Assassin at your service
Hello.
I'm new to the forum and going to buy the game and already chose the character I want.
I chose the imperial and I like to sneak and would like to use bows/daggers/1h weapons.
So yeah, basically I like staying away from enemies or very sneaky/undetected.
So if anyone has a good build for this type of class, please send a link or tell me.
Thanks a lot.

The Khajiit might be your best bet. It also depends on what perks you take as you level up. I just leveled up my guy to be a tank for the first 25 levels, then moved on to magic for the next 25. Heavy Armor might give you away when sneaking, and there will be times you need it so it's a bit of a catch 22.
The game is addictive so get comfortable :)
Also, don't do like I did and waste an hour designing the face, only to wear a helmet the whole time.

Oh thanks, but I really don't care about the face.
My friend told me that Imperial is the way to go.
And I'm new to this whole Magic 22 thing or heavy armor increased to 51.
Which would be best for this type of class?

Hi there zFrenzyy and welcome to the boards.
You say your friends say to go Imperial, but the skills you would like to use (bows/daggers/1h weapons) and the reasons (staying away from enemies or very sneaky/undetected) are more suitable for a race that specializes in some or all of those skills. In this case, and I reference this page on Skyrim:Races, that you might want to try either a Khajiit or a Bosmer.

Now, you were looking for a build for an Imperial, well, that's really how you like to play and how well you specialize in your skills.

As you use a bow and sneak around you will gain levels in these skills and you can can focus on them with perks. The same goes for One-handed skill set. Looking at the skills and perks pages of the wiki site can help you determine how you want to distribute your perks. Since you are looking at using bows/sneaking/one-handed weapons, I'd suggest focusing your perks into those trees initially.

Imperials are better suited for a tank, palladin, or battle-mage type build, for a stealth assassin you may want to go with khajjit or argonian

Bosmer would be a great fit being the race with the highest buff to bows starting out. The claws racial for Khajiit only help if you choose to level an unarmed character and night eye is probably most helpful racial for a character sneaking around in the dark. Then there is waterbreathing and poison resist 50% for Argonians. Waterbreathing is handy, but nothing really more than that. Poison resist is nice but I consider it the weakest of all the 'resist' perks because poison is what you come in contact with the least, and its usually in a dungeon, and easily avoided.

Now all of that said, I would advise you pick the race that you like. Skyrim is a very balanced game and the races that have buffs to specific skills only help in lower levels. You will level whatever skills you use very quickly with the correct guardian stone activated. All in all, race doesn't matter so much, unless you're gunning for a specific racial ability.

Pretty much this. If you're going be doing some thievery too and not just use sneak with combat perks like a strict assassin, imperial can be a good choice because of their racial bonus - imperial luck. Finding more gold is always useful for a thief.
Everyone talks about imperials being better suited for the tanking role, and that's probably because of the initial bonus to restoration and heavy armor, but I think they're equally, if not better, suited for the thief role because of imperial luck and voice of the emperor. Racial bonuses > Skill bonuses in my opinion. Having the ability to find and steal more gold and calm anyone who catches you or starts a fight you don't want to be in so you can get away just screams "thief."

Not just for the tank role, though, Imperials usually made good battlemages and such, and I even know a friend who plays an Imperial pure mage.

Imperials actually could make good thieves and assassins considering they get a bonus in finding gold (get rich quicker). A money hungry Imperial thief/assassin always works out.

Naturally they are suitable paladins, knights and battlemages as per their bonuses, but I don't see why an assassin or thief wouldn't work for an Imperial. Plus the bonus to one hand and block makes them pretty adept in combat situations (thieves and assassins have to fight upfront sometimes too).

that's an excellent point, voice of the emperor would be very useful to a thief/assassin
