I don't have the Beta, so you lucky sonsa bitches will hopefully be able to give me some feedback, but here's my first concept:
Sorcerer, Medium Armor, Greatsword
Rather than just go ahead and max for Magicka, or Health, or Stamina, I'm going to try to make a versatile build based on what I think I know. First, Staves are 2 handed, so if I want to be able to Spellsword, I need a class that doesn't need them to deal decent magical damage at a distance. Also, if I'm chain pulled in, or charged, I don't have to try to defend myself with a Staff. Greatsword, because rather than stand, and slug, I want to strike and cast so my stamina recovers while I'm using magicka, and vice-versa. this means I want to hit them HARD, instead of depend on DPS.
This is pretty much the basis of the build, I don't have to put my sword away. Medium Armor to enhance Stamina, because in addition to Pounding mobs, and zotting them I want to be able to Sprint, Dodge, and use Evasion. The hope is I'll be able to emulate the hit and run tactics with seamless Range to Reach, and skip away before they recover.
This should get me through the first 10 levels or so so I can get Weapon Switching, and probabl y play bandit around the PVP area. Kinda Wilderness PKer from Runescape, I'll probably try massed battles, but I doubt it will be that fun all the way up to 50. Slot a Destruction Staff to Fire Support my buddies. I'm building for Solo, but still need a role when I do join up with parties and/or to participate in massed battles, so I'm thinking Artillery Mage with a ginormous Dagger when they do close on me. Probably right about Leather Cannon, not Glass, but enough armor to take a couple hits that aren't dodged, or evaded. If I have enough skill points/shards, piecemail with Light for magicka recovery too.
