Since difficulty setting adjust the damage that the player does and takes, rather than the damage that enemies deal or receive, does that mean that followers/summons/thralls are unaffected by settings such as Master and Novice?

A good question that I would like to know the answer to as well.
By observation on my XBox , I see a difference in the help`s performance/survival from easier to more difficult settings but don`t know if it`s by the same factors that apply to the Dragonborn.
Traps appear to be more deadly to them for instance but I have no way to quantify
