the lodaing screen didn't even end beofre the game completely froze!

    I can't vote above because there isn't a " I like it, It is what I expected"

I know alot of Gamer Articles are saying "OMG It SUX Compared to Dawnguard"... But they really don't get this DLC.

    It's an Addon..Not an Expansion.

..I say "OMG This is SO Much Better than Horse ARMOR!!!!!"

I agree. It is a lot better than horse armor. Also, I personally only voted "It's decent enough, but it could be better." because of the glitches.

It's good if you role play which was why I bought it as soon as I saw it on Steam. But it has not been a easy ride trying to play it I can no longer use Breezhome as it CTD every time I go through the front door. Add to the fact every time I try and add the Armour bench to my hose in Heljarchen Hall I get CTD. Plus the stupid little bugs like walking up the steps at the side of my house I fall straight through them.

It's only been out a few days so I can wait for a patch so it's not a massive deal but it would be nice if Beth could test there dlc out before releasing it once in a while.

I built the lakeview house and made Lydia my steward, but she keeps going back to the house in Whiterun. I can ask her to follow me again, and she does, but as soon as I let her go she runs back to Breezehome. Weird.

It sounds like the glitch where even if you marry Derkeethus he stays at Darkwater Crossing. I don't know why Lydia would be doing that, then again I've never used her as a follower so I wouldn't really know.

I don't like followers. I only made her one to be my steward. I'm trying to find a console command to undo that.

I really like Hearthfire but there are definitely problems and things I wish were different.

Having been playing Skyrim for so long I liked having the addition of new materials to find, buy and create and I liked building the house. I like that there's more food you can make (yes I like this aspect of the game) even though what you can do with food interactions is still too limited. I like that lumber mills are now more interactive (slightly--better than just chopping some wood or loading the logs). I really, really like the garden and I LOVE the greenhouse so to grow most of the stuff (not all--seriously, why can't I grow garlic?) that I like to use. And I like all the storage space (yes the storage room is kind of pointless, since you have more than plenty of storage in the rest of the house.

Now for my completely self-indulgent whinefest about what I wish was different (beyond glitches):

-the book you get for building your house says if you make a mistake you can change it. So I thought that meant if I added a wing and then didn't like it, I could remodel like I did with the entranceway. Very annoyed that I can't. Also I think not being able to remodel takes some of the fun out of building your own house. It's my house--why can't I remodel it?

-the trophy room IMO sucks. Statues of draugr and hargravens are ugly. Waste of space and materials. Hate that I cannot remodel this wing.

-they really should have had a porch that was separate from the storage room that you could add on to non-tower wings. A porch for my greenhouse would have been awesome.

-yes, the random attacks are very annoying

-yes, the respawning conjurer north of Lakeside manor is majorly annoying. He hasn't attacked my kids yet, but I did bring the stray dog home and when the conjurer respawns, the dog goes into the west wing (my greenhouse) and barks, tries to walk through the wall and displays his health bar like he's in combat.

-I hate that in order to get bookshelves (at least for Lakeside Manor--not sure about other houses) I would have had to devote an entire wing for a library.

-I have a similar complaint as with the hold houses you can buy: I want shelves that are more interactive. I hate the whole dragging things into place because with the Xbox 360 controller, that just doesn't work so well. Also not happy with having to drop/drag things into the display cases.

-the cellar is so dark. Even with the screen lightness adjusted, I can't see the stuff down there unless as I cast a mage light spell. Needs more lighting!

-really, just 2 kids? And we're so limited in what gifts we can give them? One of the reasons i wanted Hearthfire is because, with all my characters I've ended up with tons of gold that I can't spend on anything in Skyrim. I end up throwing money away on expert and master level trainers just to have something to spend it on. I find it too easy to make a lot of gold fast once I get past level 15 of so, even without too many of the Speech perks. I want to adopt a slew of kids and spoil them all rotten by spending my coin on them!

-after having to listen to guards kid me about brewing them up an ale, why can't I brew my own ale and mead? The refilling mead barrels are OK but not as fun as being a home brewer!

-the bottomless stone quarry is irksome and makes it too easy. There should be a point it gets depleted, say after you completed the main hall, forcing you to go find a new quarry and haul those stones back.

-I wish the NPCs that you bring to your house--kids, spouse, dog, steward, etc.--would interact with each other. I'd love to come home to my kids playing with the dog or fighting with each other. Too much to ask for?

I, too, wish you were able to replace a wing with a new one. I actually find the storage room to be quite pointless. There are already plenty of containers in each house that you can store things in. The only use that the storage room really has in my opinion is allowinbetter organization of your items and such.

The cellar isn't that dark for me, mainly because I've built all the torches. If it's too dark and all the torches are built, then it's probably either your television's brightness needing to be upped, or the torches glitching and not giving off enough or any light.

Oh my God, I so wish there was a porch for the kitchen as well as the trophy room. To be honest, I can kind of see why the greenhouse doesn't have a porch because of how high the ceiling needs to be for theplants and such.

Brewing your own meada. Hell to the yes! As Mercer Frey puts it, Nlack-Briar Mead is swill. I wish I was able to produce my own mead as well. You know, something people would actually WANT to drink.

That health bar thing with your dog definitely sounds like a glitch. Then again, I've had my followers health bars come up even when they arren't in combat. So maybe it's a glotch in another sense.

I actually like the fact that the stone quarries are bottomless. If you run out of stone, you can't continue the work on your houses. At most, I'd have them replenish in about five days or so.

I wish there was more I could give to my kids as well. I also wish there was a way to adopt multiple kids. I look at Sophie in Windhelm and ai feel like crying. I look at Lucia in Whiterun and I feel like crying even more, it's so freakin' sad. I wanted to adopt a sin and a daughter, but Lucia and Sophie are two of the biggest guilt trips I've ever seen in a video game.

I am not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but I cannot adopt kids at all. The kid beds say owned, but no kinds around. I also have all the other beds, so it cannot be from the housecarl and Steward*. Anyone else have this problem?

My apiary isn't spawning bees or honeycombs. With my first character, I built it and then harvested everything out of it. But then I restocked it, because that's suppose to make it spawn again, but it never did, so i thought maybe I glitched it by harvested it before it began spawning. I did however have bees spawn inside my greenhouse, but only two at a time (and often one would be hovering in the main hall).

But I built one with a different character and left it. My garden is thriving, but the apiary has yet to spawn any bees or honeycombs.

Did you buy the horse from another stable or did your steward get the horse? If you got it from another stable, that may be why. Weird they didn't think to make sure you could "park" your horse in a specific location.
