Yep. They say it's going to "buy to play", but it's really going to be a "pay to win" you just watch. I will probably buy it just because I loved Oblivion and Skyrim so much and I want to stay in the Elder Scrolls universe, but if it starts getting too grindy or I have to actually use real money to get ahead, I'm done. I can't wait for ES6. Hopefully it gets announced this year.

I'm thinking of purchasing this "unlimited" version myself however it better not be one of those crappy microtransaction games. Bioware is on my plopslist for making the muliplayer version of Dragon Age Inquisition into a microtransaction game...

    I aint having it.

I'm thinking about getting it at some point. But first I'd need a better PC or one of the new consoles. By the time that can realistically happen I figure the game would have been out long enough for to judge whether its really worth it.

If and when it is possible to download the game and try it for a week or two without buying the box, I might give it a go. Heck I'd probably subscribe for a month or two if the upfront cost were closer to zero.

However, as ESO has always looked like a poor version of ES set in an MMO (which for a strong single player RPG never made sense to me), it has never really been something high on my interest list. As such, I'm not willing to spend $60 just to try.

I believe at this point Zenimax realizes the 'buy to pay' conversion and console launch is the last major cash grab left for the game, and is trying one last time to get ES fans to part with their cash by forcing the purchase of the box, regardless of whether the actual MMO game is found to be enjoyable or not.

I just hope we hear about a new ES game soon, I'm still a little miffed that after Skyrim, we got ESO instead of a new single player ES (one with multiple player support would have been awesome).

The fee was ridiculous and the main reason why I didn't buy that game. I think we were at one point talking about €13 euro's a month - which is more than I spend on my cellphone subscription. However, now that it's free-to-play I am considering it again. A few things are still holding me back, though. The first thing is my experience with FTP games actually being "pay-to-win". It's like Grepolis and those other free games that come with micro-transactions. If you are not willing to spend money, you never make it far.
The main problem that I have with TESO, is that it's a quick money maker for the responsible studio's. Lore has been changed and TESO lore sometimes just shamelessly conflicts with the lore we know from Skyrim and it's predecessors. I also feel like they quickly "created" a Tamriel that was suitable for an MMORPG - which means that they have now created lore that next Elder Scrolls games need to stay true to.

The fee as Anouck said, was the only thing keeping me from playing the game. Dumb decision on their part to have a monthly fee comproable to WoW's. But things should go better now that they've casted the "expel monthly fee" spell

I'd totally buy it in a millisecond if it didn't require a newer console or gaming PC. :/ I'm not broke but I'm not going to buy a whole new console just for one game. If ever they come out with a version for PS3 though, I would buy it. Maybe if I have some money to burn one day I'll get both a PS4 and the game - knowing that both TESO and Fallout 4 are going to be on it. Still holding out hope they'll release it for older systems though.

Why can't they put it out for 360? I'm sure as heck not getting an xbox one, for one game I already have for PC. And, ironically, I can't play it on PC without it lagging or crashing. I don't know if it's because the computer is old or if it's because of our crappy internet.

Would it act the same way on a PS4? So many questions...

This move completely pissed me off...its clearly just an attempt to make quick cash off of loyal fans...totally lame...I wish they woulda just stuck to single player! Especially with what they can do with graphics and technic nowadays! They coulda totally blown this outta the water..but no had to follow a trend like and "fix" something that wasn't broken in the first place. What a let down...like a kick ass band that decided to go mainstream

What would be nice is to get rid of the subscription altogether, on all versions of the game. I can live with that.
