    Stuff that never gets old

I'm probably one of the few left that still enjoys Lydia saying "I'm sworn to carry your burdens ..." Kill cams of stealth kills, whether by arrow or dagger. For that matter, ANY time I one-shot stealth kill. Opening that boss chest at the end of a dungeon ... Killing Nazeem. Killing...

What's the best way to play on a PC?

I jumped on the Steam bandwagon a few months ago and so far haven't regretted the decision. And of course when I saw Skyrim on sale I couldn't pass it up. While I seem to be able to manage playing Minecraft on PC effortlessly, I can't be bothered to use the keyboard for Skyrim when I'm so...

    need smithing/armour advice

I was going by your statement of playing on Expert and dying to spiders. I don't know how much experience you have playing Skyrim or warrior builds so my advice was geared toward someone new who can use all the help they can get. Heavy armor, without Perks or Smithing, is better at soaking up...

    need smithing/armour advice

You may want to favor heavy armor. Generally speaking, the more an item is worth, the more XP it gives. If you have Perks invested in Smithing, the highest rank you've obtained will get you the most. Dwarven is easiest to get raw materials for. Dwemer dungeons are loaded with scrap that can be...

I officially hate skyrim on console.

I'm aware of Liar's Retreat. But it doesn't get around the fact that they should be more readily available. Slightly off topic but is it still possible to duplicate using mannequins and if so does that trick work on clothing?

I officially hate skyrim on console.

I'm a fan of the Tavern Clothes but it's a fairly rare item unless I want to go on a killing spree of Skyrim's inns. Not even Radiant Raiment carries them which surprised me. I also think it sucks that all the Mythic Dawn robes come pre-enchanted. Have you considered the Mourner's Clothes? I'm...

    Leveling Alchemy?

The more the potion is worth, the more XP you get. There are a few potions with multiple effects that can raise your skill quickly. A good early one uses Blue Mountain Flower and Blue Butterfly Wing but there are others worth a lot more.

So what do you think of Dragon Scale Armor and Dragon weapons

I remember liking the look of Dragonscale. I favor light armor and would only make the heavy version for a follower. I can't speak for the weapons since I didn't get the DLC til after the character that achieved 100 in Smithing was long gone. Question though: Are there Dragon Bone bows? I will...

    Random Thoughts

Realistically, I think it would be grossly OP. Even a 6 shot magazine, rapidly fired would give you a huge advantage. Something like a musket would be better with a long reload time but massive damage. Not that I would ever want to see such a thing in a medieval styled fantasy world.

Have you ever reached the point...?

I'm able to limit my armor and weapons but anything else is too much to keep track of. It does slow down the rise from rags to riches quite a bit. I've also limited the type of potions I allow myself to sell. Basically, if I wouldn't use it neither would anyone else. They're still good to craft...

    Random Thoughts

Time to take it down a notch. I recently cleaned Vokun's clock without breaking a sweat. You know you're a badass when you can take down a Dragon Priest in 2 shots. And he never saw me. So I'm hanging up the Legendary armor and weapons and going back to unimproved stuff. I'm a master Alchemist...

    Playing through again, thoughts?

I've had dozens of characters. Some were deliberately not something I typically played. If you have a certain style that you enjoy playing then stick with it unless you're interested in trying something new. If certain parts of the game seem to be too easy, make rules to limit yourself. I don't...

    Your WTF/LOL Moments?

Why is it that whenever I clean out my inventory for a fresh round of dungeon looting a damn dragon shows up and forces me to lug around 75 pounds of dragon bones unless I inconvenience myself to make a special trip back home to drop them off!

Have you ever reached the point...?

My Speech skill is getting so high I don't even go for the Gift of Charity bonus anymore. No Perks invested in it either. A dagger enchanted with Banish will wipe out a blacksmith's gold. I've actually gone back to enchanting them with Paralyze because I don't like feeling I gave the shopkeepers...

    Unique/Memorable Builds

I find that I don't make builds. I make CHARACTERS. Granted, most of them are psychotic nutjobs that love to sneak, steal and kill but the way they go about it varies by their personalities. I've had an Alchemist that didn't ever attack. He had to rely on followers and conjured atronachs. No...

    It's too frustrating

Skyrim does have it's quirks as far as bugs go. I'm on the Xbox and even after the latest patch I still see glitches. My character also excels at Archery and while using Sneak can take down a bear in one or two shots. Keep your distance and Fus Roh Dah. If you're going to use Destruction...

    enchanting & smithing redundant ?

Enchanting is similar to Alchemy in some ways. Both have a variety of effects that can enhance your skills or deal extra damage. Enchanting can actually benefit Alchemy and Smithing since you can craft sets of Fortify Alchemy or Fortify Smithing equipment which will boost your abilities...

    Playstyles

Agreed. I don't have the discipline for all that. Avoiding fast travel is easy enough, even preferable. I also allow myself the use of carriages. It's gotten to the point where I feel like I'm cheating if I DO fast travel. One time I even left a sacrifice of 1000 gold on a spider carcass and...

Quest Back to Bleak Falls Barrow

I've seen it so many times I should become a tour guide. Annnnd HERE is where the ancient Nords set up a death trap to discourage -watch the swinging blades! - discourage would-be thieves from disturbing and looting their sacred tombs. Now if you'll step this way ... I surprised myself with my...

What kind of Vampire should i play?

ANY build, if played correctly, can be a badass. Are those 3 characters the only 3 you've played? If so, you have a long road ahead of you before you explore all the possibilities. Even if you want to limit yourself to being a vampire. I don't know if you role-play but if not it adds a whole...
