I see what you're saying, but for me it would be more about consciously setting aside that time to get something actually written. I've done research and initial planning, but haven't written really any of it yet. I guess I just feel like if I sit down and write 50,000 words, that's 50,000 words...

Tempted to use this to get my actual for-reals, someday-to-be-published novel off the ground. I've done a lot of research and initial plot-line construction, but to actually get some mileage in the thing itself would be great. ARGH. Too many projects, so little time. :/

If You Could Marry Anyone In Skyrim, Who'd It Be?

I have Skyrim on PC (as well as console). so I CAN marry anyone. :P In all seriousness, though, I'd say that Teldryn Sero, Neloth, and Rune (from the Thieves Guild) should have been marriageable by default. I've used mods to wed people otherwise resistant to the idea, but I certainly think...

    Weirdest letter of inheritance?

I'd say the weirdest and most unexpected one I got was from Mercer Frey. Yeah, I don't get it either.

    Robin Williams went to Sovngarde

Have you guys seen this? One of the greatest tributes I've ever seen, for anyone - so efficient. I know I'll always miss this beautiful soul. We love you, Robin. <3

    Robin Williams went to Sovngarde

I'm really not one to get overly distressed at celebrity deaths, even when I am a genuine fan of the artist's work. I always find it sad, but this...this is somehow leagues worse than any others I can remember. I think for me, like so many others, I've grown up with his films. He's been in...

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

After just noticing that the header was gone here...got it reuploaded to another spot. Goddamned Imageshack... *fistshake!* Also, some good news: I'm going to be relocating to the town in which I actually work, so I'll have more time to write and get back on a better schedule starting this...

    Fanfic-writing Tips/Sounding board

It's a JANUS! Hahaha, yeah, I check in here periodically. I need to be around more, try to connect with the writers here again. I also need to catch up on people's work.

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

Thanks so much, Kitty! I have no idea who all of my readers are these days, so it's great to know that you've enjoyed it so far. :) I wanted to offer something different with my story, something very much believable for the world and setting of Skyrim, but also showing another side. I'm excited...

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

Never, NEVAH delete yours, Ashleh! Thank you very much, though! I really appreciate it. :) I'm glad that so many people have enjoyed my work - when I write, I put everything into it, heart and soul. I don't do much of anything half-assed, and I'm glad that that shows. I hope you...

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

Sorry for being a week late on this one, guys. Work has been a nightmare because of renovations and I've had to take some work home as a result - thus putting me behind with this. I do hope this chapter was worth the wait, though! :D

    Kathodos: A Return of Exiles

Chapter 21 Between her ride out to meet Carius on the road and her trip back to camp now, Penelope noticed that the sky had darkened all the more. It looked like rain. And yet, it didn’t. The sun was doing its best to hold strong behind the clouds. But as the winds began to blow more urgently...

    Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

It's tied to Ulfric because he's the current Jarl and he alone has the power to change it. When the Red Mountain erupted 200 years ago, the Dunmer were initially taken in as refugees. There is actually a monument at Refugees' Rest that reads: I agree that the timeline isn't as clear as it...

    Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Right now, he can live in the Gray Quarter - and that's it. Unless he pulls up stakes. If you're trying to get me to account for available living space throughout the city, that's never been something anyone has attributed the racial laws in Windhelm to (if I've missed dialogue, please point it...

    Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

It seems to me that if they're following the law and working, they should be getting not only basic respect but the same freedoms others have in the city. That's the crux of the matter - even if Rolff took a blow to the head and started loving and adoring Dunmer, they're still treated...

    Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

Actually, I've seen several people in this thread and elsewhere try to argue that if the Dunmer just supported or outright joined the Stormcloaks, then that would earn them respect. This always brings us back to the point that Ulfric's rule didn't start at the same time as the civil...

    Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

It's much harder to integrate fully into any society when you're racially marginalized. Additionally, even if they somehow did all manage to work for the Shatter-Shields...how is this going to change the law? Ulfric has the power to address things. No one is saying he can snap his fingers and...
