    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

I somehow managed to have missed the whole Liulfr/Pen bantering :)

    If You Lived in Skyrim...

Whiterun jailor. Primary job responsibilities include pretending to lose keys, making silly jokes, determining what to do with the grate in that one cell the player always gets put in, and possibly relocating the personal belongings chest to someplace more secure and remote, like Bruma.

Missouri Rep wants to tax violent video games.

Statistics can be fun. From this site, in 2008 USA computer/video game software sales (i.e. actual games) were $11.7 billion. Missouri, it turns out, has a population of just about exactly 1/50 of the USA as a whole, so we assume Missouri's share of this was 1/50, which comes out to $234...

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

Ahhhh, Gulum-Ei, the winking skeever of the Winking Skeever. My Sjadbek: " 'Near Ivarstead'? Hmm... what do I know of that's near Ivarstead? Shroud Hearth Barrow... High Hrothgar, but that's definitely not it... ah, the Rift Imperial Camp. Which happens to be where Pen currently is. And...

    Janus3003's Skyrim Marriage Counseling

Dear Janus: I am a wealthy Redguard female who has been a thane of Eastmarch for ten months now. I reside in a stately house in Windhelm and, as befitting a thane, have been granted a housecarl named Calder. I found him quite attractive, and married him. However, after returning from a...

Mods for people with bad computers?

I don't have one that changes the perks completely, but.... ...Obviously, avoid graphics mods if you can. "Live Another Life" doesn't require much processing power and most mods that just add quests or something shouldn't be too bad. Just stick to vanilla graphics at low settings and you...

Will Skyrim run on my laptop?

Skyrim runs on my nearly-2-year-old laptop which also has Intel HD Graphics and which has worse specs otherwise than your new one, though I do keep it at 800x600 which may help. It should run fine, though I wouldn't recommend the highest graphics settings.

    Your "wow" moments.

For fun, I decided to spawn a bunch of Imperial soldiers inside (the Stormcloak) Palace of the Kings. Brunwulf happened to be there, sitting at the table. Once all the Imperials were dead, Brunwulf looked rather hunkered and ran off to the stewards room, cowering beside the fire, and refused...

    Is oblivion playable after skyrim.

I played Oblivion first time after Skyrim. Could hardly "put it down" until I was all but done. The only thing to be alert to: You may actually want to choose a character class that you're not suited for, because of the way the Oblivion leveling system works. Without exception, common...

    Your "wow" moments.

A small one, but... Apparently reporting to Aventus that you've killed Grelod the Kind counts as "assisting the people of Eastmarch" for the purpose of becoming Thane. I just found this out today.

    Spoiler The Bear of Skyrim

It's time for me to officially admit it: "Bear of Skyrim" is on hiatus. I don't know for how long. Blame the hecticness of the holiday season, the possibility that I might move reasonably soon and need to make arrangements for that, and the simple fact that I have been distracted by other...

    A World Without Dragons

Or simply don't go to Bleak Falls Barrow. The only aspect of the game (besides the main quest) that forces you to have dragons is the civil war (Balgruuf won't pick sides until you kill the first one and have the after-speech - I presume this was to avoid the potential awkwardness of having...

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

<3 Sjadbek: "Well, Mercer, if that's how you feel about the Stormcloaks (I'm assuming 'ragtag bumpkin horde' refers to us) and the Legion, you could always start your own Breton supremacist group... except for the fact that you also hate most Bretons, so that wouldn't work out too well. Maybe...

    Wind Guide You

You don't have to be bound by your side in terms of liking stories. I side Stormcloak but love "Kathodos" which is Imperial-side.

How long would Skyrim events realistically take

It means roughly 20 miles as I figure it.

How long would Skyrim events realistically take

Right. In "my" Skyrim, it's only a day's walk from Riverwood to Whiterun, whereas from Windhelm to Riften is more like five to seven days of travel; Riften to Markarth is two and a half weeks. So the day's walk is condensed to maybe about three minutes of real time, whereas Windhelm to Riften...

How long would Skyrim events realistically take

It depends on a couple things: (1) how big you think Skyrim is, (2) how diligent your Dragonborn is, (3) how combat-ready your Dragonborn is, and (4) how tough the opponents are. In "Bear of Skyrim," I had the main quest from Helgen to Sovngarde take a year (exactly), and the civil war, which...
