So, someone on Debian "Sid" got it all working. Gonna try their method, but I gotta go to work soon. Gonna try their method later, probably after 3am GMT.
Under wine, you may have to go into the game's data files and delete the intro. Currently, there is no other solution known.
Open your file manager (I think Ubuntu still uses Nautilus from gnome) and play with the options to have it "show hidden" files and folders. Go to your home folder, then...
