<THIS ROLEPLAY IS NO LONGER RECRUITING>
    First, there was the dragons.
Swarming across Skyrim, they wreaked havoc all over the war-torn home of the Nords.
The problem was solved by the long-awaited Dragonborn,
who slew Alduin, first-born of Akatosh,
to save Skyrim from his tyranny.
Next came the vampire menace of Coldharbour.
Their plot to block out the sun nearly came to fruition,
but the Dawnguard rose from ashes and destroyed the cult,
with the help of the Dragonborn.
The maniacal Miraak then rose from history,
attempting to murder the very man who had taken up his role.
The Dragonborn destroyed him and his cult,
    Freeing the people of Solstheim
and becoming even more legendary than he already was.
    Now,
    nearly five hundred years later,
    Tamriel has moved on.
The Dragonborn of the 4th Era is the stuff of legend,
and people born with the dragon-blood become ever more rare.
Technology advances beyond the people's wildest dreams.
The Thalmor fall heavily, destroying the Aldmeri Dominion
    and freeing Tamriel.
    The Empire remains,
keeping the nations of Tamriel under control.
But not all is as it seems.
    The Emperor has recently died,
    and not of natural causes.
Suspicious circumstances were rife in the investigation,
and all the evidence pointed to his son, Arcturus,
who took the name Emperor Arcturus III.
The new, self-proclaimed Emperor grew more insane and more paranoid,
sentencing all who spoke out to death.
Secret rebellions cropped up all over the Empire,
plotting to take down the tyrannical ruler and supplant him with the true Emperor,
Tyrellius, the first-born son of the old Emperor,
who was exiled by his younger brother Arcturus.
These rebellions grow more and more powerful as time goes on,
    and it appears that soon,
    very soon,
    something will change,
either for better or for worse.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea behind this is that your character, preferably some form of relatively able fighter, has been thrown into The Iceshelf, a medium-security prison on the outskirts of Winterhold, for reasons decided by you. The characters escape and have a choice ahead of them. What that choice is is to be kept secret for now.
"Technology advances beyond wildest dreams" - This means steampunk-ish, not ultramodern, flying cars era. Factories, smoke, carriages, some flintlock firearms but nothing more.
General character-based rules apply; no over-powered characters, no over-sexualized characters, no obnoxious characters that will get on everyone's nerves.

    RULES
    1. Follow all the generic site rules that should be common sense to most.
    2. Post at least twice a week.
    3. Give each other respect and do not fight. It doesn't solve anything and only serves to make things worse.
    4. No Shouting, none of you are Dragonborn.
    5. This RP is 18+. This means mature themes such as violence and swearing; if you can't handle them, don't join.
    6. Have fun!

Interestingly, I just noticed I'd omitted that. I'm about to add it in; basically, steampunk. Factories, some level of machinery and flintlock pistols, but nothing more.

    Name: Allie Hawksley
    Age: 26
    Race: Breton
    Gender: Female
Fighting style: Sneaky and deadly; often hiding in the shadows above rather than hiding behind things, using a short-sword or a bow to take out her target.
Experience: Trained in the Dark Brotherhood for a short while, then learnt from a more private teacher.
Personality: Kind yet ruthless, extremely intelligent and observant, and quite friendly.
Appearance: Relatively short, 5'5", with wide eyes and long brown hair. All of this combines to make her seem almost innocent, to help her blend in when escaping.
    tomb-raider-2013-wallpaper.jpg
Gear: Leather clothes that fit her form to avoid flapping about and revealing her position. Contrary to this, she likes to wear a short cape with a hood and cowl, if she ever needs to maintain her security.
    thief-2014-ps4-screenshot-1.jpg
History: Born in the Imperial City as an orphan, she quickly learnt how to survive. She discovered, at the age of 8, that her father was Emperor Arcturus III himself, who'd had her mother killed when he discovered of his bastard. Seeded with a hatred for the Emperor, she fled the City aged eleven to Cheydinhall, where the Dark Brotherhood still held sanctuary. They took her in and taught her basic skills, but then sent her away again, on the basis that she was no true Sister. By the time her new mentor found her, she was nearly dead at the young age of thirteen. From there, her mentor taught her the skills she'd need to take down the Emperor, becoming her only family for ten years. When Allie was twenty-three, her mentor was killed by execution after getting caught trying to poison his target. Traumatized, her hatred of the Emperor grew even more, and she lived in solitude until she was caught, trying to steal food from a caravan of Khajiit. She was taken to the Iceshelf, thrown in a cell and left to live out her days in prison.
Reason for being in prison: Should be obvious from the backstory.
Reason for disliking Emperor Arcturus III: Again, obvious from backstory.

    Someone said steampunk?

    crazy-dance.gif

I am come. Interest is abundant. Character card will appear soon. Very excite. The protagonist for my long-time budding original fiction work will appear for sure, a young, outspoken airship captain.

God I'm pumped already. Steampunk is my favorite genre of fantasy.

I should point out before I join that I know very little of steampunk stuff.

