So I get the feeling that most of the big commenters around here are primarily PC gamers, but what system do you think Skyrim will be the most fun to play on? I know the contest is for PC, but if you had your choice, what would pick and why?

For me I think I would pick Xbox. Mostly because that is where my gamer score is. I have a gamerscore on Steam, and PSN, but because I play mostly on my 360, that is the score I am proud of :) And like 10% of my score is from all Oblivion achievements. So if I could pick any system, I would go with Xbox.

I'm definitely playing on PC, but if there was a console debate, I'd choose PS3. Strictly because I'm a graphics whore and I know the PS3 version will surpass the Xbox 360. I mean the install size is 5.5GB on the PS3 compared to the 3.8 (roughly I believe) on the Xbox 360. But that's all irrelevant because it's truly all about the PC anyways :p

Yep. The PC install size is 6 something right? If you are looking for graphics and mods, PC is certainly the way to go.

Oblivion was AMAZING on the xbox. I think it would still stand up as a fantastic game even if it were released tomorrow.

PC, hands down. I don't know why anyone who doesn't care about their Live account would go with 360 if they have a PC that can handle the game. Better overall performance across the board, availability of mods, sharper control, etc. If you really, really take your Live stuff seriously, I can understand why you would go with console. But that's about the only reason I can imagine.

What about for lazy gamers? Isn't it more comfortable playing on a 50 inch plasma in the recliner, than sitting at an awkward desk, in a cheap desk chair, getting carpel tunnel? (I'm just stirring the pot here trying to get discussion going. You make good points)

this is why console gaming is superior in some ways. I feel like people in the internet are pretty one-sided with this issue. I say there's a fair amount of pros and cons for each side. I prefer pc though.

Yep. There is also the argument about know it will just work. Their are a lot of people out there, that like games, but don't know anything about PC's. They don't want to hastle with comparing graphics cards, and trying to pick out a computer that will run all the latest games. They just want something to work. Personally, I am much more comfortable in front of my console, but I love comparing PC stats :)

You sound pretty one-sided about this. If you don't dig playing games at a desk, that's your thing. But I think I speak for most gamers when I say that gaming is a more intimate and private thing when it's just you and your monitor. I occasionally like to show off my games to my family in the living room, but nothing beats the calm, private time you get with PC games. To each his own, I guess.

I had many problems with oblivion in vanilla form and I'm glad I didn't play it on console. If it was released tomorrow then I think it would get a lot of criticism. It is a 5 year old game, and it has aged decently, but there is no hiding the fact.

Hmm, I guess I feel pretty intimate with my TV too. Don't get me wrong, I like playing on my PC, and I am definitely having a PC gaming revival over the last year with Steam sales, and great humble bundle content, but I usually play after my son and wife are in bed. So I have all the privacy I need no matter what system I am playing on.

I guess that makes sense then. I definitely agree that for a single player rpg, the experience is more personal and private, making the pc my choice as opposed to the 72 inch hd projector screen I use for my xbox. Actually it might be bigger, and I have surround sound, so everyone in my family knows what's happening on the xbox when I use it.

Well, you can have all of those for PC. It's not a big deal to attach television, surround system, and controller to your rig. Only difference is that with PC you have better quality.

Yeah i have hooked up my pc to my projector before but since I dont feel like buying a really long hdmi cable and I like the privacy of my monitor it didnt work for me. Plus the wired xbox controller I would use is a piece of crap made by gamestop.

There's also the hardware issue for PCs. My PC is a few years old, and there's no way I'm purchasing a new one or doing any serious upgrades just for a game, whereas Skyrim will still be very pretty and an awesome experience on my 360.

And, as it's been mentioned on the thread, I'll be in my recliner with my 50" LCD television. ;)

I predict that youtube will be filled with comparison videos of those two platforms after the launch. Can't say anything, but that glorious pc gaming master race will once again prevail.

I'm sure the PC will look a tiny bit better, but judging by the small footprint of the game I don't think there will be much difference at all.
