Equipping items

Is there a simple tutorial when it comes to equipping items? I've got things favorited and hotkeyed but still run into issues. If I want to use a spell, do I have favorite it first or how do I simply select it and use it?

theres no need to favorite a idea u sipley go to weapons or magic and equip it

Go to the character menu (b on Xbox) go to the magic menu move to the spell you want to use and select it (a on Xbox) one of your hands should have it equipped now.

i have xbox i dont have anything favorited theres just no need

To equip a spell go to Character Menu > Magic (B for Xbox) > then find the spell on your list. Choose LT or RT to equip it to the corresponding hand. Favorites (Y) can be used for spells that you use often. Adding them to your favorites will allow you to press up on the directional pad and use LT/RT to equip the spell from the drop down menu.