Sidenote: This character card is aged and based largely upon my own personal interpretation of steampunk and the world we are in. Most, if not all, of the information below is subject to change if the roleplay requires it. I have taken some liberties regarding the state of Tamriel, building a few of the cities just for the sake of giving Finn a rough backstory for this RP.

    General

    Name: Finn H. Everswyck
    Gender: Male
    Age: 29
    Race: Imperial

    Appearance

Finn is of an average size, standing approximately 6'0" and weighing about 150 lbs. He has dark brown hair of a moderate length, and sky blue eyes. His skin is of a rather tanned hue due to his constant exposure to the sun, being an airship captain, and he is somewhat built due to the manual labor required to run and maintain an airship.

    desert%20steampunk%20pirates%20gears%20captain%20vehicles%20airship%20boys%20tagnotallowedtoosubjective%20guy%20swords_www.vehiclehi.com_94.jpg

    Personality

Finn is of a very outgoing nature. Awkward is a word unknown to him, and he loves to make conversation with anyone and everyone. This very sociable nature comes from the typical isolation airship crews face since they are often afloat for extended periods of time, away from social centers and cities. However, despite this friendliness, Finn can be very outspoken (in a negative way), even immature in some cases, and he is very quick to anger. He often lets his emotions get the better of him and will tend to make impulse decisions when angered. Finn loves to fly; in fact, he loves to take risks. But, as one could guess, taking risks always comes with the possibility of consequences, and he finds himself in bad situations due to his risk-taking on more than one occasion, especially with his superiors.

    Equipment

Apparel: Very similar to above image, minus some of the extra cloths and such. He prefers to wear lightweight, long sleeved shirts and long pants in order to protect his skin from the unforgiving sun. In order to cover as much skin as possible, he also tends to wear a thin scarf or cloth around his neck, and will, or occasion, cover much of his face with a cloth as well. This cloth is namely for travel in high wind speeds, inclement weather, or just more protection from the sun on particularly hot days. Finn is also in possession of not only a pair of standard aviation goggles but also a pair of higher-tech, specialized goggles with the ability to zoom in and out, very similar to binoculars.

Weapon Choice: In combat, Finn uses a custom rifle he crafted himself using spare machinery from airship repairs, and dual katanas for close range combat. His rifle is tuned to fire small circular pellets with deadly precision, very different from other weapons of the age. His aim is rather good, and his skills with his swords are decent as well for his age. In addition to his custom rifle and swords, Finn often carries a standard flintlock pistol for a sidearm.

These images are not entirely accurate, but you get the gist. If it needs to be less "high-tech", then imagine it as such. These images are to be used only as references.

    History

Finn was born in the overcrowded, bustling town of Bravil. The industrialization of Tamriel hit the already-impoverished city hard, and besides the massive factories, little more exists of the city than slums. Finn had a rough life as a child, always scraping to get by with his mother and father, who both worked long, relentless hours in an airship factory.

When Finn was 11, almost of age to be put to work in the factories, his father died in a factory incident. His mother, riddled with grief, committed suicide, leaving Finn alone. Due to strange orphan laws imposed on Bravil, Finn was taken by the regional government and put to work in a munitions factory, where he would spend the next several years working in.

Around the age of 16, Finn discovered his fascination with aviation and flight. When on garbage duty in the factory, he uncovered some old airship schematics. Keeping them for himself, he spent almost every last minute of his free time studying the schematics and searching for more.

When Finn turned 18, he was drafted onto a military airship: the HMS Ithacus. His wildest dream came true through the harsh and imposing laws of post-industrialized Cyrodiil. On the Ithacus, Finn quickly demonstrated a natural skill as an airman and became revered for his abilities.

Only a few short years later, when Finn was about 22, tragedy struck the HMS Ithacus. Captain Enzo, the legendary captain of the warship, passed away suddenly. When the crew was presented with the task of picking a new captain for the airship, the democratic vote almost unanimously decided that Finn would become their new captain, regardless of his young age.

Finn was the captain of the HMS Ithacus for almost seven years. He was wildly respected by his crew and even by other veteran airmen and captains. However, all this came to a shrieking halt when Finn became wrongly accused of aiding the enemy by the new Emperor Arcturus III's goons. Unable to defend himself from these accusations, even with the support of not only his own crew but the admiralty of Cyrodiil itself, Finn was arrested and thrown into prison, detained at Iceshelf. Behind the frigid walls of the frozen prison, Finn remains determined to discover the meaning behind the false accusations of aiding the enemy and hopes to earn vengeance for this wrongful imprisonment.

Also, for anyone wondering what the hell "steampunk" is, to sum it up in very simple, understandable terms, it is 19th century Victorian-esque culture mixed with steam-based technology (steam locomotives, flintlocks, blunderbusses, muskets, zeppelins, dirigibles, etc).

    EpicVakarian

    Calibration-Master General
Del, good to see you like the concept! Finn is accepted on the condition that he uses the Ithacus only based on the circumstances*. That is, he can't just leap on and fly off whenever. Also, it would be helpful if you edited certain bits like the goggles. You can keep them, just make them seem a little lower-tech, and that applies to the weapons as well.

*My original vision was that airships would be extremely uncommon, and more people would just have flintlock pistols, etc and nothing too much more advanced, almost Dishonored-like. You can have your airship, but I don't want all our characters having an airship.

    Osiris

    Child of the Sky
    Name: Vonos Dres
    Age: 31
    Race: Dark Elf
    Gender: Male
Fighting style: Long, drawn-out fights are his preference.
Experience: Ex-Dawnguard as well as years performing Mercenary work
Personality: Cunning, manipulative, and patient. Craves battle and bloodshed, but can also be charming and flirtatious. Enjoys playing mind games with opponents.
    Appearance:

    images28H3P051.jpg

Gear: dfg.png Chainsawsword001.jpg width=500&height=375.jpg Full Dawnguard Heavy armor(minus the sleeves) and his prized sword, Sera: a blade infused with a chainsaw.

Short history: Born on Solsthiem shortly before the death of the Emperor, Vonos liked to fight since he was a child. Growing up, the Dunmer spent most of his time in the wilderness, the only place he felt truly at home. Years after the Emperor's death, Vonos joined the Dawnguard to see some action, but ended up deserting after realizing he hated the way the Dawnguard brutally stereotyped all Vampires as bloodthirsty monsters. After his desertion, Vonos tried work as a Sell-Sword, making a decent pay doing what he loved. Eventually, a trip to the Imperial City caught the eye of the Emperor's guard, who referred Vonos to Emperor Arcturus III. He was offered a spot in the Guard, but declined, not interested in a "honorable and noble" lifestyle. The new Emperor then struck him a deal: Take work as a personal Mercenary, getting paid to eliminate political opposition as well as Arcturus's personal enemies. Not having much else going for him, Vonos took up the offer, serving as a Royal Enforcer to the Emperor for a few years.

Reason for being in prison: During a seemingly regular mission to kill a voice of revoltion in Skyrim, Vonos was stopped by his target's men. After a few days of interrogation and torture led to nothing being revealed, Vonos was bound and gagged, being sent to Winterhold where he was thrown into the ice-Shelf to rot.

Reason for liking/disliking Emperor Arcturus III: Is somewhat neutral in the matter. Understands that the Emperor is a tyrant, but cares too little to actually do anything about it, for the Emperor is his source of septims and hospitality.

Awesome, can't wait to start, your RP's are always promising Epic :)

    Navare

    Savage Spirit
    Name: Ruran Tristyn
    Age: 28
    Race: Breton
    Gender: Male
Fighting style: Quick, to the point. Get the job done.
Experience: Several years working alone as a hired assassin for whomever needed a job done.
Personality: Ruran is competent and highly intelligent, though he is as merciless as they come when a killing needs done. He feels no remorse, and is very secretive. All the same he is very charming, and maintains that his body is merely a tool, those who hired him were the killers.
Appearance: (All credits to AC for the image) The image describes him accurately, so take a look :)
    ACB_screenshot_officer.jpg

Gear: Ruran greatly enjoyed the advancements in technology, becoming familiar with it rather quickly. He now carries two flintlock pistols, though he tries not to rely on them, (When he does, he is very, accurate) and two daggers, which are his primary weapons.
    v8423.jpg

    Kit_Rae_Deaths_Head_Dagger_With_Plaque_KR0048.jpg

(Apologies for the large images, but I thought they were perfect for describing Ruran's appearance and gear)
Short history: Ruran was once a good man, brought up by an innocent Mother and Father, who lived a poor, but in their eyes, good life. But Ruran always wanted more than this, as he was extremely ambitious. At an early age he got involved with the wrong type of people, realising that there were...quicker ways to make money in life than what he knew. He quickly picked up on being stealthy, stealing to help his parents get by.

All went well for some time, and Ruran believed he was untouchable. But he realised he simply wasn't earning enough for his parents to keep surviving. He left home when he was 18, and quickly became part of the Dark Brotherhood. It was here that his skills were honed, and also when he claimed his pistols, which soon earned their first kill. A kill that changed Ruran. Up to this point, he still had a decent conscience. There was hope for the lad, he only needed someone to save him from this twisted life of earning money for killing, all to keep his parents under a roof.

But when one joins the Brotherhood, there are agreements made. To cut a long story short, Ruran's conscience vanished in one night. The same night his parents died. The same night his pistols earned their first, and second kill. After this, Ruran just didn't care. He was risky, killing anyone, anyway. If you wanted someone killed, but had no qualms as to how it was done, Ruran was your man.

An old friend did at one point help him, and he is now less careless and more precise in battle, and does represent his former self. He does not like talking about his history, and is prone to fits of rage when questioned about it. When he escapes prison, he hopes that he might see them again. After he completes his job, of course.

Reason for being in prison: After attempting to kill the Emperor, Ruran was offered a huge amount of gold to sheath his sword. An irresistible amount. It became known as a failed attempt by the notorious assassin, as he was locked up in The Iceshelf soon after. Little do people know, Ruran has now been hired by the emperor to discover and stop the plans for rebellion brewing inside the prison.
Reason for liking/disliking Emperor Arcturus III: When someone gives you that much gold, how can you possibly not like 'em?

Accepted, Navare. What's your dialogue colour? I'm assuming white from the CC.

Also, Del, still need your dialogue colour.
